Thats right our father in heaven is the ultimativ authority, not our understanding ore our teaching.
You miss to proof that your teaching was taught to the Christians during the apostles time.
The Bible tells us we are to contend, or hold to, the faith that was first delivered to the saints. Notice also the scripture says there is a common salvation, meaning applicable to all:

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3

Also, scripture says that what was written or documented in the word was for our learning. (Rom. 15:4) Jesus said that repentance and remission of sin in His name would begin in Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47) Instructions concerning what everyone must do in order for their sins to be forgiven was first presented on the Day of Pentecost, just as Jesus said it would be. (Acts 2:38-42) On that day the New Testament church was birthed. Jesus later told His followers to carry that same message to all nations. (Matt 28:19, Mark 16:16)

actually the Bible show that very clearly as I provided the text examples for in Judges and 1 Samuel and Jesus in John chapter 20:22
The examples you noted were for specific purposes and had nothing to do with the NT spiritual rebirth. Only after Jesus death, burial, resurrection, and ascension did the spiritual rebirth become a reality.

There is no denying Jesus own words. He said if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you. But if I depart I will send him unto you.

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." John 16:7

This is what I noticed in my church, too. Gospel, without to tell the alternative of beeing saved. That means why someone should become Christian when he dont know that he is lost in eternity without Christ.
you assume that Pentecostals don't preach the need for Christ? LOL, I guess churches in Germany that were controlled by the Government and can't even speak out against sexual perversion like homosexuality but you have an issue with those who speak in tongues?

You sit in a church that is afraid, to tell the truth, and call homosexuality sin. I live in California no other State has done more to support this sinful sexual preference and even attacked the church YET we Pentecostals have stood against it. How about you?

you complain about the foolishness of those who roll around on the floor which we have said was wrong BUT your own church bow down to a sin God said was an abomination. Your church can't even use what is called conversion therapy.

I think you're trolling all Gifts of the Holy Spirit threads is because you are trying to get the satisfaction of attacking those you disagree with because you live and are in a compromised church. I will pray for you.

Jesus after he rose from the Dead came to the disciples in John 20:22 and said Peace be unto you Breathed on them and said receive the Holy Spirit. Then He said go and wait until you receive Power from on High the Holy Spirit will come upon you and empower you to be a witness. Acts 1:8
It is commonly understood that what occurred in John 20:22 was in essence a first-fruit which was later followed by a total infilling of the Holy Ghost at Pentecost. It would have been useless to send the disciples out without the power of the Holy Ghost for the time between Jesus' departure and the Day of Pentecost.

yes, everything Jesus did was for our benefit. You said the scriptures I noted had nothing to do with the NT spiritual rebirth?

First off Jesus who said this in John had already risen from the dead. 2. The confession of Thomas " My Lord and my God " was a testimony of the truth that all who hold to the Doctrine of the Trinity quote his words as to the deity of Christ. Yet Thomas was not saved when he said that? the Holy Spirt is God who came upon Jesus and nothing Jesus did was without the Holy Spirt. I don't want to go into the teaching of kenosis, the power of the Holy Spirit on Jesus was absolute. He needed to return to HIS rightful position as the eternal SON and then the Holy Spirt who was on HIM was sent to empower the church. Yet The Holy Spirit was still there because God is Spirit. This is a great mystery and you can't show me in scripture where those who were in the presence of the resurrected Lord were not saved when Jesus Breathed on them and said to them " receive the Holy Spirt". You think they were saved at Pentacost?

After Jesus did this in John they were told to "go and wait to be saved " No. You do not see anything to suggest they were not saved from that point on. Nothing in Acts chapter 1 or too records AND NOW they were saved. Not there. But they were saved before pentacost. And John 20:22 is the only proof in scripture that would show anything in context to a conversion. Which happen after Jesus had risen from the dead just like all today, I am just as saved as Peter was the work of the Cross today still saves.

The experience documented in John 20:22 was not the total infusion of the Holy Ghost. Jesus said that repentance and remission of sins would be preached in his name BEGINNING at Jerusalem. This began on the Day of Pentecost in Jerusalem. Keep in mind there is no conversion without repentance and remission of sins. Jesus said, unless a man is born again he can not SEE the kingdom. And unless he is born of water and of Spirit he can not ENTER the kingdom.

Jesus told his disciples to wait for the promise of the Father. Scripture informs us that the promise is the actual giving of the Holy Ghost.

"And (Jesus) said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
And ye are witnesses of these things.
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." Luke 24:46-49

"Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear." Acts 2:33

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation." Acts 2:38-40

I am not sure I understand what you are saying. Are you implying that one can have the Holy Ghost but be void of power? If so, scripture contradicts that thought.

John 20:21-23
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

As I mentioned in the above experience the disciples received a first-fruits for a specific purpose and later full immersion at Pentecost.

Infused of the Holy Spirit? smh. I am only going to say this once and I hope it will click. the great Comission was not given to unsaved disciples. The Holy Spirit doesn't infuse us HE comes to be and resident in the Believer and empower them to be a witness as Jesus said HE would in Acts 1:8.

