If it was me I may have asked about it later on though. He may have been blind but he could have heard him spit.
I realize this is off the topic of pleading the blood, but it is related to the topic of God doing stuff we don't think is right.

On the day of Pentecost, the spirit SAT upon each of them. I'd wondered why. When given the answer it was basically this:

He SAT on them (putting a noticeable amount of pressure, but not enough to crush or overwhelm them) until their resistance weakened to the point that they allowed him to give them (and do through them) the thing that seemed foreign and strange to their thinking.

Of course I'd like to say more, but that's enough to consider, for now.

Love in Jesus,

I remember once when I wanted the Holy Spirit and asked for prayer to receive or be filled with the Spirit. It did feel overwhelming at the time as if my whole body was on fire but not painful, just heat. I am not however a big believer in tongues. Even when I was practicing that, many a time I had doubts about it. Just not something I am comfortable with doing. I am of the opinion that if one speaks in tongues it is not a bad thing to test their gift to see if it is of God, if that is possible to test it.

If this were true, then all the people that bind the devil would've kept him from doing anything ever! Apparently, it isn't.
Binding and loosing only work for those who are Jesus Christ Disciples.

“19 And I will give unto you (“you” refers to all Believers) the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven (refers to symbols of authority, the privilege of preaching or proclaiming the Gospel, which is the privilege of every Believer): and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven (Christ has given the authority and power to every Believer to bind Satan and his minions of darkness, and to do so by using the Name of Jesus [Mk. 16:17-18; Lk. 10:19]): and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven (looses the Power of God according to the usage of the Name of Jesus; this is the authority of the Believer).” Matthew 16:19

Kelby, you mentioned spitting, as when Jesus spat and mixed up some mud and put on a blind person so they could see, well actually, human spit has antiseptic properties, and mud has healing properties, as does clay, so theres probably something in it, more than we realise.

Just as pure water is incredibly good for you, by itself with nothing added.

And leaves that we can use in tea...they are healing.

Much more than any drug, pill or surgery. As for blood, well, Jesus blood must have been special, if we think of how some people donate blood and how vital and life giving it is...I mean not many people think just how is blood made. And how can Jesus blood save us. Why did God require blood on the mercy seat? How was Jesus blood more efficiaceous than any goats or bulls blood?

Im sure book of Hebrews explains more about why blood is important. It wasnt just that Jesus died, it was he offered his blood. See chapters 9 and 10 . Its the blood of the covenant. The law can be purged I suppose....if theres blood on it. See 9:22

13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are. I'll see the blood and pass over you. There will be no plague to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

This is where it is from. But faith is key.
Bingo

You nailed it my friend.

When they did that in the exodus it was pointing to our own walk.

Pleed the blood is applying the blood.
A blood barier against whatever is trying to kill and steal etc.

In my walk and ministry it is good when casting out devils, sickness, and proection over lost family etc.

Invoke it when lead to invoke it.
Praying in the spirit, leads to gettimg right to the heart of the matter. Sometimes invoking the blood, the cross, the empty tomb, or the risen savior. Sometimes my own pedigree.
And many others.
Sometimes you need to go "nuclear" and hit it with everything...lol

The word of faith movement might not be scriptural but it works because it’s psychological. Every self help guru all “preach” this because it works. Like Henry Ford states, “Whether you think you will fail or succeed, your right.”
i wish i had enough faith for everything to work like that. how to boost faith levels? :D

Here's the thing, we don't need to conjure up enough faith. We were given the faith of Jesus Christ. Believe it... or not! ;)

David didnt get faith by hanging out with the popular crowd.
He was kinda a wof guy.
Centered on God ,got results, and somehow knew the mockers were the irony of ironies lol

You're lucky. I can't grow anything of myself. I must be one dumb sheep. The older I get, the more I gotta rely on Christ Jesus to do it all for me. Nevertheless, I found my rest in the Victor.

Vampires, supposedly, go after people for their blood, but say if you plead the blood of Jesus, they wont because they have an aversion to Jesus blood.

I dont know it was just something that came to mind. Not saying there are actual vampires, but I know about emotional vampires that feed off other people, drain you, and get more powerful if someone else is miserable.

I'm glad you qualified your statement with not saying there are actual vampires but you sure are right in saying there are 'energy' vampires

these are people who make others around them feel exhausted while they thrive on the discord and arguing they cause

they cause it, then withdraw

we should be careful not to get involved in useless arguments as the Bible states :)

Hi, CR, in the book 'The Witch That Switched' a former witch talks about her conversion. She said she thought that she had powers over everyone else but when she tried to put spells on this one family they didn't work.
She found out they were Christians and everyday they would plea the Blood over their family, along with their other praying.
She then switched and became a Christian and wrote the above book. I myself have been doing this for years. God bless.
I have no doubt that book is based on made up nonsense.

to the op

I learned that the expression 'I plead the blood' came from the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of the Israelites when the angel of death passed over before the exodus from Egypt

I don't think it's actually a biblical expression but I learned the above while attending a Pentecostal church for awhile (I'm not Pentecostal but I had friends there)

I do think the following is based on scripture and explains better why the blood of Christ is effective both for our salvation and protection. (Derek Prince)

we should not walk around afraid of the devil. he is already defeated but from time to time we might encounter spiritual warfare and it because of Jesus shed blood that the enemy has no hold over us any longer

Through the blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hand of the devil. Through the blood of Jesus, all my sins are forgiven. The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses me continually from all sin. Through the blood of Jesus, I am justified, made righteous, just-as-if-I’d never sinned. Through the blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, made holy, set apart to God. My body is a temple for the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed, sanctified by the blood of Jesus. Therefore, Satan has no place in me, no power over me, through the blood of Jesus. I renounce him, loose myself from him and command him to leave me in the name of Jesus. Amen.

What does it mean when someone pleads the Blood of Jesus over someone else in prayer? Is it something good or ok to do?
I believe that it is Jesus, when as our advocate before the Father, pleads that His blood was sufficient for the remission of the sins we committed.

Some believe and some don't, as usual.
I have read that book.
I also know if you mention the holy spirit with a bunch of witches, or God, they recoil. Ive actually seen that happen. They really dont like any mention of christianity. Invoke the name of Jesus, and they physically retreat or theres dead silence.

People that live in the dark - vampires? Shine the light on them and they shrivel and crumble. They dont like being exposed.

Jesus said he didnt do anything in the darkness, he was teaching on the temple during the day, he got arrested and night, when the people going after him could hide.

I think it's a made up doctrine, no where in the new testament is there any mention of this.
