Give up. he will not step back from his legalistic/fanatic view. He will only end up frustrating you like others here sister. God bless you
One of the things heretics like to point out is that because the Bible was on parchments, it was costly and not everyone had a Bible back then so there is no indication that if it was a house church that they were following order by the book either.

They're not rstricted to just prophesying in the home, just in the church. They prophesy everywhere else.
Funny today in church, well it's just a home group, does anyone have a prophecy? No sorry. You must strive to prophesy to edicate the others! my ex/pastor said.
But KJV says I may not!
Aaaargh.

Imagine a world with no rules. That would be a world without a Bible. A world without stop signs. A world that is in chaos.

Ah you just have a different interpretation, which isn't so weird when you read that text. What does it matter?

Look I just believe the bible that's all. If you could show me verses that say women can teach, then I would believe it.

Yeah but women prophesying or not isn't the same as one big lawless chaos.

1 Corinthians 11,14

Chapters eleven and fourteen of First Corinthians constitute a context dealing with disorders in the worship assembly. The entire pericope of 11:2-14:40 concerns the worship assembly, i.e., “when you come together” (cf. 11:17,18,20,33; 14:23-26). Paul articulated the transcultural principle for all people throughout history in 11:3—“But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” “Head” clearly refers not to “source” but to “authority” (see Grudem, 1985, pp. 38-59). Therefore, God intends for women to be subordinate to men in worship. Corinthian women were obviously removing their veils and stepping forward in the assembly to lead with their Spirit-imparted, miraculous capabilities, i.e., prophecy (12:10; 14:31) and prayer (14:14-15). Such activity was a direct violation of the subordination principle, articulated by Paul in chapter fourteen. In chapter eleven, he focused on the propriety of females removing the cultural symbol of submission.
The women were removing their veils because they understood that to stand and exercise a spiritual gift in the assembly was an authoritative act of leadership. To wear a symbol of submission to authority (the veil) while simultaneously conducting oneself in an authoritative fashion (to lead in worship) was self-contradictory. Paul’s insistence that women keep their veils on during the worship assembly amounted to an implicit directive to refrain from leading in the assembly—a directive stated explicitly in 14:34. The allusions to Creation law (11:7-9; cf. 14:34) underscore the fact that Paul saw the restrictions on women as rooted in the created order—not in culture. Also, Paul made clear that such restrictions applied equally to all churches of Christ (11:16).

Nobody is allowed to privately interpret the bible. It means what it says.

Just about every single person who reads the Bible has a "private" interpretation of what they are reading. You seem to be totally stretching the "private interpretation of prophesy" verse.

The rule in my church is to say what scripture says. If I say the dictionary definition of a word then it isn't a private interpretation.

How so? Where does the bible say a group of friends meeting at a house is a church meeting.
Ecclesia is the believers, it's not the big once a week meeting, but they also went from house to house.

And there were also requirements to have a synagogue because Paul was Jewish.

Just thought I'd mention the fact that the OP hasn't been active since his opening post in this thread.

Hmm Paul said women should not speak in Ecclesia.

1 Corinthians 14:34 KJV
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
