Hi Kayla, they will cease when we are face to face with our Lord and Savior, until then God is as He said He is, the same, yesterday, today and forever.
I'm not sure any "denomination" is totally on track, they were never the intention of the Savior, the early church met in each others homes, where they invited Holy spirit to come, the children leaned relationship with the Father by ministry of Holy Spirit who only speaks what He has been given, and still does.
best wishes

As I have mentioned before, most denominations believe the same things. They vary very little when it comes to the Gospel message. Denominations usually have to do with the gov't, so to speak, of the church. Very little difference in teaching.

Pentecostalists are not a cult. We are entirely orthodox and evangelical. What we do is apply those good evangelical doctrines concerning salvation also to our PHYSICAL well being. Healing and godly prosperity.

We believe in FULL salvation for the total man. Body, mind and spirit or body soul and spirit.

If it were not for the Pentecostal/Charismatic revival Evangelicalism would have been history a long time ago.

When they talk about falling numbers they mean traditional evangelicals, the Pentecostal/Charismatic churches continue to multiply.

In China there are now MORE christians than America and Pentecostalism is all they know. Africa and even India is opening her doors.

Praise the Lord.
I'd stop short of saying Pentecostalism is a full-on cult, but it fails the smell test for sound doctrine.
Well, the videos I have seen of their cult members writhing on the ground and babeling incomprehensibly and doing other very strange things seem to me they are incredibly possessed by demons. Not only are they a cult, but they seem to be one of the more dangerous cults at that.

Have you ever been inside a Pentecostal church? Do you know any Pentecostals personally?

No. I have only started to look into them because of this website actually. Everything I am seeing is pretty horrific too. I will go back and try to find the video someone showed me in another topic, though you were in that topic so perhaps saw it too, just give me a bit, working at the same time.

So no you haven't attended a Pentecostal church and don't know any personally. I don't need the video. I have traveled to hundreds of Pentecostal churches. None of them I have attended have people that are demon possessed. What do you consider a cult?

I know when I was younger that sort of thing was very common in Pentecostal churches but I think a lot of them have mellowed now. The mainstream groups I've visited more recently have been pretty mild. But there are definitely fringe Pentecostal groups and groups who broke away from Pentecostalism that are still pretty out there.

I see Pentecostalism as more dangerous now than ever because of the veneer of respectability they've acquired. People just shrug and say it's just a regular religion but their doctrines are anything but regular.

I understand, it is a trend lately for the cults to try to put lipstick on the pig as it were because once you see how they really are, there's just no way one that believes in the Only True God, Jesus Christ, could ever join them.

Okay here is the video I found, was originally posted on the topic about the protestant cult, originally posted by Mr. ResidentAlien. I guess it's in Canada though so not as pressing, but just mindboggling levels of demonic activity.

All I can say is.....I am the recipient (and beneficiary) of the superior SPIRITUAL GIFT of prophecy. Therefore, by Evmur's own standard of measure, I am an invaluable player on team Pentecostal per se.

Anyone care to chime in on this?
The thing is....I have these gifts, yet I am NOT a Pentecostal per se. Just an ordinary nondescript Christian. The Pentecostal label would be someone else's designation....NOT my own.

Well, what went on at the so-called Toronto Blessing was demonic in my opinion. But the Airport Vineyard church where that took place wasn't Pentecostal; it was part of the Association of Vineyard Churches. I posted that video in response to someone who was saying their experiences at some of theses meetings was decidedly "of God." The people who attended those meetings took their experiences back with them all over the world; I'm sure some Pentecostal groups were influenced.

So you've never attended a Pentecostal church, but you'll watch a video and take someone elses word that every Pentecostal is demon possessed and part of a cult. Well, you're easily swayed.

Ah okay I will have to look into that cult some more. It blew my mind when you first posted it I remember watching that and then some recommends in my youtube came up for pentecostalists and other such cults. This is actually a very big problem that there is this level of demonic possession in the churches and in the West. Reminds me a lot of the episode at Ephesus in Acts; total Pandemonium.

Right, because there are other denominations that also believe in the gifts and tongues. Already mentioned here somewhere where we went to visit a Methodist church and they were tongue talkers. I've attended Baptist and other denominations that believe in and practice tongues and gifts. It's not something only Pentecostals possess or practice.

Quite the contrary, despite threats, insults, and browbeating, I will not bend the knee to any cult. I am one that is willing to be thrown into Nebuchadnezzar's furnace instead of ever worship or give respect to their lies.

Born and raised pentecostal ... Dad and Grandpa both Pentecostal pastors ... I would have walked out of the so called service. (Toronto blessing type) Pentecostals like every other group should not be judged by a few. Down the line of sports fans because some go so far as to riot does not automatically mean every fan does so.

Remember the media will always go to the sensational . to this pentecostal old women those folks ( Toronto blessing) have a ton of repenting to do. Mocking the Lord and HIs gifts, i would suggest even to the point of Blaspheming the Holy Spirit.. Is demonic.

Well they should repent by leaving the cult.
