Where does the scripture say God gave you power to become a butterfly?
A butterfly does not start out as a caterpillar ...The butterfly life cycle consist of four different life stages. Those four stages are egg, caterpillar, pupa and adult or imago.

The scripture does not teach morphing it teaches....And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Exactly what the Scripture says. Great verse. 3339 Strongs. Metamorphesthe
Use your wings. Don't crawl around like you used to before.

NewB, if you would know about salvation, start on passages which are on topic, passages that have save, saved, salvation, or receive the gift of eternal life. Salvation is about this loving Savior who takes the wretched, vile sinner, cleanses Him, gives Him new life, and eternal life. Note that your passage is not about that at all.

Do you have a pink highlighter? Try reading through the Bible and marking those passages. See what you find. BTW NewB, have you ever read the Bible through even once?
Tell that to Peter he wrote it...What were you saved from? So in your understanding escaped is not saved. Then you have not escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So how can you be saved?

Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
Does this verse speak of being saved? does the word save ,saved, salvation or receive the gift of eternal life appear anywhere in it?....or this one?
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Forget your pink highlighter and have faith in God....

You cannot show us one verse that says you are saved because of "accepted" Jesus Christ." Neither can you show a verse that says one is saved for accepting Christ as Lord.
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

And you have denied salvation. If you had trusted the Lord Jesus as Savior with your eternal destiny, not written him off as a mere chance-giver, not trusted in your works, like water baptism, you would indeed be saved & assured of eternal life.

Repent, and actually trust Him as Savior.
Why would you say that because someone who believes in the obedience of faith...
Romans 16:26

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: and faith without works is dead

But is it not a fact that while you speak of trusting in Him, you trust is in your own good works, not Him. You really regard Him only as a chance-giver and expect that your good works will save you.
Abraham believed God would give him a seed even though he was very old and his wife was past her time as a woman...How did he get that child if he did not do the things that men do to get children even though they were both old. Faith without works is dead bro...

Who do you resemble most? The Pharisee who bragged on his righteousness and pointed out the sins of the Publican (nothing wrong with that?), or the Publican who cried, "God be merciful to me a sinner"?
You miss the point it is not about who you resemble but what you are supposed to do...
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Good for you stay in the natural like a butterfly outward change.....
It is a rebirth, a total transformation of the spirit, by the Spirit. Morpheste
At His Return, it will be a transformation of body as well.

Why would we continue to live as though we had never been changed?
We have been given power (flight, if we are still using the butterfly metaphor) to no longer be bound by sin.

Why cling to the power of sin, as if it still has the ability to condemn you.
Satan is ever in accusation of the Saints. Christ is ever in our defense.
Why support the arguments of Satan?

We are free from it! We overcome it!
We have a high and noble cause as ambassadors of the Kingdom.
Live out your calling, proving where you hold citizenship, and proclaiming the Victory!

That's why I repent my sins every day.
As long as that repentance comes along with that daily renewal of the mind,
fixing yourself upon Christ and the calling that He has given us,
and commiting yourself to ACTION in going forward in Christ,

Then the repentance has use.
If these things are not present, then we would be like the man who buried his "talent",
not losing it, yet not gaining anything.
In the end, it is as if he had never had it to begin with, because he did not truly have faith,
but only fear of the master, whom he says is a "hard man".

Yes, there is such a thing as dead repentance.

This and all of this is self righteousness. I meant what can you do. the only thing that separates Christianity from other religions is what God did for us and not what we do for God. If you are trying to please God by doing stuff then your messed up.

[h=1]What is the Book of Life?[/h]
Question: "What is the Book of Life?"

Answer:
Revelation 20:15 declares, “If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” The Book of Life is the set of names of those who will live with God forever in heaven. It is the roll of those who are saved. This Book of Life is also mentioned in Revelation 3:5; 20:12; and Philippians 4:3. The same book is also called the Lamb’s Book of Life because it contains the names of those who have been redeemed by the blood of the Lord Jesus (Revelation 13:8; 21:27).

How can you be sure your name is written in the Book of Life? Be sure you’re saved. Repent of sin and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (Philippians 4:3;Revelation 3:5). Once your name is written in the Book of Life, it is never erased (Revelation 3:5; Romans 8:37-39). No true believer should doubt his eternal security in Christ (John 10:28-30).

