I wonder what one does with the people who work but are not saved:unsure::unsure:

What do they prove?
Jesus is quoted as saying to those professing their works at judgement time "begone I never knew you". That puzzled me when I was young but later understood a Christian would proclaim their faith not works. While works doesn't save they are proof of the faith. No works no faith.

Funny how take what Jesus states that their works did not prove faith and then turn it around to mean they had no faith?

In this verse, Salvation is the gift, the Greek makes this clear.

Nice attempt to twist though, I do give you credit for that.

It is salvation that cannot be earned.
Amen to that.......a person could do 30,000 good works a day in the name of Jesus and still bust hell wide open.....works do not save or keep saved.....they all peddle the same thing the MANY PEDDLE....Lord, Lord, have we not done.....blah blah blah in your name...........bad day for them coming

Before someone misunderstands you, I would like to add a little meaning to your statement.

If you are GENUINELY SAVED (past tense), you WILL in the future exhibit LOVE FOR GOD.

1 John 5:3 (HCSB)
3 For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden,

Now, if you DO LOVE GOD with that GODLY LOVE, the only way it is not a burden, is when you LOVE somebody to the extreme. Therefore, nothing you want to do for that person WILL feel like it is a burden.

Let me try this again, since I think misread what you have written. Why does Jesus require proof?

Fran, sometimes I sit here after reading one of your posts and I think, "no, I won't put her through the ringer because she just makes it too easy". You fancy yourself some great theologian, when in fact, you are a rank amateur. You constantly get swatted down, and come back to claim your posts weren't answered.

You make demands constantly, and when your demands are met (like just now when you asked for verses, and were provided them) you move the goal post. You make false statements about your own posting history (I'm so glad CC keeps the entire history of posts) as if we can't go and check them.

You should be embarrassed, but you don't possess the humility.
Personally, I must say she is one of the top 5 I have ever seen that vacillates worse than the waves on Bondi beach.....from salvation is not earned to it must be earned...to salvation is a free gift to it must be kept by works....a sad dogma indeed.....

Sorry VCO

I read no WILL in that verse?

Love is not coerced, believers make a choice daily.

The worst dogma of all......it will completely stunt your growth in Lord.

You will either fall into DESPAIR, SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS OR LEGALISM.

Had to use caps because I absolutely hate what this false dogma can do.

Actually I was looking for the sin of unbelief in Jesus.

But amen to your post above.

Jesus is the cure for our sin.
Both what I said and what you said is encapsulated into the one truth......repent means to change one's mind and agree with God.....the law condemns as guilty and points to the cure...faith in Christ......one must understand guilt before they can understand the cure.....

It never puzzled me.....they claim a faith works blend....Galatians...that gospel has no power to save.....Jesus never knew them....this goes to the very root which is salvation....they never had it even though they claimed to Know Jesus and had done many wonderful things in his name and for his name sake.....<--most religions embrace this path and exactly why the number is plenteous "many"....

Lord, Lord have we not DONE IN YOUR NAME!!

They prove that we are saved by the free grace through faith in Jesus. Grace is free so no one can boast of earning it. That works alone doesn't save since we can't earn our way to salvation.

At that time time I was in my early teens. I grew up in Christian home and at 6 I became a Christian and was baptized after spending a couple of hours with the minister convincing him I understood the gospel message. I have never looked back and maintained my conviction despite the trials I went through. One time I was in a men's group meet, meeting and the discussion became what each faced with struggles in life. After I told my story one man said he thought he had troubles. My wife and I adopted 4 siblings and went through 3 years dealing with 3 of them being sociopaths and losing them back to the system after they repeatedly ran away and were in 2 different mental health places. We had the best psychologist in a 5 county area and he failed for the first time with those three. At times I had suicidal thoughts but God carried me through. The verse footprints in the sand has much meaning to me.

Very judgemental indeed.

A man who gave his testimony about how Jesus transformed from drug addict and was healed and was used by God to help others.

His flesh was delivered and set free to walk with others.

People on here accuse you of being Peter Jens.

To be honest I thought that may be the case.

But given what I see you post and say I have to disagree.
Given that PJ & I have spoken off line at times I know he is not like you.

You accuse others and judge them.
You post a lot about yourself about where you were, where you are now.
You present many situations that you have found yourself in and how God has used you.

But when others do the same you judge.

"I am beginning to doubt you have" as said above.

VCO fully knows about the transformation that Jesus brings about in a person.
He has experienced it.

He probably has a T-shirt.

Drug addict, healed by Jesus and helping others.
Hi Bill,

I know nothing about anyone. It is so much better to talk in experiences of oneself.
The path anyone takes is their path, their reality.

I am not here to judge anyone, just share Jesus and His promise to cleanse and bring
us into His Kingdom. Strange how such a message to His people should bring so much
opposition. One would think if people listen to Jesus and the Holy Spirit, they would be
more open.

Why is it that the things of the spirit are like alien speak, that those who talk about life
and walking in it are enemies? So if one engages, shares, talks, like the enemy walks in.

God bless you

Fran, you claimed you never said that. Once again I proved you a liar. And anyone can go back and look at your posts where you teach we stay saved by obedience. You do little but constantly lie. You, who love to preach obedience to everyone else, yet can't seem to obey God yourself.

Careful. Remember where scripture said all liars go....(Revelation 21:8)

We are saved by obeying the Gospel

We remain saved by obeying His commandments and His doctrine, which is called the truth.

Obedience.

This is undeniable.

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 1 Peter 1:22-23

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 9

Brother, you are seriously living in denial.

The ones Jesus said begone to only mentioned works and never faith!!!
Again are you stating God does not know those who are His???

We do not need to prove our salvation to God, that seems very silly to me.

Actually I was looking for the sin of unbelief in Jesus.
But amen to your post above.
Jesus is the cure for our sin.
Here is the lie. Jesus was the atoning sacrifice for sin, but not to allow us to continue to sin.
It is like saying all slop buckets are no longer slop buckets but keeping them there.

No prophet, man of God ever continued in sin and did not face judgement.
What is the way of the Lord? Finding it. Religion and compromises are easy, being true to the
King is eternal. What you are offering is a mind change, a kind of insanity which white washes
behaviour but effects nothing.
