by no means. but we are the salt of the earth. if we lose our saltiness... you know the scriptures, man.

no, i don't think we can earn our salvation by works. however, the bible seems to suggest that we can simply fall away.

and it also states that God knows those who are His and no one pluck us out of His hand

so, seems we need to have an overall understanding of the Word and not just pluck out something...not saying you are...and run with it

that is a major problem on these forums...again, you are pretty new here, so not applying this to you (at this time LOL!) folks running hog wild through the threads declaring they alone have the truth and the rest of us are doomed

doomed I tell you!

good morning!

Yeah I do.

I also know on our best days, we still fall so far short of Gods glory, we would not earn Gods love or forgiveness. So saying if we lose salt we will lose salvation puts everyone in danger, since no one is good enough.

salt is just flavor. It means our work will lose its power. and our affectiveness on the spiritual ware the world is in is lost.

It does not mean we lost our father..

No, the bible does not say this, For it would contradict itself.
It may seem to, But it does not.

You eather have to earn it or it is given to you by grace. (salvation)

Those are your only two options. Saying it can be lost. means grace is removed, and earning it is implied.

Thats dangerous
We couldn't make the sacrifice, we're all broken and screwed up. Jesus could and did. The idea of us earning our salvation is foolish.

Why was the sacrifice that Christ made significant? Because it eliminated any need for any other sacrifice for a person to come before the Father. He is our mediator through his blood, now and forever.

What this tells me, i don't know about you, is that our relationship with our heavenly Father IS our salvation.

We abide in him, he abides in us. The fruit is the evidence of our relationship, but the relationship is the most important part.

If we lose sight of our love, what then? We have turned our back on our salvation, on our creator.

when a child turns his back on his parents.

does the child stop being the child. or does the child just lose the benefit of the parent God gave them (In this scenario the parent like God, is a trustworthy parent sho is rising the child right, and giving them all they need)

I can turn my back on God. And try to walk away, But as scripture says, He leave the whole flock to go find the one lost lamb, And his true lamb hears his voice, and follows after him.

If the lamb does not turn back and follow. He does not know his voice, because he was never his sheep to begin with.

"The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word."

wait a sec.

"So Jesus told them this story: “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away."

strayed away? what? 'repents and returns'?

Notice that the sheep was not righteous......Jesus makes us believers righteous...this sheep was not saved...all the earth belong to the Lord and the fullness thereof..

How does a sheep "repent"?

The sheep repented by letting Jesus carry him on His shoulders..and He carried the sheep all the way back..they sheep "let" Jesus do it all as He brought the sheep back .

The sheep "rested" in Jesus as was brought back...Jesus came and sought the sheep and brought it back...

We see that the Lord will finish what He started in us...He is faithful

Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

The fact that he was called "lost"..means ownership..If I lose my car..it is lost..but it is still my car..I still have ownership of it..

your right repents! but those that don't repent.....lets read what happens to them...Rev. ch2 vs 4 But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and REPENT and do the deeds you did at first; OR ELSE I am coming to you and will REMOVE your lampstand out of its place.---(unless you repent) So in essence your right he'll come for that lost sheep he better repent or he gets shaved an becomes that nights dinner...clearly states removed from its place (or according to thee story from the flock...(but im sure you'll come up with some fast tongue words saying that's not what that means or something...

How about take it for what it is,

If is his own sheep.. It was never really lost was it? because the owner knew how to find it.

We can't walk away from God. He will come get us,

the people who walk away, And never return. Would they not be sheep at all? Why did the good Sheppard not pick him up and carry him home...

Also.

And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’

Where is the sheep doing anything in this passage, but being picked up and carried home?

The "lampstands" are the churches ...not individuals.....it simple means that the church in that area will lose it's light...you can see this in a lot of places where there are cathedrals and old church buildings but no people...the lampstand has been removed.

Revelation 1:20 (NASB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] "As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

That is so my testimony ... I was a lost, filthy, torn up, a baaaaad, baaaad, baaaad sheep ... But Jesus came and fetched me and cleaned me up. He restored my soul. And I did get the impression that there was alot of rejoicing going on around me in the invisible world :)

hahaha ...

We've all heard the expression "if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is" ?

Well ... the gospel is the exception to that rule :D

Yep. because the root was not in Christ. Which is why it broke apart.

Anyone who is not rooted in Christ will fall.. There is not an if about it.

they did not fall because they lost salvation, They fell because they never had it.

lol, I hear ya :p

Sadly I think we all do. Because we can leave some "self" included.

It hurts to take self completely out of the picture and have to rely 100% on someone else.

thats why the good news is...

1. so hard, yet said to be to easy
2. So good, it has to be too good to be true.

and why so many will miss it. :(

Sadly I keep learning more and more every day of how wretched I still am. :(

But I rejoice, as that stupid sheep. My owner still loved me as his own!!

your right its a base what do you have to do on (base's in baseball) run across them to make it to home base and the spirit is the base coaches telling you to run/or stay for a moment so you don't get tagged out.
How can one lose their Salvation if Salvation is based on Faith from God and Grace from God?

:)
Untold dangers He has brought me through.
Many traps were laid for my feet.
A war raged in me for years and years.
He never left me.
He did all He said He would and more.
He trained my hands for war and brought me through to victory.
The way was narrow but it finally opened up to a huge pasture where I could run and leap and lay down and turn around.
The way was narrow with deep ravines, nets and traps for my feet on both sides.
But he has made my feet as sure as a mountain goat.
Selah!