I believe the Word of god shows and says as Jesus taught in John 14 to 16 chapter the Work of the Holy Spirit is one in the Believer for SANCTIFICATION and receiving the mind of Christ by the renewal of the word, and also empower them to be a witness.

In you and upon you. Did God leave David when it says the Spirit of God came upon him? No, But God can be near and come upon one to do work. The confession of Peter thou art the Christ, the son of the Living God was given to Peter by the Holy Spirt as Jesus said.

yet just a few verses later Jesus rebukes the devil influencing Peter. How can this be? Jesus came to them and breathed on them and says receive the Holy Spirit. That was not an infusion like some kind of force or salad dressing. The person of the Holy Spirit resides in the believer forever as Jesus says. Yet the empowering of the Holy Spirt is as HE the Holy Spirit equips. 1cor chapter 12 says.

There are many of great faith, who don't speak in tongues, or did speak in tongues, and then were rebuked by the Holy Spirit to stop and come out of this false modern mov't.

To say manifesting signs and wonders, speaking in tongues and healing people is a sign of great faith, is exactly what is wrong with the whole charismatic/Pentecostal mov't of modern days.

Faith is so much deeper and vital than these superficial signs and wonders.

1. Faith is a gift of God! It is not something we muster up, or psych ourselves up to get more faith. That is unbiblical!

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Eph 2:8-10

2. God gives us the exact amount of faith we need.

"For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned." Romans 12:3

God has given, or assigned us the measure of faith we need.

Faith is a gift of God. False Word Faith teachers teach you need to dig up more faith. But Faith the size of a mustard seed is all you need!

"And he said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, 32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.” Mark 4:30-32

God gives us that tiny mustard seed of faith, the sower plants it, and the natural elements cause it to grow!

"Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you." Psalm 89:14

When you speak of faith, it goes hand in hand with righteousness, Justice and love. And that comes from God! Not some trite earthly signs. Signs and wonders in the NT are not to prove anyone's personal faith, but rather to confirm Jesus was who he said he was -the Messiah, the Son of Man! To show how he fulfilled all the Old Testament promises and prophecies.

Instead, the charismatic mov't makes it "all about me!" "All about the 21st century" and NOT to the people in the first century AD. And not about the correct way to grow mature in Christ and in your faith. ("All about me" is the best way to describe a personality disorder!)

Take the focus off your faith and your gifts, and you will find a deeper relationship with God. Babbling in tongues, regardless of the interpretation, does not compare to walking quietly with the Holy Spirit leading and transforming you. And that is done by renewing your mind, through prayer and meditation, feeding on the Word of God, acts of service and like Romans 12:4-10:

"For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7 if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness." Romans 12:4-10

Further, let us look at the verse just before, which really establishes how we are to walk with God! Romans 12:2 says:

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2 ESV

The word transform in Koine Greek is μεταμορφοῦσθε or transliterated, it is metamorphousthe. It means transform, but the tense is very important! It is in the passive imperative.

Passive means it is done to you. So the Holy Spirit does this too you. It is also imperative, which is a command. So we are commanded to let God change us. It is also known as the Divine passive. That means God is the one changing us, while we are renewing our mind on the Word of God!

Not dancing around, shouting and being emotional. A real filling of the Holy Spirit means, we are passive, while the Holy Spirit brings us closer and closer, while continuing to transform us into the imago dei - the image of God.

Instead, these revelries are Dionysus/Bacchus parties of excess! (Dionysus, also spelled Dionysos, also called Bacchus or (in Rome) Liber Pater, in Greco-Roman religion, a nature god of fruitfulness and vegetation, especially known as a god of wine and ecstasy.)

You have substituted a wild drunken party for the quiet leading of the Holy Spirit. You have lost the renewing of the mind, following Roman sin and idolatry, instead! You have been brainwashed into believing that God is present in the wild, babbling excessive tongues, and lost contact with the fact that God doesn't use revelry to transform us-he uses the renewing of the mind.

PS Don't bother pointing out the "love feasts or fellowshipping wildly" is what Paul had in mind. Paul believed in the assembling of believers. But people do not lose their collective minds, but they could be taught to walk with the Holy Spirit! I hope there are many Pentecostals/charismatics who feel this way. I just never saw it in my 15 years in those type of churches. Excess and emotionalism is not the way to grow into a mature Christian, but that is what erupts frequently in these immature churches!

As for all the examples in Acts of speaking in tongues, it was the birth of the church. 1000s came to the Lord weekly. But 1000s do not come to the Lord in modern day 21st century revelling. I do not think tongues is completely dead, if the unknown tongue is heard by an unbeliever, and the prophecy said "Jesus Christ is Lord!" In their own real language. And that unbeliever gets saved, and 27 members of his family, also.
Show me specifically in the Word of God where the Holy Spirit commanded the STOP of Speaking in Tongues?

I am aware of Denominations making this claim and now many of those same Denominations allow same sex Ministers and Church Leaders.