The Great White Throne Judgment described in Revelation 20:11-15 is a judgment for unbelievers. That passage makes it clear that no one at that judgment has his name in the Book of Life (Revelation 20:12-14). Since their names are not in the Book of Life, their fate is sealed, their punishment is sure.

Some people point to Revelation 3:5 as “proof” that a person can lose his salvation. However, the promise of Revelation 3:5 is clearly that the Lord will not erase a name: “He who overcomes . . . I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life.” An overcomer is one who is victorious over the temptations, trials, and evils of this world—in other words, one who is redeemed. The saved are written in God’s registry and have the promise of eternal security.

Another passage over which confusion sometimes arises is Psalm 69:28: “Let them [David’s enemies] be blotted out of the book of the living.” This “book of the living” should not be confused with the Lamb’s Book of Life. David is referring to earthly, physical life, not eternal life in heaven. The same is true of the “book” mentioned inExodus 32:32-33.

God keeps good records. He knows His own, and He has set the names of His children permanently in His book.

Yes, there is such a thing as dead repentance.

And that would be up to Jesus to decide like everything else not man. No man on this planet knows my status or relationship with Jesus, therefore, your post is irrevelant.

My post was topical, not in judgement. I was in no way saying that you were that man.
I was only using your post as a reference point.

The post was certainly relevant, just perhaps not to you as an individual.
Unless stated clearly, I don't make posts in judgement of individuals that I barely know.

If you want to see what it sounds like when I make a judgement call, go to the thread about Hosea and about the wine at Canna.

Unless a person accuses God of sin, promotes sin, denies the deity/lordship of Christ, or the existence/power/attributes of God,
I abstain from judgement.

I apologize if the way I worded things made it sound at all like an accusation.

Also,
Don't be so easily offended.
After rereading my post, it was clearly and if/then proposition backed by Scripture,
and not a because/therefore accusation.

Try to give the benefit of doubt to your brethren.

The last time we engaged in an argument you got your feelings hurt and angrily stated you would put me on ignore. You really do have personal issues and really don't care what garbage you have in your post. Personally, I don't believe you are a Christian and know little about the NT.

I am limited in memory, and don't hold grudges long.
Care to refresh my memory as to where these posts can be found.
Hopefully you are thinking of another, but this would explain why you took immediate offense, as you felt a previous offense was committed.

Is there anything specific that makes you assume I don't know Christ, or His Word?
I would love a chance to change your mind.

Christ died on the cross for all men Heb 2:9 yet all men will not be saved for all men will not obey Christ, Heb 5:9.

If the cross and nothing else is all that is needed for salvation then every man would be saved.
Not saved by the death, saved by the life, so if one does not come to life in the resurrected Christ, then one is still dead as how they were first born of the womb as alive to flesh, born dead to God. there is more to the death there Is life in the resurrected Christ by Faith and Father gives this to those that believe

Christ need shed His blood but once but it CONTINUOUSLY cleanses those faithful Christians that CONTINUE to walk in the light, 1 Jn 1:7.
1 John 2 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [SUP]2 [/SUP]and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. [SUP]4 [/SUP]He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
written to and for the baby Christian this starts back at Heb 5:11. There is no more repentance, is no more forgiveness to be executed. He died once for all, Is not coming back to die again. There is no further forgiveness after the cross

The error is that Atwood and I guess you to make assumptions toward us.

Me and some others do believe salvation is eternal.

It is how one goes about to get salvation. Believe in Jesus Christ to be saved is a good verse that I truly believe in, but my belief is not just limited to Jesus as Lord and Savior and what He did for us on the cross. It also goes to believe in what my Lord and Savior taught to the Apostles that were in turn to be passed down to us.

Jesus taught the apostles things we must do to be saved. To many cancel that part out and act as if it died with Him on the cross. His teachings were for all of us under the new covenant made by His own blood, rather your Jew or gentile.
Ad you are pregnant with the Hoy Spirit of promise to do the work God through you. For the disciples had to wait fro the Holy Spirit right?
