When YHWH delivered his people from slavery they were not holy. Gods people lived many generations in a pagan land. At best, they had some dim memory of a promise made to Abraham, but they were fully pagan.

God then spoke directly to his people. What did they do? They built an idol and worshiped a false god. It is believed this was a rejection of God, but is not be entirely correct. God’s people had seen with their eyes and heard with their ears. They may have been terrified, but they knew who spoke to them.

They believed YHWH was the true God but their hearts were still pagan. They were unable to instantly cast off 400 years of false belief. Instead, they built the Golden Calf. For them the calf was a cult statue, an intermediary between them and their newfound God. They understood YHWH correctly, God on High, the God of Gods, but were unable to identify him as “one.” Shema. They could not make that jump. It would take generations before they were fully prepared for God’s word.

The history of God preparing his people for his ultimate revelation, is the story of the First Testament. Beginning with very physical and tangible tasks, He began leading them toward spiritual principles. Using sacrifices, rituals, a mechanical priesthood, historical events and even feast and fast days; God lead them systematically forward until they were able to grasp his ultimate revelation, Jesus of Nazareth.

In Yeshua, the purpose behind ritual and rule was announced. The mechanical rules and laws became spiritual. They were not replaced, nor made obsolete, but were fulfilled to their higher meaning through Christ. They are now kept in spirit.

He stated this clearly, “…the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth.” In the spirit of His Son and in the truth of His Word.

One night, while asleep in my sleeping bag high up in the Rockies, a voice came to me saying, 'Now the Children of Israel, while they were in the wilderness, were disobedient, and by their disobedience Salvation was gained by the nations.'
I understood because the voice came with understanding. What a blessing for all mankind, the Jew first and then the Greek.

I just have difficulty hearing people say the laws are invalid or replaced.

Are these the same ? Which one is Gods word ?

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:38-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

do we live under an eye for an eye as the law teaches ?

“And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭24:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

equal revenge ? Or the things Jesus taught ?

“And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭21:23-25‬ ‭

Does that fit Christian doctrine in any way ? Or is it actually opposite ?

“And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

shew no mercy no pity take the equal revenge

“then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭25:12‬ ‭

Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭19:13‬ ‭

This isn’t the law of Moses like all those things are it’s the opposite spirit from no mercy no pity take revenge ….

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we try living the way Moses taught we’re going to be disobeying Jesus we can’t on one hand have no ity towards sinners and make sure they get equal repayment for thier sins and also forgive and never hold grudges and turn the other cheek forgiving and not taking equal revenge those two things are complete opposites we either need to actually obey Moses law or come and start learning the gospel because they are absolutely contrary

one is a mere temporal pattern of the other cloaked by a veil

this isn’t Christianity it isn’t the same thing it’s the opposite of what Jesus commands

“then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭22:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the law was about israel and thier promised land ….it’s never been given to anyone else the gospel now what God sent to all people Moses le is not something we being into Christianity it’s a different thing for a different purpose we have to die and leave it behind us and walk away with Jesus

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:6‬ ‭

We serve in the spirit

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Not the letter engraved on stone the law has a different ordination and mediation from the gospel holds different judgements of angels and Moses rather than Christ

I finding it interesting that all that "leading" didn't really work since they ended up rejecting Him.

Yes, and God's faithfulness keeps calling us to His hear voice from our rebellion to Him. Heb 3:7-8 and why He wrote a New Covenant, not based on better or new laws as His law is perfect Psa 19:7, but based on better promises Heb 8:6 God writes His laws in our hearts and mind Heb 8:10 and gives us the power to obey Him. His Spirit will call us out of our rebellion if we hear His voice and not harden our hearts. He speaks to us through His Word and Jesus gave us so much and asks for so little and even what He asks, He doesn't make us do it alone but it requires our cooperation. John 14:15-18

There is much here to consider. One thing, we should avoid confusing God's wrath with his code of conduct. Much of what you reference are statements of God' wrath. At some point that no man knows, God will have his final judgement with those who reject his grace. Interesting to remember, Jesus is also the instrument of God's wrath.

Naw I’m just talking about the law of Moses v the gospel of Jesus Christ

The law and the prophets were until John:

since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:16‬ ‭

Gods wrath is what we’re being saved from when we accept the gospel…..the law of Moses can’t do that it o my defines sin and offers prophetic figures for instance remember when they sacrificed the blood of animals to atone for mans sin ?

Look at how this shows us the inferiority of the Old Testament law

“For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:1, 3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do you hear what’s being said there ? Then consider the priesthood of levites v melchezidek

“If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭7:11-12, 14-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We don’t take Moses words to the children of Israel and the blood he sacrificed of animals ot we don’t have our relationship mediated by levite priests we don’t have a central man made temple where Gods glory dwells and we make atonement once per year through a sin of Aaron’s line of preisthood

All of those things are obsolete they were never the reality it was just an earthly pattern of the things God showed Moses in the cloud

This simply is not the covenant God sent to all people of the world all nations it’s rather a singular nation that is involved in this covenant a single bloodline

“Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus preached the gospel sent that word to all nations , then shed his blood mixed with water sprinkling all the nations for remission of thier sins

Because what Moses had done was but a mere earthly pattern given to a rebellious people ruled by a man who was a former killer and who often lost his temper out of frustration dealing with that people that constantly rebelled and bemoaned and wailed and complained and rejected him his temperament and the angels disposition here governs and structures the law , and forms the basis of how it’s written

Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭23:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So you have this temperament and disposition upon the entire book of the law of Moses anyone can see it and why it doesn’t mix with the gospel

“And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. …And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.”
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭15:32-33, 35-36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That is in no way the gospel it’s a different ordination of spirit and mediation of man coming from a different disposition than this comes from and God himself does not change

This is what God is actually like

“And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:3-5, 7-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Not what the law commanded them but what Jesus is teaching them

“And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭20:10‬ ‭

Jesus didn’t tell them to go get the man and kill then both like the levites taught Jesus didn’t teach that kind of judgement and spirit for us to have against one another he taught the polar opposite to forgive and restore to look for and go to and call for repentance of a sinner not accusing witnessing against and demanding thier blood at the hands of all the other people …..those things are a different testament void of what the gospel gives us operating on vague patterns given to Moses upon the Mount those fourty days

transgression begat the old order

“Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Now a mediator ( God angels Moses ot) is not a mediator of one,

but God is one.”( Father son holy ghost nt )
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the gospel is what God teaches believers when he remits all thier sins in Christs name who died for thier sins who shed his blood when he had spoken his eternal word that promises life to believers and sent that particular word to all people of the earth beginning at Jerusalem

There are two testaments the one given to israel which was broken and the other which came because of his promise ( Jeremiah 31:31-32) and was extended to all people from Jerusalem after Jesus resurrection

nt

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Ot

not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
