God likes it when we show love for one another. That is my motive. And what is more, He actually said that those who keep his teaching, the Father will love and they will come and make our home in them. I long ago moved beyond salvation to loving God with my being as my desire. There is more to the Kingdom of God than salvation, assuring yourself you got it, worring if you are losing it and thanking God you are going to Heaven.

I can assure you, that without holiness, (works), shall no one see God. But one cannot make up what good works He will like. Doesn't work that way either. They might be saved and going to heaven. But instead of hearing "well done" they might hear something much less pleasant.

What works is God pleased with? Obedience to Him. I know that is not directly answering your question but your question assumes thoughts I just do not have at all. I do not think of my salvation anymore. I think of obeying Him each day as it appears to be desired and that takes up all my thinking time when it comes to these matters.
The term holiness in Hebrews 12:14 is more accurately described as sanctification..... not works.
https://biblehub.com/greek/38.htm

More properly the term holiness is actually hosiotés, tightly correlated with pistis (faith).
https://biblehub.com/greek/3742.htm
https://biblehub.com/greek/4102.htm

The term works is of course not found in Hebrews 12:14.
https://biblehub.com/greek/2041.htm

By the way salvation comes before works, and only then are given the sanction of God. Just thought I'd let you know. And works done outside of the sphere of salvation are meaningless and irrelevant at best and an offense to God at worst.

So tell us: do you love Israelites with agape love? Do you love Jerusalem and the land of Israel?
Do you love the absolute fact that God has eternal love for Israel and is going to redeem them for eternity?

Three questions, three yes or no answers will suffice!

I have always used the name Dorothy in any site I posted on. But there are people who think like me in this world. They love God very deeply and that might be what you see as a "twin." Does that mean you dispise me? SOunds like it.

Yep you are that person I knew from that old bible site. I knew it. You seem to be easily offended. You also sound as if you are in a "special" group who loves God. There are many of us who love the Lord.

Discuss the topic, not the users guys
This was pretty funny, appealing to the "audience" ..................do you not have a sense of humor...com'on now.

Bring forth a scripture and then I will respond to your question.
Dorothy Mae has no sense of humor and it is her way or the highway. I dealt with her many times on a now defunct bible site.

Sweet of you to back down but you were right. Obedience definitely produces faith. That because one exercises real faith to obey and the outcome strengthens faith.

Thanks for that DorothyMae...I wasn’t quite sure...that’s why I backed down.

You will find it difficult to get an intelligent answer regarding blantant sin in the lives of believers that one can acccept without some turning off the mind.

If a christian decides to murder, the possible answers for OSAS are:

was never saved judging by deeds done later in life
remains saved the same no matter what evil they do

That’s it. The concept of shipwrecking your faith, falling away from the faith, putting the hand to the plough but turning back or deciding on a course but realizing you changed your mind as the price is too high is not an option for them.
When someone asks if they’re going to heaven if they are saved, what part of they are saved do you not understand?

I have talked with numerous OSAS believers. Lots and lots of them. And one thing that has marked many of them, but not all, is a very hateful attitude towards anyone who does not believe in OSAS.
That’s interesting because I see the hatred coming from Pharisees who regard themselves as better than others.

How did you understand obedience?

the law God showed you,

or the way some church showed you?

ie, what is true obedience

True obedience stems from a transformed heart.....which can only come from God.....a daily transforming of my heart.

I have found that once I understood obedience....that is when my relationship changed dramatically with the Lord.....all to glorify him of course.
I have found that once I understood grace....that is when my relationship changed dramatically with the Lord.....all to glorify Him of course.

Well I could go back and provide the hateful posts some OSAS believers posted here. Hypocrites can also post hateful ones but these are more rare. Or maybe Im not sure who you mean.
