So, you are saying that we today can not use musical instruments to praise God?

Hmm
Not in the worship assembly, correct, yes, that's what I'm saying.

Yes I agree over the passage everything has changed mainly attitudes towards how do things, As a child when I prayed it was either on my knees by my bed or stood up in school assembly no privacy in the latter but plenty on your own at home.. I pray on my knees when at home but again usually sat down whilst at church, I have never prayed face down as i always thought that something reserved for Nuns, and as for the naked prayer i thought that was a new age thing but read the web and its an expression of hiding nothing baring all to God as the day we were born.
Purposely praying while physically naked is unnecessary. God can see through our clothes to the bodies He made, and can even see inside our bodies down to the smallest cell He created. Prayer is a form of worship, and as always God is the only audience. Therefore if we wish to please our audience, we do what pleases them and not what pleases us. God wanted Adam and Eve to wear clothes. Suppose someone walked in on you praying?

In posing this question you are asking, in effect, how accurate is God, for the Bible is His Word.

I know many will say to this that man has maintained the texts of the Word of God for thousands of years, ergo man's fallibility must have tainted the actual meaning by now.

The argument has the appearance of being sound unless, believing God is Almighty you understand the meaning of the Word from beginning to end may be understood by the Holy Spirit.. God will not leave any of His children helpless or in the dark. Our Father is good, always.

In my own experience, the faith and understanding first given me by the Holy Spirit is more than sufficient, but I read the Word to know more of my spiritual history in this age and what our forefathers learned of the prophets about Jesus Christ by way of the prophesies and the law. It is a fascinating way given by God, and it is truly worthy of a lifetime of study and meditation.

I'm too old and decrepit to get on my knees.. God understands..lol
We've been working on training folks to pray more at church and cell groups. Some of us have sore backs sometimes from getting "mature" saints back up off their knees. Once down they often can't get up. So we've got the question of position worked out.

And we're having some exercise sessions, starting with sitting and standing from a chair without pushing with arms.

Dr. Cho in Korea (million member church) likes to pray hours on his knees, actually must do that to be able to lead that church, but has cut it from 5 hours every morning to 2 hours due to aged knees. As I age I understand the need to move around with very rare seating sessions. Each person should simply find a position that will let you do some serious prayer. I really like a video of his that explains what we Americans need to adopt at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpAUjNmuRzg&feature=youtu.be
I prefer standing (stand praying Mk 11:25) with open Bible, using scriptures to talk covenant talk with the Father. My pattern of prayer comes from studying Jesus' prayers, to stand before God confident of what I say, and that he answers back through that very word being spoken. From that also comes many precious sermons and Bible lessons to share later.

8But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of
the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince
of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

10Now when (Daniel) knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house;
and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem,

he kneeled upon his (knees three times a day),
and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he (did aforetime).

20Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever:
for wisdom and might are his:And he changeth the times and the seasons:

he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise,
and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep
and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

23I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom
and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast
now made known unto us the king's matter.

Hi all I guess this is a question asked many times.....
But why do some churches have us pray on our knees and others just sat in the chair bowing down?
Is there a protocol to say you should be on your knees I confess I have found it more beneficial a better feeling on my knees but only at home as no one goes on there knees at my church.
I can't answer your question, but I do know that in my Mother's church - the Episcopal Church - they provide devices that you can kneel on. In my Dad's church, the United Methodist Church, which is now my church, they do not. I don't think one would be expected to kneel if those devices weren't available.

Listening to Nicky Gumble during an Alpha meeting this evening says in the new testament praying with open hands raised is the promoted more than other ways..
