I've pondered this a time or two wanna know if there's any scripture to support or put it to rest. Could God have made other planets like ours? With all sorts of living things and people? When I was a kid I loved space and sci-fi and always thought it would be neat to meet an alien ( too much ET I know I wanted a little dude). But still is it a possibility? I'm sure they would look like us just be from a different planet but what do you think?

I personally like science, especially when it comes to space, the universe, planets, galaxies.. it's all God's wonderful work. Sometimes, I question myself that too, it might be a possibility, but we will never know. Humans can become so advanced, that they might actually start exploring other galaxies in the far future (if the rapture does not happen)

I do know that scientists have encountered a "possibility of life" on a nearby planet, in the next Solar System next to ours, mainly because it's apparently in the "habitable" zone. :)

When I was little I loved space, aliens and ufos. Still kinda cool. I personally think those little bugged eyed critters with the big heads are cute.

Yet scripture doesn't discuss life elsewhere. Then you have the fact that when judgement comes its based on mankind on Earth. The universe will be destroyed on that day along with "other life".
Would God destroy other worlds based on the actions of Earth?

Good point but does it say universe which verse/verses are you referencing? Maybe just our planet will be wiped out? I don't know.

Psalm 102:35-26
25 “Of old You founded the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 “[a]Even they will perish, but You endure;
And all of them will wear out like a garment;
Like clothing You will change them and they will be changed.

And the NT says the heavens and earth will pass away.

nope.

He created the earth, and set everything else around it.
the earth is the center - His jewel - for his Crowning Glory, His Son.

Technically a 'habitable zone' is completely impossible to exist if dealing with extraterrestrial lifeforms. There is no info on if they exist and if they do if they are like us. They may need habitats like mercury or uranus to survive.

Well, they somewhat calculated how the "habitable" zone works, I'm not saying it's 100% sure. For that, we'd need a bigger technology to travel in space faster and such.

You realize you're trying to argue all known science with this right?

that could be I was just saying with alien lifeforms id be interested to know how they determined what a possible alien would need to survive. I mean lifeforms similar to us, then I would agree there probably are specific habitable zones.

Well, the universe is big, and I honestly don't think there are exactly "aliens" but maybe microscopic living particles and stuff on other galaxies and such. It's quite interesting to think about, but only God knows lol.

Plato states in the Timaeus that every planet, star, etc., is inhabited, because God is God of life. But this does not imply that their life is like us. Early Christians thought it was better to baptize in "living water", by which they meant "flowing water", so that culture stretched the meaning of the word "life" quite a bit. Another consideration is that there is not proof that there's anything out there, planets, stars, anything like we think it is. We could all be being fooled by what we have learned in school.

What I can state for a fact, is that about 10 years ago the SETI program released a public statement, saying that although they had not checked the whole of space for intelligent life response, they had checked enough of it, that mathematically, it was almost impossible that any life like ours would ever be found. This statement says that our own science has proved that our own science is wrong about expecting inhabited planets.

If you want some more alien life to look at, how about angels? You could look at demons, but I don't suggest looking too long. Then there are powers, principalities, seraphim, cherubim, ophanim, etc. These were all created by God, most do not live on earth, and they are not human. Maybe the entire idea of alien worlds is just a natural response to having denied God for a long time, and missing some of the life He created in the spiritual realm.

I really liked your response, it's simple and understandable. I also like the last part about angels, but that should be in a new topic c:

doesn't matter to me what people think.
God's creation account is right, and all that other stuff is bogus.
i believe Him, not Carl Sagan or Kabbalists.

been here done this.
believe whatcha want.

you can't mix big bang and evolution with the Lord though.

All of what we see in the universe was made for us. We will create and populate the manifold world of the Father.
