This limits the Word in its application as is, only under that soecial circumstance does faith without works apply. And then there is the Greek application that really eviscerates the counsel the HS is giving.

James is saying if there is no evidence of your believing in what you choose to do, a faith that once was alive is now dead. They once had a faith but it is now a corpse.

Hmmmm how does that fit in with OSAS? I guess works are an optional extra because for them, faith can never be born and then die. A born again believer can never not have faith for OSASers, right? Then how come James describes this faith once alive but now a corpse as a possibility?
Isn’t faith a heavenly substance Dottie? Do you mind me calling you that? It’s just I knew right away it was you. And I like Dottie better but will drop it if you disapprove.

If Christ could not have had the ability to sin, HIM being tempted in all points as we are tempted would have had NO practical purpose. We cannot alleviate the humanity of Jesus and or him being tempted and tried.....could he have sinned YES....did he sin NO and that is what makes his sacrifice so perfect!
We know Christ could have sinned BUT chose NOT to because of the account recorded after His water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism....,

.....then the Holy Spirit lead Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan after 40 days.....

Faith has no substance same as love or honor or courage. But the choice to operate on faith or love or courage happens when we refuse the natural feelings in us and act in accordance with those motivations. Faith is seen in how a person chooses to act.

When Peter started to walk on water he demonstrated more faith than the rest.

Yahweh is His Word....

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

I really dont speak much on this, but this is non sense.
I noticed...
broadcast your feelings, the Gospel is to be preached...
cant quote scripture , solid food , have barely received milk...

How I know? Your fruit shows.... We are called to be fruit inspectors...

Here a word from the wise God:

1Tim 3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

God bless....
Can you write in full sentences for the most part? Jesus said to call God Father. When a son or daughter calls their father by his first name, it is a mark of disrespect. It is refusing to acknowledge the position the father has making one equal to the father. I suggest you do as Jesus taught.

I am sure you do not know why God allows his children to sin. Are we even?
DorothyMae- It’s time to STOP.

If you will repent for trying to mislead others into works to maintain salvation, God will cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

If not, you will be handed over to Satan for the destruction of your flesh.

Period. End of conversation.

? Who are u talking to?
VCO. I said that no OSAS er understands why God does what He does. VCO took exception to that so I asked him that question. He could not give an answer, only doctrinal statements. He doesn’t know. So I pointed it out.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

In another place it’s said to be a gift from God.

It can grow as we see Him move.

A pastor once told me that a wealthy woman in the church I was attending was stingy and was the cause of her inability to be healed.

Would that fit here in James?

Stop falsely accusing me. I NEVER said what you accuse me of. Not once. So if you want to encourage me to stop doing something better make sure I did it at least once.

We are saved by grace alone in Christ alone!!!!

Please remember what I actually wrote and not what my accusers falsely say.

Giving to others is not the only application.

Evidence is not a substance: Faith is evidence.

Giving to others is not the only application.

Evidence is not a substance: Faith is evidence.
I don’t see it in any other book than James, and giving is the reason.

Evidence is not a substance? Am thinking of court cases.

Anyway, I need to get to bed. An early rise is scheduled....do not like.

Actually, how does one know whether Christ could have sinned?

Does he have the flesh nature that we all have as humans, but he could resist it somehow?

One, I’m not a teacher at all.
Two, you don’t accept correction

This is an example of believers resisting correction that Soul thought doesn’t happen with true believers. I just said I never said salvation is by works and you falsely accuse me and that was too much for you.
