Amen, James said righty so....and the half brother of James condemned organized religion and called them the blind leaders of the blind and white washed coffins filled with the bones of dead men....
There is a difference between the religions of the world and the Church...at least there should be.

I was referring to the religion Jesus talked about in john 10.10, the one that is a thief that comes to steal, kill and destroy
I am sorry I don't get it.

Jesus is the Head of the church and His teachings are the foundation for the Christian religion...

He is our shepherd and has annointed some caretakers for His sheep.
.However some only do it for the pay or are wolves. Yet we have faithful men of God who protect the sheep and help them grow into maturity in Christ.

John 10
12He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

Jimbo we still need to be forgiven and washed clean daily by spending time in God's presence.

Do you just give your kids a bath once their whole life?

However Jesus only had to die once to pay for all our sins. His blood is that powerful.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

The wolves are organized religion and are thieves.

There is nothing wrong with organization..it's one of God's spiritual gifts to His church: administration has to do with organizing and paperwork. Its important for the local body to have people blessed with various gifts and for us all to learn and work together for God's glory.

1 Corinthians 12
28And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.

My view is the above bolded word is misleading...Christianity is a way of life not a religion........IMV

The Bible calls it religion. I thought we went by the Bible?

It just seems wrong to give up words that God uses to describe something good to only refer to something bad..,.like the word altar....it's not that all altars are evil...it's who/what is being worshiped at the altar.

Same way Religion is not evil..,,only who does the religion teach you to worship and place your trust in.

Does that make any sense?

Other than James....show one place where it states that Christianity is organized religion....in principle it is a way of life......
Yeah Buddhist say Buddhism is a way of life too so I don't see how that is different. Every other person of other religions make the same claim.

As I said before...it's not "organized religion" that is evil....it's if they are not worshiping God or teaching a false gospel..,then its evil.

Most other religions isolate people and have them strive to be individually holy...,Jesus taught us that we are to be one unique part of His Body, joined by ONE Holy spirit and we need to learn to work together.

.I feel that gets lost when people attack the Church.

Which is a type of "organized religion"
