"Jesus' choice of an all male apostolate affirmed the creation order as presented in Genesis 2:18-25. Luke informs us that before choosing the Twelve Jesus spent the entire night in prayer with His Father (Luke 6:12). As the perfect Son, in complete obedience and submission to His Father's will, Jesus chose twelve males to be His apostles. These men were God the Father's choice. Jesus' choice of male apostles was based on divine principles and guidance, not local custom or traditions."

"Just as Paul teaches male headship in the family, he teaches male headship in the local church (1 Tim. 2:8, 3:7). Because the family is the basic social unit and the man is the established family authority, we should expect that men would become the elders of the larger church family. Consider Paul's instructions in 1 Timothy 2:12: "But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man." In the same way that every individual family is governed by certain standards of conduct, so the local church family is governed by certain principles of conduct and social arrangement. The letter of 1 Timothy specifically addresses the issue of proper order and behavior of men, women, and elders in the local church family. To his representative in Ephesus, Paul writes, "I am writing these things to you, hoping to come to you before long; but in case I am delayed, I write so that you may know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth" (1 Tim. 3:14, 15; italics added).

1 Timothy 3:1 This [is] a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop (episkopos), he desireth a good work.
1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

An episkopos is an elder or an overseer and it is hard to see how a woman could be the husband of one wife which means that woman leadership will always be unbiblical. If a police officer was top of his or her class and committed a felony or exceeded his or her authority then it is no different then a woman exceeding her authority. It is unfit behavior in God's kingdom.

So, what, exactly were you offended about? I must have missed that?

Eve was functionally the first woman pastor in the Bible?
By Chuckt (C) 2-28-2015

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:15 ¶ And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened (obeyed, became obedient) unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

h8085 שָׁמַע shama` to obey, be obedient

1) God directly told Adam.
2) Eve instructed Adam.
3) Spiritual death came into the picture.

1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
g538↑ ἀπατάω apataō

How do you get the words of God taken away by charm (beguiling) if you actually heard the words of God? Eve said, “God said” but was that teaching from Adam or told to her from God Himself? The account I have was Adam was told directly from God not to eat from the tree.

What we have here is the first women pastor in the Bible and death entered into the world because she was deceived while Adam was not deceived.

"Paul, therefore, says, 'I do not permit a woman to be ateacher." The context here has to do with church order, and theposition of the man and woman in the church worship and work. The kind ofteacher Paul has in mind is spoken of in Acts 13:1, I Corinthians 12:28, 29,and Ephesians 4:11, God-called, and God-equipped teachers, recognized by theChurch as those having authority in the Church in matters of doctrine andinterpretation. This prohibition of a woman to be a teacher, does notinclude the teaching of classes of women, girls, or children in a SundaySchool, for instance, but does prohibit the woman from being a pastor, or adoctrine teacher in a school. It would not be seemly, either for a womanto teach a mixed class of adults."-p.48, 49, WordStudies in the Greek New Testament, Volume II, by Dr. Kenneth Wuest, one of the NASB Bible translators.

Sarah told Abraham to cast out the bondwoman and her son

Abraham felt that was greivous in his sight

But God said to Abraham
"in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice";
for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

The King James and a lot of Bibles use the word "vail".
You were considered a prostitute if your face was uncovered in that culture but the Roman culture might have been different but I think that religious cultures covered their faces.
Guy you don't know what you are talking about and basically just making stuff up... here is the KJV

1Co 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

So did men wear veils as well? You don't veil your head you veil your face

If that is a list of exclusion and not inclusion then it is leaving out an awful lot, such as men without a wife. Are you saying the Bible says a man cannot even hope to be a bishop if he isn't married, let alone a pastor? Are all prophets married? Jeremiah wasn't. Wouldn't it make more sense that in those days polygamy wasn't unheard of?

1 Timothy 3:2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

Sound doctrine is based on faith working by love..not legalism .. and you quote folks like they decide what scripture says instead of looking at the scriptures themselves ..this is error ..always has been, always will be

I mean, what was Paul the Apostle thinking telling people it's good to stay single!!?

1 Corinthians 7:8 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do.

Who is alexander strauch? A leader in your denomination? This guy has no authority to decide what Christians are supposed to believe as it relates to the truth of Scripture ..you want to follow after men ? That's fine ..but don't use these people as if they have authority in the gospel

The idea you would read the bible in its whole context and apart from some denominational box, is a foreign thought for some... You are seeing the scriptures as you should on this issue as far as I can tell ...

Gotcha. Bible = Legalism
The opposite is liberalism. You liberate yourself from God by abandoning His word.

You two are as far away from God as anyone on this forum. Gladhanding and backslapping each other in glee, all while twisting scripture.
Context? You want context? Read the next scripture.
I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
Paul clearly recognizes that some people have a different calling, a different temptation, than others.
Something foolish people here reject.

Who are you to decide who is near to God? NO ONE ! And clearly you are in some religious bondage and bitterness ..your hatred for women is apparent and embarrassment to the True Faith.

Have you ever bother to read those passages in their full context? Have you ever bothered to study and read them in the Greek and understand what is really being said?
