I don't understand how Jacob could do that. He wasn't too bright.
Nights were dark, and Laban was sneaky. So far as I can see Biblically, when a couple (Man, and Woman, present mores not withstanding) join flesh - they're married, and any subsequent sexual activity with anybody else constitutes SIN.

In the U.S. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of "weddings" are performed between people who've already been MARRIED, maybe for years, and probably already in multiple adultries. A "Wedding", and all the accompanying hoopla, is nothing more that the formalization of a civil contract between two parties, and really has nothing to do with an actual "Marriage".

Rules about marriage were relaxed in the OLD Testament, since people had no indwelling Spirit to affect their actions.

Jesus was speaking about the 7th Commandment. Which is about adultery, not fornication.
Again, I understand your point. Do you understand mine?

Agree and clear in scripture.

Present day cultural norms of standing in front of a pastor is just that, culture.

The context is adultery, not fornication.
the point is that fornication and lust lead to adultery. Just like hate leads to murder, they're both sinful.
21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22 But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
I think God understands men struggle, but we have a responsibility to guard our thoughts and pray for a way out of that temptation.
Like paul said it's better to marry than to burn. ( in lust)emphasis added.
