Well, I'm just going to be brutally honest here. Sorry, but no matter how you slice it this is still weird and something is definitely wrong with it. Give the devil an inch and he's going to take a mile. There is nothing natural about this and that needs pointed out. To the rest on here, yes it is good to be nice to others, and show them love. However, we are not to accept things just for the point of being politically correct or sparing someone's feelings. That is not love...the truth is love and the truth will set us free.

A woman of God should never feel offended by being referred to as a woman, and a man of God should never be offended by being referred to as a man. If they do then there is something wrong and they need to take it to the Lord and get it fixed before it becomes a bigger problem.

The devil is a deceiver. Quit listening to him because if you don't before long instead of wanting to be referred to as "they" you may want to be referred to as "him/He". Like I said before if you give him an inch, then he is going to take a mile. That's how he deceives people...If you let that fox in then eventually he is going to spoil the whole vine.

Take it to the Lord and let him help you fix this problem before it gets out of control.

We as Christians need to Speak the truth in Love.

Whether I call myself a man, woman, or starfish has no bearing on what I actually am. Coercing others into playing into my own self delusion is wrong. It's mind control.

You're not some kind of special snowflake that needs your very own pronoun. Get over yourself.
I am an Oyster. I shall attempt to get over myself someday, but for now I am an Oyster.

After reading

I agree with this.

You're not some kind of special snowflake that needs your very own pronoun. Get over yourself.
But this part is out of line. No need to deliver any message in this manner. Name calling is uncalled for.

Speak the truth in LOVE....that means give the truth of the scripture and leave it at that.

There is a need. A little bit poking fun has always been a good way to discourage this type of thing. But if I made anyone cry, then my apologies to the not-snowflake and they delicate sensibilities.

Oh goodness me! Are you sure that isn't an overreaction?
Yeah, I'm sure....If we listen to the enemy in one little deception and let him in then he is going to keep right on deceiving us into more and more things. That's why we are to rebuke him.

I can't find the scripture that I am look for right off hand, but when I do I will post.

However, I think we as Christians should know how the enemy works, all to well. That's why we shouldn't, not even for a second, entertain him, any thoughts of sin, or anything that goes against scripture. We should be swift to rebuke him.

If that is what you were trying to do???

But what I am saying is we need to use a little wisdom and handle the Word of God with care. It's no JOKE...just saying. ;)

Fair enough. I am most definitely trying to discourage the rampant gender bending.

The ones that aren't helpful are our resident filter feeders like the oyster a few posts above who play along and encourage the lunacy. I don't think this starlitmess person is stupid. I think she just lives in a world where up is down and down is up and they has bought into some foolishness for a little bit. I think she'll get through it if she doesn't listen to the likes of the oyster.

I’m sorry, but there’s the difference between poking fun and being disrespectful. I‘m not offended, but I don’t see how that’s funny when it’s degrading someone. I understand the intention, but there’s no need for that

Relax. You're just doing something dumb. And now someone is making a little fun of it. Your only job is to swallow your pride a little bit and say "Ya. That was dumb. Not gonna do that again!" If you were about to step off a cliff, would you want someone to tell you to stop? Or would you want someone to enable you to go over the edge? Well this leads to a destination worse than walking off a cliff. And I don't care what you say, I'm not gonna encourage you to go there. Oyster will. I won't.

Thank you, I’ll keep that in mind
They is welcome!

I understand what you’re saying, and thank you for helping. I agree that pride-swallowing is necessary but there is no need to be disrespectful about it.

I do feel that was uncalled for

There's nothing wrong with not making your gender public info. Many people do that so there is no gender bias. Don't let anyone tell you it's being dishonest. That's incorrect and is hyper legalistic.

Hello! My apologies if this is the wrong forum, please point me to the right one if it’s not.
Okay, I‘ve read a lot on here and the Internet in general about using other’s gender pronouns. For example, if a friend asks you to refer to them as “she/her” rather then “he/him” I understand the multiple options on this, so I’m not really asking about that, but maybe the two are intertwined, I don’t know.

My question is, what about a Christian choosing their own pronouns?
I’ve never felt comfortable being refered to as “she/her”(no, I’m not changing my gender because I do believe God knew what my gender was when He made me) and I‘ve been thinking of changing to “she/they” for a long time. I want to honour God but I really am annoyed by “she/her”, and “she/they”(in my opinion) keeps my female identity. Advice?
