Having said that, I watched todays sermon and thought it was fantastic.

So long as he sticks to Pauline epistles and on justification, no problem.

When he recently went into tongue speaking and start to go into 1 Cor 14:21 and used Isaiah 28:11 out of context, that was when my alarm bells went off

I think you have missed the point of all this totally. All of us can do with an anointing from another especially from one who was mightily used by God. Are you saying that the annointing that passed between Elijah and Elisha was from Satan?

All this lot was doing was going to the grave of the person rather than standing in a church building. Nothing to see here.

This is the equivalent of Saul attempting to contact Samuel, not akin to Elijah's anointing passing to Elisha. That is the same logic the RC church uses to excuse relic worship. It's idolatry.
Our anointing does not pass from the saints of the passed. It comes from the Holy Spirit himself, and is to all believers. Not one prophet to the next. (See the book of acts,) The Apostles were not at the grave sites of the prophets passed, nor were they even at the ascension site, but were in the upper room praying. Nor is it taught by any teaching of the Bible that we can go to the empty husks of dead flesh to receive anything from God. It's foolishness to think that the Holy Spirit remains in the ground at burial sites of those who have passed.

How can you get anything from a person who is passed on? They aren't even there. That is dead flesh, and after a number of years it is dirt, worm poop.
The only thing they can get is Satan recognizing their ignorance, and sending a demon among them.

that is on ongoing problem with some of the biggest churches in the country

maybe one of the reasons they are so big is because of the appeal to the flesh

a miracle a minute (with no proof), all kinds of experiences leading to all kinds of feelings, telling you that you can be taught to heal or be a prophet, giving false expectations that you have some kind of giant ministry God just can't do without and so on

then we have the megas like Osteen's. Gospel light and go home and fancy yourself assured of salvation...or as I like to say, all this and heaven too.

but don't ask me how. I was gifted this giant church and haven't got a clue but I found out that people like positive messaging so I come up with new ones all the time. works for me
