the pisteuo man is back. did you notice that word is used for false non-saving faith in james? its the faith (belief) that demons have it says? thats the same word as your nickname in the greek.

hahahaha

glad to have you back. faithing your way to the kingdom
There is only faithing towards God, " pisteuo ". Or faithing away from God, " Apisteuo ". Apisteuo or faithing away from God is anything other than a Continually surrendered life! Such as " believing" in God's word!

Got to put the "a" in front to reverse the action! Have a resemblance of a clue before you speak.

Considering you KNOW none of us, so have no basis for which to judge, you just stuck your foot in your mouth again, (once again we hardly even spoke if your who you say you are)

you will get yours one day,

ya got to love people who think they know others based on a few conversations in the internet :ROFL::ROFL:
I was curious if you had me on block. :)
But anyway, you mocked me and so off to the time out corner you went.
It's never fruitful to entertain mockers like you.
And besides, Christ told me not to.

I thought it was a verb related to a noun.

The verb is to believe in the noun.

So my understanding is that it's belief in Jesus.

I know there are two words for faith in the Greek. Pistis & Pisteou.

I read somewhere that basically is means to believe/entrust in Jesus for salvation which will follow through with actions concerning said faith.

I may have got the verb/noun wrong.
I was never good at understanding such things.
Pistis is the noun = where we get our noun " Faith ".

Pisteuo is the corresponding verb to the noun Pistis. But the English language doesn't have a corresponding verb to the noun Faith like the Greek does for the noun Pistis.

The English language should have had the words faithe, faither, and faithing for the translators to use, but they weren't! So the translators needed to choose a word that would come close to the original. They chose the words believe, believer, and believing.

Pisteuo or the application of the noun Pistis or Faith is an act, based upon a Belief, sustained by confidence. So " believing" is a part ofthe complete definition, but taken on it's own is error.

Lol, I think you're right.

No offense, @Pisteuo, but you're coming across as a life drain, not a conduit to life.

I trust in Jesus' blood as the way God can and has forgiven my sin and brought me into fellowship with Him through the Holy Spirit.
Hey, maybe there's Hope for you! A Continually surrendered life to Christ and living a life inpired by such surrender "a life drain", is the only way to receive the Spirit of Christ.

Oh, wrong question! Your out.

Just go by what the Bible itself defines 'faith' as being. That's what I do.

"1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. " Hebrews 11:1 KJV

Faith is the knowledge that something you can't see is true. That 'alone' never saved anybody, and never will. You have to trust in what faith shows you to be true in order to be saved. The confusion comes in because we call that 'having faith'.

Which part? The one that gave His only begotten Son, or the one who killed 50 thousand because one person opened the ark of the covenant without a covering?

I really would like to stay on the understanding of what true Faith is, and how it's applied.

You obviously don't know that the words believe, believer, and believing are mistranslations. No such words in the Greek language! No such words in the original texts!
If you know Jesus, you know the Father.

I did not mock you, unless having a different opinion is mocking,

and before you judge you have to look inside, you mock us every time you say we believe or say things we do not.

God did not tell you anything. That’s just an excuse, if you can not handle us having a different opinion. That’s on you not us,

If your taking the words " believe, believer, or believing" on their own for anything associated with salvation or recieving the Spirit of Christ, your being deceived!
There is more to being a Son of God than simply believing.

Oh, and by the way. They define the believing that saves as believing that you can not lose your salvation. It's a subtle twist on the truth. Well, maybe not so subtle, but still a twist nonetheless.
No, we define faith as true living faith, which saves, and changes people’s lives, and makes us new creatures, unable because of our new nature to fall back into our old selves, and since the one we entrust our faith in, will never let us down we would never even think of losing faith, because the one who is faithful In The cross, is also faithful in his promise.

was not not you who said I mocked, here you just mocked my belief with a lie.

again, judge not lest he be judged,

Brother... You understand the simplicity that is in Christ.

Humility holds more weight than any long winded dispute over semantics regarding a language from a time we did not live in. The Holy spirit will teach all of His how He sees fit.

We know His voice and we follow Him. (He wouldn't let one of His sheep go too far if they were to wander)

I hope you have a lovely new year.😁

In this life, the image of God in the earthly Christ. That part.
There is a battle that is coming when we believers will take the gloves off.

I know more than you think.
I know that we use the word 'faith' when what we are really talking about is 'believing'.

That's why we have to go back to the Bible's definition of 'faith'. It's a noun.
Meanwhile, 'believing' is a verb. It's the action you may or may not perform in response to the thing called 'faith'.
But don't get confused when the Bible uses the word 'faith' when talking about 'believing'.
I do not have to take my gloves off, Jesus fights my battles, and he has already won the victory,

Your view of faith can be lost, thats not faith, that’s wish wishy washy, it comes and goes. And may stop altogether

Context has to be considered when defining the application of those words.

In regard to salvation, 'believing' implies 'trusting'.
Trusting that the blood of Christ forgives all of your sin, not just knowing that it will.
Fake 'believers', and devils who 'believe' aren't doing that kind of believing.
Hey you have something here

we believe, no we are assured Christ forgives all our sins, it is our hope as scripture says, faith is the substance of things hoped for not see.

so how can you believe in a faith that can be lost?

"1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

How does simply knowing something is true save a person???
Not to open a can of worms, but James calls that 'faith alone', and says that can not save a man. Even the demons know the truth about Jesus. And that didn't save them.

Surely, it's the trusting you do in response to the knowing of faith that secures the forgiveness of God in Christ.
Ah yes

when will you have faith in your hope. The hope of eternal life which god, who cannot lie promised before time began

If you know Jesus, you know the Father.
But no pisteuo = no Spirit of Christ. No Spirit of Christ = no Christ. No Christ = no word or promises. = No Father.

One more thing Bill.

The verbs believe, believer, and believing are corresponding verbs to the noun "Belief", not the noun" Faith".

Yup!

Vines, " pisteuo means a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender."

I call it " saving Faith" a Continually surrendered life.