Why would I stop doing something that is Gift from God like Salvation and Grace because Denominations that allow same sex Ministers tells me it is wrong?

I dont speak about tongues, maby you should read on what i have anwered.
I know you don't.
But show me in the Holy Word of God where we are Commanded to stop Speaking in Tongues?

And don't use 1 Corinthians 13:8
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

...because we know this reference to Tongues is our human language. if it said Speaking in Tongues, we would know it means the Gift from the Holy Spirit. So we know this Verse simply refers to Languages like English-Espano-Deutch-Francais-all human languages and not about the Gift of Speaking in Tongues.

Peter told those to repent as the gospel message was preached which is as Paul said for salvation. Peter who preached this was saved already before Pentacost.
My meaning of infused is the Holy Ghost indwells a person.

Jesus gave instructions that included waiting to receive the Holy Ghost. The disciples obeyed him and waited in Jerusalem for the fulfillment of what Jesus stated. After being filled with the Holy Ghost the people were instructed with the requirements associated with the great commission. This occurred on the Day of Pentecost.

After Peter's message of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection he answered the people's question "What must we do?" He said to repent, be baptized everyone of you in the name of the Lord Jesus for the remission of sin and receive the Holy Ghost. Obedience to these requirements results in one's spiritual rebirth. (See John 3:3-5) Being born again is a one time event whereas salvation is an ongoing process. Paul stated that all must work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. (Php 2:12)

I would contend that no one had been water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus prior to Pentecost. I come to this conclusion because Jesus said that repentance and remission of sin would be preached in His name beginning in Jerusalem. Peter's message regarding the need for EVERYONE to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus began when Jesus said it would. It began to be preached in Jerusalem. The same requirement to use the name of Jesus in water baptism is seen in the actions of the Samaritans and Gentiles. (Acts 8 and 10) Also, the same instruction was given by Paul to the disciples of Ephesus some 20 years after Peter's initial message at Pentecost. (Acts 19)

Remember it was Jesus who said, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt 28:18-20

It was Jesus who taught the disciples to wait to be endued with the Holy Ghost before commencing with the great commission.

Receiving the indwelling of the Holy Ghost is part of the spiritual rebirth. The work of the Holy Ghost is what takes place after a person's spirit has been reborn.

The Holy Ghost can and does influence people from the outside. But one who has received the spiritual rebirth has the Holy Ghost dwelling inside of them. They are two entirely different things.

This is simply not true. If you look to the corinthian church, you cant claime that their believers Was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Also nor Paul ore any other writer of the NT taught that filling with the Holy Spirit is combined/ ore seen in speaking in tongues. And in 1. COR 12.30 Paul made clear 1. that speaking in tongues is one of much gifts and 2. Not every believer will got this gift.
That means those believers never can be filled with the Holy Spirit, according your theory.

How is it not True?
Because of your lack of interpretation?

Look at this Verse:
1 Corinthians 14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied:
How do you read that Paul is not claiming anyone cannot Speak in Tongues? Doesn't Paul say I would that ye ALL speak in Tongues? But then he goes on and says Prophesying is better?

Since you don't Speak in Tongues, do you Prophesy?

27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Here Paul explains if Tongues is Spoken and no one Prophesies, to be quiet.
Why?
Paul then tells us why (let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.)

Do you know what this means (let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.)?

It means, the one who Spoke in Tongues when there is no Prophesying is being Edified by God alone!
That is a Wonderful thing to be Edified by God!

2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;

Have you ever been Edified by God?

I don't think you understand the Word of God at all!

Many argue the point. But the bible states plainly that speaking in tongues accompanies the infilling of the Holy Ghost:

Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:33
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Even though many will claim Mark Chapter 16 was shorter in its original version, but it was still voted by the Council at Nicene to be Inspired, and it comes directly from the Words of Christ Himself, "17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;"

F.e. Rolling on the floor, screaming, laughing out of controle, making Horse noises ore falling Backward.
I am only discussing Speaking in Tongues, but to the examples you have brought forth, Where I fellowship with like minded Believers this hardly happens if ever, The occasional jolt of energy from a group of people Worshiping God definitely feels like a bolt of lightning running through you, but no one is rolling around and acting like farm animals.

But tell me something, in the Book of Acts, those who witnessed from outside what was happening to those in the Upper Room, they said and asked, are these people DRUNK?

Acts 2: 13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

Have you ever been in a bar around closing time and seeing people DRUNK and acting foolish?
This is the (scene) being described from those Speaking in Tongues and being happy and doing things that made them look like they were DRUNK in the Upper Room.

How is this scene any different than someone being happy and looking stupid in a Church Service when they're being Edified by God through Speaking in Tongues?

You really have never been Edified by God, have you?
And yet, you mock?
If you Mock the Holy Spirit's Gift of Tongues, isn't that mocking the Holy Spirit which is Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit?

It was Jesus who taught the disciples to wait to be endued with the Holy Ghost before commencing with the great commission.
the word Power is the same in the greek as the one used in Acts 1:8 from the same source the Holy Spirit.
