@OneOfHis Stop misrepresenting what others say, it is bearing false witness. Also, actually read what others are agreeing with instead of attacking first, only to, after calming down and being shown your mistake, you’re proven to be attacking a person for, um, believing what you believe. It's foolish of you to do this. Go read some Proverbs.
Why are you being a hypocrite?

You have only imputed meaning to my words. In this thread and the last one we spoke in.

This seems to be a way of life for you.

Please stop talking to me until you address your lies about me.

There are more to look through.

P4t will obviously agree with whatever suits his motive though. "they came against me for agreeing with one thing😭"

Nope.
I said "God does not need evidence" to an open forum mostly in response to elo who said He said then partly to judges who constantly implies WE need to see works.

Maybe half a dozen times in the last week I have said works of righteousness which we do themselves can at most be seen as evidence by men.

I absolutely agree
I find this very disturbing truth be told... the allegiance by some on this thread is based on a shared belief of "salvation by grace through faith apart form works" and it is not a gang mentality as keeps being charged.

Again more irony... considering this new allegiance between one who adamantly pushes salvation can be lost and one who holds firm to OSAS.

Remember a couple weeks ago when I joined this forum and @EleventhHour and I got into this huge fight because nobody understood what I meant?

And how justified I was in acting like a huge jerk?

Did I miss that?

I do remember an argument but I remember saying I believe you to be an honest and genuine person.

(i also never saw you act like a jerk... definitely more mature than i am)

It would be much better if you went back in this thread and read and reconsider your allegiance with @Judges1318.

Because I seriously do not believe you agree with him ... his foundation is completely faulty and he preaches a false gospel from the start.

Id rather be sweet to everyone... I just get frazzled when people lie about what i say and lie about what i meant.

it is ok to assume but if i correct you about what I WAS SAYING and like p4t you just go on making up stories imputing intent and frankly lying against Gods children.. whats the point of discussion?

Actually the argument was between @VCO and I, and the two of us were able to work out an agreement. And even though there were misunderstandings between the two of us and minor hostilities exchanged, I don't think either of us were quite this proud.

I have gone back and read what you wrote with regards to @Judges1318 and you were absolutely right in your understanding of his words.

There are deeper issues at play here and I really think it has little to do with doctrine.... the same ole scenario keeps playing out on this thread people come back to make a point and vindicate themselves.

what a joke

She proved he said what she claimed
and proved p4t false claims against me wrong...

he claimed i didnt know what a strawman was, i did know

he suggested i implied he thought God needed to see evidence to know who is His, i never did

he outright fabricated an entire story about me "calming down" and "admitting i agree" or so some nonsense, never happened

last we spake he said a believer can finish the bible very quickly without spending much time a day

i agree but i just wanted to share a thought :some people, like me, approach the bible in a way to learn and grow and are less focused on "finishing" it and it took me almost two years to read the bible but i read it upwards of 10 hours most days (which is true i was under the bondage of sinless perfection like elo)

he took that as me saying it is unreasonable to say a christian cant read the bible that fast even if they spent as much time as me🤦‍♂️

no

i didnt disagree with him

i shared my experience on a forum to encourage OTHERS to focus more on learning whats in it than saying "finished"

It is not our works we look to but His works in us.
Hey, OOH.
Where in these verses does it even remotely refer to YOUR works (or mine)?
"13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." - 1 John 5:13
What things did he write so that we may know we have eternal life?
These things:

"This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did." - 1 John 2:5-6

"10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister." - 1 John 3:10

"14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other." - 1 John 3:14

"18Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
19This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence" - 1 John 3:18-19

"Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God." - 1 John 4:7

if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit." - 1 John 4:12-13

"Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus." - 1 John 4:16-17

"2This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands." - 1 John 5:2

The changed life is how you know you have eternal life inside of you.

Did you see this......

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." - 1 John 5:13

This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit." - 1 John 4:12-13

Do I read anything about works being attached to knowing we have eternal life.

All these verses point to God as the source of our affirmation....... not our works!
