By keeping the Law (of love in this case) it means you love God with ALL your heart, mind, soul, and strength 100% of the time. Do you do this? Do you even come close? Please don't lie to us.
To be judged by the Law requires 100% perfection...this is why we are robed in His righteousness, so even where we fall short we are covered by His grace.

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
(Jas 2:10)

the above is in response to this...

You cannot keep the law that says "Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself."
It seems easy but we continually fail...that is where grace covers (not excuses) our shortcomings.
We are totally 100% dependent upon God's grace.

we are on this Train -
there are many starts and stops along the way to our ultimate destination,
using the gifts of 'grace and faith and always walking in the Light' will
keep us in favor in our Father's eyes.

if we keep steadfast unto the end, if we stay on the Train,
we will wear our 'white robes'.

I agree with you completely, except one point...You are underestimating the power of Grace in the formula you speak of. Yes we are free from sin...yes God wants us to follow that in our lives...yes anything not done in faith is a sin...yes sin should be called what it is and we are not to sin even once....yet God knows that some will slip and fall, he knows some will do this slightly in error and some will leave completely, as the prodigal son did in the story mentioned in scripture... yet when God goes and gets Him, leaving the flock to do so, we see Gods love for us and His character, He does it with a fervent heart for His lost sheep or child.

As we Read that passage on the prodigal and we see Christ running to the returning sinner. He even doesn't let him finish his confession before He puts on the best robe and fixes him a joyful party of return...to the dismay of some in the flock, but thats another story... smile.

So- Yes, I agree but the grace and the power of Gods grace needs to be inline in our balanced thinking...... "Father help me and my brother look into scripture to paint the full picture of Christ and His grace accurately, let your Spirit fill our hearts and let the Holy Spirit nurture us to the completion in your conclusions on this issue..Let us both open our hearts and minds to your teachings and not subjectively enter into the room of prayer, but be a clean slate as we let you speak to us.

I pray for this in your precious name ...Amen!"

God bless brother. Very powerful writing, I look forward to reading more of your stuff thanks for the things God has put on your heart, and I mean that sincerely.
I am not talking believers backsliding into sin and with them coming back (Which is by God's grace and mercy). James 5:19-20 talks about a believer helping another believer who has erred from the truth to come back to a saving faith by helping them to repent to the Lord. I am talking about the false teaching of OSAS which will lead people down the wrong path of immorality. Yes, David sinned. But he did not keep doing so as a way of life against God. For David was a man after God's own heart. If a believer sins, it is very serious. Sin put Jesus Christ on the cross. If one is born again it should be unnatural for them to sin. It will go against the new person they are in Christ. If they sin, they need to confess that sin and forsake it. No believer is saved if they abide in unrepentant sin as a way of life. Yes, I realize some believers struggle with sin, but this is not something that will forever grip their life. We are free from the dominion of sin if we are in Christ Jesus.

So you can still be saved and have lustful thoughts towards women? You can still be saved and hate your brother? You can still be saved if you got bombed at a college party? Sorry, not buying it. Grace does not give a person a free pass to do evil in God's name.

well according to this defenition. no one would ever be saved.

Because your list is too short. you better name every sin according to the law. not just your pet few sins.

My favorite pastor gave me some incredible notes I took. I'll just share them as I wrote them down.

People believe that we have to keep grace on a leash or we'll get the idea that we can sin all we want thus turning us into serial killers lol.

When in fact obedience of the heart cannot occur without God's grace.

Some see obedience as the end game when it is not.

Grace extends to everyone, even those Christian Chatters that annoy us to no end.....we tend to separate those chatters from ourselves, looking at them as "unclean" while we are in the "clean" camp. Our default setting as humans and Christ followers is to enjoy looking down on others in their ignorance and disobedience so that we feel informed and obedient before God. This brings us validation when in reality we have all the validation we will ever get through Jesus Christ.

There is no "us" and "them" in ChristianChat. It is us and Him (The Lord Jesus Christ).

We tend to keep accounts and book keeping, measuring others according to our standards when in fact we don't even measure up before the law.

God has permanently sent the spiritual accounting department off with pensions never to open that office again because of His grace through His Son regarding His children.

So for us to keep tallying accounts of those who don't measure up in our minds is a heavy burden that need not weigh us down. We've been set free from all such activity.
Amen, for those of us who understand the law. this is so true!

