Then why Matt 5 did Jesus state the Law of Moses and turn around and say " But I say" and make that law so much stricter? Jews didn't have the Holy Spirit, they had the law. The Comforter didn't come until AFTER Jesus died. That is why they had the day of atonement. But you search it out in the Word, DC says I know nothing so take that into consideration
Can I put this to you?

Jesus did not make the law much stricter.
He portrayed the true intent of the law to reveal to those who used and abused the the law as it was given.

The people of the day and before the day probably could not read.
So they were taught by the teachers of the day.

Matthew 5:21

21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’

"You have heard it said"
Not you have read.

Which is why I believe he said the below in V20

Matthew 5:20
20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

He then goes onto correct what they had heard to explain the true intent of the law given.

But before he does he says

Let's look at one of the issues addressed in Matthew 5.

Matthew 5:43-45

Love Your Enemies
(Luke 6:27, 28, 32–36)
43 “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

So Jesus said "You have heard that it was said"

Did God say hate your enemy?
If so we have a problem, because if he did then Jesus is contradicting God.
If so then they cannot be one.

So we find

Leviticus 19:18
18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

So those who interpreted the law maybe used it as an excuse to hate their enemy?
There is nothing in the above telling them to hate or take vengeance on the enemy.

Yet we find

Exodus 23:4-5
4 “If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again. 5 If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying under its burden, and you would refrain from helping it, you shall surely help him with it.

I cannot find anything in the Torah where God says "Hate your enemies"

So to me the law was not made stricter.
It's the true intent, the spirit of the law that Jesus unlocks.
The same law that God has written on our hearts.

Hebrews 10:16-18
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” 17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

Funny how many cannot simply accept the fact that the TARES are blended in with the WHEAT by the DEVIL........

God's word explains it perfectly.... His children have used His word to explain this very thing over the last few pages so many times it literally makes me sad for those who can not see what God clearly gave to us...

AMEN...NO PEACE and or HOPE in a salvation that can be lost or must be maintained by man........
Interesting theory, except believers I know have security and not this no peace and no hope.
I suppose what else can you think takes place as it is outside your own experience. God bless you,
never was such a testimony of truth declared so clearly. Amen.

MANY are called <-----does not equal ALL
FEW are chosen <-----EVEN less than the MANY
The wicked go astray from the womb
The Lord made the wicked for the day of evil and he SAVED those that would believe BIBLICALLY before the foundation of the earth was even laid

Salvation losers and workers for cannot accept the above truths......

I have seen people like this invent their own theology as they talk about it as a group.
It is so disjointed because they have invented it on the fly, has no theologians or positions.
It is why it can morph into something else, because it has no foundation in Christ.

It unfortunately leads me to distrust these people, from being friendly to saying one is satanic
and evil almost in the same breadth. I have experience of people shifting like this from friend
to foe, and know how dangerous this is if taken as a reality.

If someone regards you as worse than a murderer, and they feel empowered to physically stop
you, ones life is in danger. Would you stay in a house with someone who could flip if you know
they are armed and have a history of hostility? I would say no.
No. I would not.

I am asking a question not of God but really about you and your understanding of God and His
declared intent.

I have no problem with God forgiving the world and drawing them all into heaven, or taking
people who say amen to him, along with Him.

You want though to put upon me "upset" "snarky" attributes.

Jesus said to His disciples they had to eat His flesh and drink His blood to follow Him.
Many left because He said this.

Jesus repeated words about obedience, following His commands, being cleansed and purified.
The whole jewish faith and Moses's law is about obedience and behaviour crucial to Gods heart.

To put openness without these realities is to ignore Jesus and God.
It’s sad that you seem to believe whoever does not agree with you is disobedient to God. Some people would call that a God complex.

That is the last staw. Now you have earned a trip to my Ignore List, by your Unteachable Stubborn Nature, and constant DIVISIVENESS.

Jesus said TWO TIMES IN MATTHEW CHAPTER 7:

Matthew 7:13-23 (ESV)
13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction,
and those who enter by it
are many.
14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are
few.
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
16
You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.
18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20
Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 On that day
many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
23 And then will I declare to them,
‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Sitting on a Church Pew does not make you a Christian,
Any more than sitting in a Garage would make you a CAR.

Your are Deceived, and Divisive, so I have to be obedient to these VERSES and Put on my IGNORE LIST.

