hahaha ...

We've all heard the expression "if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is" ?

Well ... the gospel is the exception to that rule :D
I must spread some reputation around it says, But this deserves a rep!!

your right its a base what do you have to do on (base's in baseball) run across them to make it to home base and the spirit is the base coaches telling you to run/or stay for a moment so you don't get tagged out.

I think this person forgot. Jesus came in to pinch hit, and at the cross, He crossed the finish line for all his children. who could not even make it to first base on their own.

Yeah, I run like a girl. No way I was getting there. :)

Just remember, the most athletic man who will ever live (or woman for that matter) has no hope of getting to first. So us poor weaklings definately have no hope.

If we would all see this, there would be no legalists among us.

"The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word."
All we need to do is receive Christ for salvation..............believe and you SHALL be saved.

Falling away does not mean " loss of salvation" Or " you were never really saved"

If falling away means loss of salvation or they were not really saved because they had no root.............means that every babe in Christ who never had the opportunity to grow in grace and knowledge after salvation would not go to heaven.

A person who believes in Christ for salvation in his truck while listening to the radio and suddenly has a fatal crash...........would not go to heaven because he had no root?

From my experience, 90% of babes in Christ get snatched away into religion. They grow in religion and have DEEP,DEEP roots in religion and have learned to live a "good life" but have no root in the truth of Christ and His Grace.

God uses divine discipline, others who KNOW the truth, His word and tender prompting for them to return...........but many choose not to return.

If they don't return, God has the sin unto Physical death as His last resort. He just takes the believer Home.

I think many of us just get tripped up in our gratitude ...

We receive this awesome gift and think ... whoa! How can I do something good to return the favor ... and we just get carried away by it ... lol

But God helps us to work through it all :)

How about take it for what it is,

If is his own sheep.. It was never really lost was it? because the owner knew how to find it.

We can't walk away from God. He will come get us,

the people who walk away, And never return. Would they not be sheep at all? Why did the good Sheppard not pick him up and carry him home...

Also.

And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’

Where is the sheep doing anything in this passage, but being picked up and carried home?
Myself, i'm strictly interested in the truth - what God's word has to say on the subject.

What else to do? One could point out scripture after scripture on the subject that proves against what you hold to.

If scripture stands against the concepts you present, and it is taken to be accurate at all (Do you or don't you believe God's word?), yet you persist in holding the stance you do... *sigh*

What's dangerous here is that this 'doctrine' you present has potential to lead people to believe that it's OK to stray away from the path of Life, from living with a living God.

The funny thing is, what's truly comical and wonderful to me, is that he just wants to spend time with us, he just wants to be Dad.

Moses was just some dude, dig?

I am safe in Christ, because of His one time sacrifice for sin(Heb 10:12), by His blood I am secure!

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood" Rev 1:5

What is even more amazing, is the same could be said to you. Much scripture would contradict your belief that salvation can be lost (thus must be earned)

But then again, All we would be doing then is throwing eggs and nothing would ever be settled. So instead of playing your game, and just attacking you.

I will just leg you go on believing what you believe, unless you really want to study.

Why is it so hard for people to place their eternity in the hands of a loving God who gave his own life for them? And paid their debt?

I will never understand.. the mind is a dark thing, and no one can understand it.

you don't earn it. jesus did.
you don't have to keep the gift of his love, you can treat it like dirt, but there are sure to be consequences.

this is what the bible teaches.

moses didn't set foot into the promised land because he took credit for what God had done.

Then it can;t be lost. If it can be lost, You must earn it by doing whatever you have to do to hold onto it. Why can't you see this? Oh thats right, you face palmed me. Meaning your eyes are closed. and you will not even listen to what I am trying to say.

Yep. Many on that day will be standing wiht a bunch of wood hay and straw which are now in ashes, But hey, they will still be saved. (and I pray that is not me, although I will be gratefull to God he kept his promise inspite of my imaturity)

this is what the bible teaches.
Yep it does.. Gold silver precious stone, wood hay and straw. Study it.

Moses lost an earthly blessing, He never lost salvation, Unless you think the man who showed up with Jesus on the mountain was not moses?