The problem is people look with blinders.

I do not do this and that so I am righteous.

While ignoring the fact. they still sin themselves, and are no better in the eyes of God than the person standing next to them, no matter who is standing next to them.

"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"

Mathew 7:3
Amen sis, Legalists like Jason will never understand this, until they see the sin in their own lives.

I read the whole post, I just didn't paste the whole thing.

[EXCERPT]"Grace extends to everyone, even those Christian Chatters that annoy us to no end.....we tend to separate those chatters from ourselves, looking at them as "unclean" while we are in the "clean" camp."

Now you misquoted them and then misinterpreted...a perfect strawman. They only summed up the Pharisee/Publican story.

Here is a point many miss about LOVE including yourself. LOVE cannot be turned into a law...(Aww, do I have to love that jerk?) Love is a gift included and is part of our new nature which we exercise as we grasp by faith the great love by which God loved us.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.
(1Jn 4:16-19)
Christ was the perfect example of this.

He drank with sinners, ate with sinners, did not judge sinners, and was even called a sinner.

if he was here today, people like jason would condemn him also. because he vomits their legalism out of his mouth, and would condemn them also. just like he did the pharisee.

Yes, well I like wearing my white robe while on the train...

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Like when noah entered the ark. God sealed him in, until the day he opened the door.

We to are sealed the moment we enter the train, with the holy spirit, unti as paul calls it, the day of redemption

there is no getting off the train, even if you would want to. which no man who understood where the train was going, would ever want to do.

I can think of a few letter combinations but will spare so as to not get banned....!

Radd did not suggest we go forth and live out such decadence. Brother, I fear you live in bondage; lust, hate and debauchery are at the center of your thought processes rather than magnificent gift of saving grace in Jesus Christ.

Amen to that.....that is what you get when you deny the following....

1. That Christ saves to the uttermost
2. That Christ continually makes intercession for the saved
3. The complete sealing of the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption
4. That what God does it is eternal...nothing added or taken away from it
5. The righteousness of God is imputed unto the believer while ALL of our sin was nailed to the cross
6. That we are saved, justified, and sanctified in Christ eternally
7. Our life is HID within Christ
8. Salvation is based upon faith, grace, mercy and is a free gift that cannot be earned, maintained or regained by works
9. It is the spirit that has been born again, does not sin and is eternally secure in Christ while being bound in a fallen wicked sinful body that is not subject unto the law of God, cannot be subject unto the law of God and occasionally wins and we sin

ETC.

It is evident you have no understanding of grace. If you did, you would not suggest salvation is conditional.

Most Christians have failed to udnerstand that righteousness is position not personal performance.

True, we have complete validation from God. But there is nothing wrong with needing validation from others espcially those claiming to have same like mindedness. We have felt pushed to the sidelines in our church. Oh, they wanted our money but they didn't want us. They were very into reaching out to those outside the church but they missed the opportunity of the hearts crying out right out under their noses. We felt like the 'unclean'. After 3 and 1/2 years we left.

I swear if this becomes another grace vs the law or grace vs never sinning I am going to go nuts. I am grateful for God's grace because even though I try to be obedient when I slip up he forgives and I can keep moving forward. If anyone thinks they can sin as they please because of grace they are very confused
I agree with you Blain, That kind of thinking is nothing but pride.

So are you saying a person can do the evils I mentioned above and still be saved? Do you honestly think that is the grace of God? If you do, you are sadly mistaken.

I mean if that is what you mean, then there is no point in serving God. If one thinks God covers their little pet sins that they enjoy, they should leave God out of it.
The only one that can walk in obedience all the time is Jesus alone. There is seven things that God hates, and a proud look is at the top of the list, Proverbs 6:16-19. When we were born of the Spirit we did not leave our natural man behind. Paul talks about how those who are born of the Spirit having a warfare going on within them, the flesh against the Spirit. We will not honor God as we should until we deny ourselves and our ability to do spiritual things by our nature.

If you think that you can lose your eternal salvation by a sin that you commit, then Christ died in vain. Christ was victorious in his work on the cross accomplishing his Father's will by redeeming those that God gave him back to God. Christ's offer was to God, for God to accept, not to man for man to accept. When we sin, as we all do, and repent of that sin there is a salvation(deliverance) that takes place. It is delivering us back into a good fellowship with our God. Not delivering us eternally, because He has already done that.
