What I don't get is why would you call someone else a liar rather than just say I should have used a different term?

Just own it. Take responsibility.

I know he just meant it as a figure of speech. But apparently that figure of speech was taboo on this thread. That's what happens when you come in at page 2000 and then don't come back until page 5000.

You miss some pretty important stuff.

Like what's the actual score? 5500 to 0? Did we have halftime yet?
Read the post. I said it about an argument, not a person.

So what do we call it when a person says something negative about a persons argument, and someone else calls says you said it about the person?

It’s not called truth.

Yup exactly what I told him.

The other side.... the informal use of "insane" means beyond ordinary .... so now he has been educated on the word and its meaning.
Rule of language. Context determines definition when a word has more than one definition. Insane often means shocking or outrageous.

I was in the past called a legalist and a Pharisee for teaching grace. That falls under the category of shocking and outrageous. So the word I used to describe such argumentation was fitting

Yes and it also can mean shocking and outrageous. Context determines meaning of a word with more than one possible meaning

People are so eager to prosecute me on one hand and to defend DC when he misbehaves, like when he accuses someone of name calling when the person attacked the argument, not the person, they’re so eager to do these two things that they will flat out ignore rules of language

This place lacks objectivity. It’s as rare as flying pink elephants with some

Calling a post a name is not the same as calling a person insane, especially when the posts I was referring to were blatant attacks

GB9 has called me names for months. But I call one of HIS POSTS a name and people throw a fit

Read gb9s posts to me.

Btw, Are you a Calvinist, Grandpa?
I have agreed with the tenets of Calvinism. I haven't seen anything that I have disagreed with yet. So I guess, yes, I'm a Calvinist.

And BTW, I knew what you meant when you posted about a certain post being insane. It was a figure of speech.

But instead of trying to get off on a technicality you could have just explained that you should have used different terminology. So that no one would get the wrong idea...

But I understand that things have been pretty heated between you guys.

I think Even non Calvinists agree with Calvinism on some points
Yeah sometimes I would say so. I wonder if I sound more Calvinist or Arminian. I like listening to a pastor John Piper sometimes. He says he is a Calvinist but I don't call myself a Calvinist.

but, where you are dead wrong, where lordship salvation is a total lie and farce.

the EVIDENCE of that regeneration will look different in all people, some show instant results , some takes time .

Ok. I should have used a different word. I will applogize to GB9

But what I said doesn’t add up to calling GB9 insane. The people who said that ( not you) need to read more carefully.

99percent of the things people say about me are due to them not reading my posts without prejudice

I have demonstrated this time and time again

It’s a practice with a certain subdivision of professes Christianity’s small sample within a certain group. James White and Jeff Durbin have discussed it a few months ago. I just heard it today

I was shocked and understood better at the same time. Because they mentioned numerous things that they were accused of, and they were the exact same things that I have been accused of here.

I was like wow, that sounds familiar! 😂

I believe both systems have elements of truth, but both systems have elements that I cannot or at least have a very difficult times accepting

I am listening to James White and Jeff Durbin, and they are talking about a small section, (not the whole bunch of course) of IFB preachers that are attacking White and Durbin, and it’s hilarious that White and Durbin are saying the same things I’ve been saying and the ones who are attacking them are saying the same things that people are accusing me of.

It’s radio free Geneva, response to IFB/KJV only

White and Durbin are very careful to say that it’s not all IFBs. My dad was an IFB and he was right on. But it is a small section of IFBs

So basically I am being attacked for believing the same thing as Spurgeon, because in another video the same people attack Spurgeon

I guess that I am dealing with accusations from the same schism that White and Durbin are being attacked for

Same words on both sides

I know White and Durbin don’t teach works salvation

That’s why I say even though I am not a Calvinist, I can have nice conversations with Calvinists and we can disagree civilly. But when you start dealing with some of these people here, everyone that’s not one of them is twisting the Word. They’re going to Be very surprised when they see the people they accuse of twisting the Word in heaven with them and they have to worship Jesus together WITH US. 🙂

actually, I was incorrect in part of my post you quoted. regeneration is instant.

but, where you are dead wrong, where lordship salvation is a total lie and farce.

the EVEIDENCE of that regeneration will look different in all people . some show instant results , some takes time .

so, since you will not agree with what I just said, the clear Biblical truth of salvation by grace FOR good works, then by default you push, lordship salvation pushes, attaches works TO salvation instead of properly saying works are a RESULT of salvation, salvation being by belief.

so, you DO teach works salvation, because you attach a " works are evidence of salvation " lie to salvation.

and, you will be a works salvationist until you stop pushing this lie.

John 1:12 (YLT)
12 but as many as did receive Him to them he gave authority to become sons of God--to those believing in his name,

DID RECEIVE HIM AS WHAT ? ? ?

Colossians 2:6 (NIV)
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord [.The meaning of the word is MASTER.], continue to live in him,

Romans 10:8-10 (NASB)
8 But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9 that if you confess [.It is not a CONFESSION, unless it happens in your heart, when you OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM, you willing you RECIEVE HIM as MASTER.] with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; [👈 You SEE Salvation happens after You have received HIM as LORD. The deception is the easy believism FALSE GOSPEL of Receiving Him as SAVIOUR, and latter you can submit to Him as LORD, if you want to.]
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

I know no other way to Genuine SALVATION.

I’m not disagreeing with your good post, just kind of adding a little. I think It is the work of God that moves our will not only to trust Christ, but also submit to Him. Not that God forces us, but there is a drawing that God does before we believe that results in faith in some and not in others. Why that is is not as relevant as the point that God does the saving not us, so we just bring the Gospel and trust Christ to do the rest

Decisional regenerationists tend to use persuasive arguments and gimmicks, but the apostles only preached the Gospel and the Lord added to the church daily

I know your not one of these. So this is not directed at you. Just thoughts that your post produced

However, decisional regenerationists, is a VERY BIG WORD.

When you are dealing with the unsaved or babies in CHRIST,

KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. And the way I decribed the GOSPEL, is as simple as it gets.