Titus 3:9-11 (HCSB)
9 But avoid foolish debates, genealogies, quarrels, and disputes about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.
10 Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning,
11 knowing that such a person is perverted and sins, being self-condemned.
Suprised it took ya so long

Does a tare know it is a tare? I think not.
Paul calls us to test ourselves, but I am sure the tares never dare do this, because the confusion would not
be able to be coped with. It also brings in a odd conclusion about choice, destiny and lostness.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Romans 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

(The Word of God is the Bible, Jesus is the Living Word Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. have you ever gone and read what happen to the law of Moses when Jesus got a hold of if? It is very enlightening as to what the kingdom of God is all about. Do you realize how lax and loose the law of Moses was comparted to the law from Jesus?)

Romans 10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

Romans 10:19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

Romans 10:20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

Romans 10:21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
What’s your point?

Jesus talked about persevering to the end to be saved:

Mat 10:22 (LEB) and you will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end—this one will be saved.

Luk 13:24 Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able to.

Scriptures talk about the crown of life, which is received when that person is APPROVED:

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the person who endures testing, because when he is approved he will receive the crown of life that he has promised to those who love him.

Rev 2:10 Do not be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and you will experience affliction ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

... but the opportunity to get THAT CROWN can be lost:

Rev 3:11 I am coming quickly! Hold fast to what you have, so that no one may take away your crown.

David was anointed with spirit of God:

1Sa 16:13 (NET) So Samuel took the horn full of olive oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers. The Spirit of the LORD rushed upon David from that day onward. Then Samuel got up and went to Ramah.

... but when he sinned about Bathsheba, he asked God that the spirit he had received was not withdrawn:

Psa 51:10 Create for me a pure heart, O God!
Renew a resolute spirit within me!
11 Do not reject me!
Do not take your Holy Spirit away from me!
12 Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance!
Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey!

Paul and Peter knew about not being saved even if once that person had the chance and about the effort to get those promises which are giving as gift:

2Pe 1:10 (ESV) Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.
11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Heb 10:26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.

Paul talked about being christian as a race to get a prize, not like a prize giving without efforts:

1Co 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.
25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.
27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Jesus sacrificed himself to give an opportunity. Some want to use that chance. They must work to reach the end of the christian race, not acting like they already had finished and got the prize. The christian way is a race that goes on parts, and the last part is receiving the crown of life. Before the end, someone can fall and not get the prize ... as all these Scriptures clearly show.

We can not look at the Scriptures trying to justify ourselves, but to watch carefully what is expected of a real christian< it is not about us, but about the truth and if we are on it, to get its benefits, i.e. the promises.

I have to laugh, are we all born sinners, though some are now saints.
Disagreeing with me or agreeing is every bodies choice, I condemn no one, I just want to share Gods word.
I hold it is between God and each individual where they personally are.

I am a humble follow of Jesus my King and am grateful of His work in my life. God forbid me of sinning against
Him to take His place in judgement, for that would be very wrong. I do know His word and will share with anyone
who asks or where the Lord leads me to share. We are called as His ambassadors ready to answer on His behalf.
As a believer are you not aware of this role for His people.

Amen.

Just not the way you are seeing it. Your ignoring context. Context is the great tribulation. Not eternal life for all people in all times.

AMEN.............have you noticed the plethora of scripture that gets rejected, denied, twisted, skewed or just flat stomped on by those that peddle a losable salvation that must be maintained by man...even the definitions of words are just simply swept aside like the Japanese Zeros at the great Mariannas Turkey Shoot in WW2.......

It is impossible to engage some of these people when the very definitions of words are just flat ignored.......

How can you judge what he understands of the meaning of the Word. You may believe you "know the truth" but there is a lot written BY GOD that points in another direction. Because he does not hold your beliefs he is wrong?? What if the path GOD set for him is different? Who are you to judge another mans servant. I may be wrong, God judge me.
That theory the Devil will like. Then he can smuggle in the any FALSE DOCTRINE HE WANTS and get it Preached from the Pulpits.

Look how Paul dealt with FALSE DOCTRINE:

Acts 20:28-31 (NRSV)
28 Keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock, of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.
29 I know that after I have gone, savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Some even from your own group will come distorting the truth in order to entice the disciples to follow them.
31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to warn everyone with tears.

1 Timothy 1:18-20 (NASB)
18 This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight,
19 keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.
20 Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme.

Matthew 7:15-16 (HCSB)
15 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.
16 You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

Matthew 10:16-19 (NASB)
16 "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.
17 "But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues;
18 and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
19 "But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say.

Jude 1:3-4 (HCSB)
3 Dear friends, although I was eager to write you about the salvation we share, I found it necessary to write and exhort you to contend for the faith that was delivered to the saints once for all.
4 For some men, who were designated for this judgment long ago, have come in by stealth; they are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into promiscuity and denying Jesus Christ, our only Master and Lord.

So, are we to LISTEN TO THE SCRIPTURES, or listen to your Liberal Teachings ? ? ?
