If you read the passage in context...

This is the second miracle involving a catch of fish. The first was when Jesus called Peter to be a fisher of men

Three questions of affirmation in contrast to the three denials of Peter

The repeated commission to “ feed my sheep/lambs”

Peter using phileo instead of agape. Agape is a a love that is willing to lay down life, phileo is a much weaker word

Jesus telling Peter about how he would die a martyr

These are all things to take into consideration when interpreting the text

It’s observing the text before you interpret it
Sounds like direct quotes from a commentary to me......condensed of course....

Called factual statements....NOT surmising....NO ONE can judge MOTIVE unless STATED clearly....and the TEXT does not support motive from Peter's perspective no matter how many times you blather on about it....
His projections are unceasing.

Get rid sounds so negative.

We simply read Galatians 2:9 literally: John, together with Peter and James, agreed to restrict their ministry to the Jews only and agreed to let Paul and Barnabas be ministers to the gentiles.
Agreed to let them hey......hilarious....I am confident that JESUS called PAUL and set him to minister to the GENTILES....HE NEEDED no approval from anyone....

Oh I know.....I have never seen anyone that surmises, guesses, embellishes and then promotes as factual truth as much as he does.......NO ONE can point out PETER'S motive for saying what he said....it is utter ridiculous...

Not sure why he is mouthing yet again.....one of these days he will pay the price.....and his over all statement is false concerning the Greek verb tense.....it depends WHICH verb tense is being used at the time.....some like the perfect tense sets forth a present continuing result from a past completed action.....yes...1st John concerning sin in a believer primarily points to a continual lifestyle of sin...…….
can you say some example of perfect tense setting forth a present continuing result from a past completed action. that would be eye opening

dont know if that can even be done in english language lolz. i had to read it twice to make sure i writee it right.

And then breaks out adorable pictures in insulting manners yet preaches grace and being perfected, except of course when we’re not being perfect. 😆

Brother there are all kinds of examples and they are used in numerous places to describe salvation which comes across this way...

I was saved the moment I believed
I am saved right now
I am continuing to be saved into the future

A present continuing result from a past completed action.........

John 3:16 <--Is having everlasting life.....

The good news in all that is that "Not by Works" has yet to be refuted and never will be!!

No, I did not read commentaries until after. But if you use sound exegesis, a good sound commentary will agree with you most times. 😉

If you come up with views that no one has ever heard of, and nobody holds but you and the small group of fish in your small pond, you probably aren’t getting the intended meaning of the text

So says the guy who disagrees with someone’s interpretation on a text, but cannot provide his own interpretation

I get it. You only deal with a verse here and a verse there. I’ve never seen you deal with a text using context

You see but do not observe. That’s because you do not deal with texts contextually

What word did Peter use the third time? Phileo or agape?
Phileo. Jesus used phileo the third time

Peter uses phileo all three times. Jesus used agape twice and phileo the third time

I know they weren’t speaking Greek, but there is a reason John used the words that he did.

So nothing wrong with interacting with the text

Present continuing result describes a TYPE of action too. A continuous action as a result of past action is referring to type of action, not time. See how you are?
