Because eternal (aeonous) life is a quality of relationship with the Father and Jesus Christ. So, if you lose that quality of relationship, you have lost what Jesus calls aeonous life in John 17:3.
No

Eternal life literally interpreted means to live forever.

Like many legalists, you make a religious term out of a saying of Jesus and make it say something it never was ment to say.

Again, Never perish have eternal life.

My definition is not important. Neither is yours. How does God define it? That's all that matters.

From Matthew 17:2-3, Mark 9:3-4, Luke 9:29-30, you can observe how Jesus treats them at the transfiguration. They're not strangers to each other and they're very comfortable in each other's presence. This is before Jesus died on the cross for all of us. Why would God be so close to them at that point? Even if we don't understand, the big take away from this, is that God already treated the OT believers as His own having believed Him while they were alive in His promise to save them.

Sadly, l I think many forget God is outside of time..

OK. How does God define saved?

Moses and Elijah were justified by their faith in God, even though as yet their sins were not really atoned for, because the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins. What does justified mean? It means reckoned righteous. And people in both old and new testament are reckoned righteous by their faith. If they are reckoned righteous, God id not counting their sins against them... because He is reckoning them righteous through faith. That is why God was so close to Moses and Elijah at that point. Moses and Elijah had their sins atoned for after this transfiguration event, when Jesus bore them onto the cross. But Moses and Elijah are still waiting to be resurrected in a restored physical body, which will be their completed salvation,

You could have fooled me, All you talk about is the possibility of losing salvation.

Actually yes you are. Your redeemed from the penalty of sin, hence you are declared righteous (justified)

Um, Not every sin was redeemed my friend.
If you were justified/declared righteous, when Christ atoned for the world's sins, then the whole world was justified when Jesus atoned for the world's sins, and faith is unnecessary for justification, since we were all already justified in AD 33.

But scripture says we are justified by believing in Christ. So, you must be wrong.

No. Aeonous life is literally "the life of the age" and refers to the kind of life that will be the saints' in the age to come, which Jesus defines as Knowing you the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you sent. John 17:3

Oh I understand what you mean now! Thanks for making it clearer what you're thinking. I actually agree with all your points! I especially agree that we're not fully saved until we are clothed with the imperishable at the Lord's return. This is why Jesus kept emphasizing that we endure to the end, why Paul focused on finishing the race, etc. :)

Typical.

I am mot justified unless my sins are atoned for. You can not have justification without atonement or redemption.

But scripture says we are justified by believing in Christ. So, you must be wrong.
Made possible only by the redemption in Christ jesus

Romans 3:24

being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

you need to go back to study

We come to faith in Christ because we come to know him

So in effect. when we trust Christ, we know him.

So that is eternal life (no one who is not saved knows God)

And again, John 3 destroys your theory..

Jesus did not tell us to endure to the end, he told those living in that time to endure to the end..

Yes I can read

He was talking to a group of people. Not the whole world.

You claim God chose you so you believe
You claim if God did not chose the person next to you, He will never believe

In essence. You say God respects you and not the other person.

You also claim your special. while they are not.

If anyone is having a problem seeing here, it is you my friend.
Has nothing to do with me, cant you read ?

They dont believe because Christ didnt die for them as He did His Sheep Jn 10:26

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

Believing in Christ comes with the fact He died for you. So if one never believes, its because He never died for them taking away their sins. See His Death takes away sin and its awful consequences 1 Jn 3:5

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Unbelief is the consequences of sin

Adam was also created in the likeness of God.
Was he the Bride of Christ?

Do you know what the term "Bride of Christ" means?

David in his resurrection will of course have the likeness of God.
But will he have the same glorious body as Christ has? No.
That body structure is reserved solely for the Bride of Christ!

This is not for a simple answer ....
It takes time and knowledge before it can be understood.

David, Moses, and even John the Baptist will not be the Bride of Christ in the resurrection.

John the Baptist even acknowledged that he will not be the Bride of Christ!

That was is the Friend of the Bridegroom, that he was not the Bride!

John revealed that he was predestined to be the Friend of the Groom!

There is a difference!
The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom
waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice.
That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who
stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this
joy of mine is now complete."
John 3:29

grace and peace!
David understood being made into the image and likeness of Christ as Per Rom 8:29

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Ps 17 15

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

The word image in Rom 8:29 is the greek word eikōn :

an image, figure, likeness

Christ is the Image of God 2 Cor 4:4

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

So you are wrong !
