If you think about it, it does make sense. You see the same constellations all the time right? Wouldn't they be different on the other side of the sun if we were going around the sun?? But if we are stationary the stars stay stationary too... And also sailors of yesteryear wouldn't be able to navigate so well would they....

Never thought about that, thanks zone.

I've pondered this a time or two wanna know if there's any scripture to support or put it to rest. Could God have made other planets like ours? With all sorts of living things and people? When I was a kid I loved space and sci-fi and always thought it would be neat to meet an alien ( too much ET I know I wanted a little dude). But still is it a possibility? I'm sure they would look like us just be from a different planet but what do you think?
I don't know why not. We humans have always had the habit of thinking we're the center of everything. Not that long ago, Martin Luther was publically ridiculing Copernicus (scientist) for claiming the earth revolved around the sun because Luther was sure the Bible said the opposite. Luther was sure of this based on the story of Joshua, when the sun "stood still" in the sky. Hey! Luther, no matter how good of guy he might have been, was dead wrong about that! Just goes to show that we can't always be sure we're interpreting the Bible right in these areas. We only know a little about our tiny corner in space. We don't know what's--say-- out beyond our little universe at all. Scripturally, our universe might only include our galaxy, which must be set up the way it is for everything to work right here on earth. Beyond that? I can't imagine in my wildest dreams that God's done nothing but sit around twiddling his thumbs for all of eternity until He got around to creating us. That's so phenomenally arrogant. Frankly, I absolutely believe there is are other created beings, and no, not just angels in heaven. Let's broaden our minds a little, folks.

doesn't matter to me what people think.
God's creation account is right, and all that other stuff is bogus.
i believe Him, not Carl Sagan or Kabbalists.

been here done this.
believe whatcha want.

you can't mix big bang and evolution with the Lord though.
LOL! I don't have hands big enough for this facepalm.

Galileo Was Wrong < click

nope.

He created the earth, and set everything else around it.
the earth is the center - His jewel - for his Crowning Glory, His Son.
:)

You--have--gotta be kidding...

You're saying you actually think we're center of the universe? I didn't realize we were still in the dark ages in here. I'm sure you think all scientists are compelled by the devil to lie about their findings too. Every last one of them. You think God never had a thing but US to do, right? Never did anything else with His time...

I can't conceive of that limited a thinking, especially in this day and age, nor do I care to try. And yet you think everything's a conspiracy on this earth at the same time... I guess I'll readdress my interpretations of anything I see you post from here on out.

the book of genesis has a very brief comment on the sons of god marrying the daughters of men which resulted in the races of the mighty men of old i e giants. there is much discussion about this currently but alot of what is being published is demonic hype

All of you that feel the need to ridicule should be ashamed of yourselves. Whatever someone's beliefs she is still a sister in Christ and should be afforded the proper respect. Or maybe we should all ridicule you when we don't agree with what you say. Did Jesus make fun of people?

I started this thread because I really like space and thought it would be something to think about. Not so people could be nasty about it. It's sad....

They are different. We do see different stars at different times of the years. Didn't you guys study this stuff in school? Haven't you even looked at the sky for yourself at night at different times of the year?

Where does it say the universe will be destroyed i dont remember reading that anywhere.
It doesn't say that. It says there will be a new heaven and new earth. Hard to tell exactly what that means in the way of "heaven". But it doesn't say universe, as in the entire universe.

Bah I'm not well versed in science. Need to study a bit more just thought this could of been a fun post. My understanding is that we orbit the sun and spin on our axis and our system rotates through the galaxy as well. But I am willing to look at other people's points of view before simply dismissing them out of hand.

What if there's another earth and Adam and Eve there didn't eat the forbidden fruit....hmmm

I keep thinking if through sin, death was introduced into this creation that would have affected any ET's too; so did Christ have to die for them too?
Were we comissioned to go to the furtthest galaxy to preach the Gospel? In a spiritual sense we are the center of God's creation. So much so that God became a man born of Mary and not a Martian or some other far flung imaginary straw et-man of ours.

Well, I don't think God compelled them to push the evolutional theory.

What do you see out there? I thought we already know that life can't exist but on one planet, maybe, two, but Mars has no life, and, the moon is not a planet but nothing is on there, we been there. I mean, 'life' like human life, of course, can't exist, I believe, they have found strange plant life there that's adapted to Mars' conditions.

But, the bible does not make reference to life outside of Earth, so, why should we? What's the point, anyway ?
Do you want to marry a martian or hire a martian, think they will work for less than a human and not care :D
Great, I always think, we go and disturb life on some other planet and then they come and invade us and kill us all off. But, that's the stuff of movies, not real life here, right, the bible says NOTHING of that 'nature.'

It doesn't say that? Really?

10 But pthe day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which qthe HEAVENS will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be 4burned up.

There are 3 types of Heavens in the bible. We know the spiritual realm where God resides is eternal. So what are the other Heavens(notice the plural)?

Looks to me that more than Earth will be destroyed.

You made a good point. The bible doesn't talk about life on other planets so why even consider it? If he did create life somewhere else he obviously doesn't think it's any of our business and certainly doesn't apply to our salvation.

I believe that the planets are for future purposes not revealed to us and these planets are not permanent. As Zone wisely says, the Earth is the center of all God’s planetary creations; His jewel. There are Angels, called our Brethren, there are fallen-Angels, and other creatures I make reference to later.

Peter gives us a peek into the past and future in the NT book of 2 Peter 3:6. John in the book of Revelation does the same:
"I saw a New Heaven; and a New Earth; for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." Rev. 21:1.

The proper study of the heavens and planets must happen using the scriptures. To understand what happens to the “heavens” we must look to the future or prophecies concerning the future of planet Earth.

If we like to study dimensional physics, consider this scripture:

Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14] And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Please make note that every event happening to the planets, stars, sun, moon, the writers’ focus is concerned with planet earth.

Revelation 20:11-15"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away;

Notice: The word "throne" appears about thirty times in the Book of Revelation but this throne is different than the others mentioned; called a "Great White Throne." This throne sits in empty space—empty space because the heavens and the earth fled away from the Lord’s face. Therefore, if there are any occupied planets they will not be when Jesus setup his Great White Throne to judge all men at the end.

Aliens

“If it is aliens that you want”; then study Genesis 6: The Origin of the Nephilim and there are CC threads that continue to discuss this subject.

There you have it, no “space as the final frontier”—humanity’s future resides here on Planet Earth. No Star Trek, No Scottie beaming up people to a spaceship; the only beaming up will happen when G-d calls everyone before the Great White Throne event to give an account of the deeds done in this flesh.

Thanks for listening—Let “Godly” love continue.

I've got no problem that creation started with a bang.....I've always wondered what it would have been like to watch God creating.......I don't believe that when God spoke things just went "poof".....just look at at things in space and see how violent they are. It must have been totally awesome to see how the Heavens and Earth were created...talk about a light show...
