thats why we should never judge anyone's faith or salvation, We do not know what has happened..
Amen....we absolutely cannot judge one's salvation, but we can judge their gospel.....if they peddle and push a false gospel it can be surmised that they might not be saved....Case in point....Jesus and the statements made about the Pharisees encompassing land and sea to make 1 proselyte......

Where do you draw the line? Jesus called people vipers, dogs, swine, children of the devil, whitewashed tombs, blind fools, liars, hypocrites... are you saying that telling the truth at all times is lacking love if you don't like the message? Did Jesus sin?
I have no problem calling black black or white white.....and to be like Jesus, John, Paul, Elijah etc. and rake false teachers over the coals is biblical......this is no personality contest for sure!

Well, the act on my part of walking down that aisle certainly got me saved. My point is that, of course, God does the actual saving of a person, however we have a part to play in salvation also. If we had no part to play in our salvation then all the world would have been saved immediately after Jesus resurrection. Those who are saved did something of their own free will, they accepted Jesus as Savior and committed their self to live for God. Those who do not accept Jesus as Savior and commit to God are not saved, even though Jesus died to save then also. So we have a part in our salvation...but not in the actual saving part.
Our salvation has a part to play in God's redemptive plan for the world.

Have you read Esther recently?

Ariel, even Jesus gave tough love. Sometimes that's the ONLY type of love to show to people, even if they don't like how it's presented to them..
I agree.....God has called and used many different types of men with different types of personalities to lay his word bare.......some were meek, some full of love, some in your face with heat etc.....and God knows how to move us and at what times with particular emphasis upon character to make points needed to be made......If I tell a lost person they will burn in the lake of fire if they leave this world without Jesus...does that mean I don't love them?.....the problem is simple....society has been coddled and sissyfied to the point that anything negative hurts our "wittle" feelings and we need a binki and our nappies changed like every 30 seconds.......now watch how much heat I will get from this truth

Esther 4
13Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. 14For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

Truthfully I don't care how much heat you turn up as long as you can take whatever you dish out.

Double standards have always aggravated me.

It's nice that you ask what JESUS said we should do.
Sometimes I wonder if it wasn't Paul on that cross.
If we all went to the words of Jesus, plain and simple, we'd all agree.
The words of Paul are the words of Jesus and to say what you said reeks of the following...a lack of

a. faith
b. understanding
c. truth
d. honesty
e. biblical knowledge

There is a reason why it's called a DOUBLE EDGED sword.....the truth should cut both ways.

Steel sharpening steel....

A fire that burns away the dross....

All those I am okay with...

What I don't like is kicking someone while they are down and in need of love and comfort.

A time and place for everything and only through prayer and God's guidance can we know how to speak to others that will draw them towards God or help them tear down their spiritual strongholds.

Love the book...eapecially how the Jews defended themselves with weapons and not one was killed.....proof it is biblical to defend oneself and not wrong under certain circumstances haha

I draw the line at Jesus commandments to show love and the fact

I AM NOT JESUS AND CAN NOT SEE INTO PEOPLES HEARTS.

Therefore I treat others as God has treated me: with love and patience and kindness,
.he never called me those names...and I know I deserved many more labels before He convicted me of my sins,

No He showed me love, patience, gentleness and kindness.

It's what He expects me to show others.

How did God teach you His truths?
So when people say we should follow the example of Jesus, they really don't mean it, they mean, do what Jesus did but exclude certain things. This should be stated up front, like, do as Jesus did, except for this, this, this, and this. Funny how people give them self permission to do certain things but don't like to see others doing anything remotely similar! That is called hypocrisy, Ariel. I wonder how you would rationalize and justify calling me names. That is more a rhetorical question, really, so you needn't feel compelled to answer it. You and Fran...

Jesus did not sugar coat my sin. Did He yours? How can you acknowledge the magnitude of your sin if it is candy coated? If you don't see yourself for who you really are, how can you acknowledge sin? You say you cannot see into people's hearts but you judge them just the same.

Hi Ariel: Maybe this will illustrate my point. Two men are drowning and there is no possible way either one of them can save themselves. One man is laying face down in the water and is unconscious and a Savior comes along and pulls him out of the water, that is not how we get saved(without any effort on our part). The other man sees the Savior and appeals to him to save him and reaches out his hand when the Savior is near, that is how we get saved.

Nope both men already drowned and dead. Jesus rescues one and gives him CPR.

THAT is how we are saved.

All the views on salvation shared here I am sure is with the desire to be a blessing to someone...Whether it is correct or not is subject to the Bible and our willingness to allow God speak to us. I have shared this link of a video (an animation) on another thread... it gives a simple explanation of salvation:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b5aAGTNWNBA
As we draw closer to Him the more we will know all that salvation is...
1cor 13:12 "Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely."
