The funny thing about salvation losers (sic) is their absolute inability to grasp that sanctification is dual in usage......one is POSITIONALLY for ever and the other deals with out daily lives, is subject to successes and failures and directed at reward.....but hey...religion likes to keep men bound up while devaluing Christ, his promises and power........

Seems like making ten more or hundreds more or even thousands more new threads cannot solve the problem but we are slowly getting better at expressing our own thoughts even with ups and downs

I do not see this site as being that bad about ATTACKS.

Now I other non-charismatic Christians asked me to post my Study on A NON-CHARISMATIC UNDERSTANDING OF TONGUES, and I even posted
I DO NOT WANT A DEBATE ON THIS SUBJECT .
I thought it would be a quiet discussion among like minded Believers, AND THEN THE CHARISMATICS CAME and STOMPED AROUND MUDDYING the WATERS, and started hurling rocks and insults. Just like they always do.
It got down right Ugly on the Charismatic part. And all I did was present our point of view on the issue, and the Charismatics VICIOUSLY ATTACKED.

So this site is pretty tame compared to discussing tongues.

AMEN.....If it was discussion--->No problem.....but when the drivel comes out....Like saying we believe in a license to sin or greasy grace or a live as we please gospel etc.......or I see the word twisted so far out of context to teach a losable salvation or a die store salvation earned or maintained by man.......I cannot engage without lighting them up.....I am sick to death of people that devalue JESUS, HIS power, HIS promises and then drag his righteousness, blood, his sacrifice and promises through the mud of religious ineptitude and a false gospel that steals glory from GOD and places it squarely on the shoulders of man........

MANY will say in that day.....LORD LORD have we not DONE.............makes me want to puke

No, not in the least. You see, the CDC rules mandated, that we NEVER could discuss Denominational Barriers. AND tongues was the number one Barrier that we had to stay away from. You do not want an argument among inmates in the CHAPEL, when one of them may have a weapon on him. Never had an argument in my Chapel, but there was a murder in another Chapel. Yes, for our safety we had whistle, an alarm on our belt, and a broom closet with the door slightly set ajar that was locked. The hardest part of training was we had to learn to Pray with our eyes open, so that you can be a witness to any incident that goes on in the Chapel.

How does focusing on Jesus leads to growth?

Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I had a Bible Teacher that explained that verse this way: He said the GREEK WORD for FIX carries with it an intensity of the word FIX, that the only equivalent translation that he could think of is: Let us super glue our eyes on Jesus.

The more you do that, will naturally cause our human spirit to mature.

The word gives us a little insight.....means to look away from everything else to see clearly...that thing being JESUS

aphoraó: to look away from all else at
Original Word: ἀφοράω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: aphoraó
Phonetic Spelling: (af-or-ah'-o)
Definition: to look away from all else at
Usage: I look away from (something else) to, see distinctly.

YEP, HE is to be our FOCUS/FAITH, HE did it all. So Super Glue would be an appropriate translation.

I guess what really baffles me, is how they can call themselves Christians, led by the Holy Spirit in their heart, when the FRUIT they bare, is the OPPOSITE.

Galatians 5:13-21 (NIV)
13 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

? ? ?
And where IS their Love?

salvation is by grace through faith not of works. not by works of righteousness. once and done no need for maintenance

you start in Spirit end in Spirit. if you end in the self-effort you are trying to replace Jesus as savior or be co-savior. its evil. God's testimony is He has given us eternal life, if you dont believe it you arent saved most likely

Agreed! (y)

And I would say that this text (Hebrews 12:2) is speaking of Him as risen, glorified, exalted...

just as in this one:

"18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

[Eph1:20-23 - "20 which He worked in Christ, having raised Him out from the dead, and having set Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 above every principality and authority and power and dominion, and every name being named, not only in this age, but also in the one coming [singular]. 22 And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of the One filling all in all."]

It is actually a deep truth that many have not grasped.......in order to see clearly we MUST look away from everything else.......a very interesting truth that also applies to vision.....

We only really see what we are actually focusing on....everything in our peripheral vision is being filled in by our brain......now apply that.....haha TO SEE CLEARLY we must LOOK away from everything that we SEE and FOCUS on Christ.....

Gives a whole new view to that which we see is temporal, not made of what it appears to be made of and we walk not by sight but by faith........... ;)

AGAIN......The many will come before the throne boasting in their many wonderful works in the name of JESUS while claiming him as LORD.......JESUS plainly states that he never knew them.....they were never saved and lost it...this goes to the root of their gospel......they blended belief with works for access to the kingdom.....this is a losing bet......

It is faith that saves a man...NO strings attached..............said salvation cannot be topped off or finished by works, nor can it be lost like a dime in the park........

Jesus was clear....we are saved to the uttermost and kept by the power of God through the faith he begins, finishes and completes in us......end of story.

Receive it by faith or stand with the above mentioned MANY that do not make the cut!
