Is it wrong or an evil thing to have hope for those who may deserve it the least? I don't believe it is and it comes from the same Spirit and heart that Stephen exhibited when he was cast out of the city being stoned by those stiffnecked uncircumcised in heart Jews and looking up to heaven prayed, 'Lay no this sin to their charge'. The Spirit used Stephen to cut them to the quick in their heart but Stephen was full of the Spirit and pleaded with God to have mercy by not charging any of them with sin, including Saul (Paul) who looked on with consent (Acts 6 & 7). We are not to sit back and be critical of these stiffnecked people who resist the Spirit, but rather we bring conviction and hope through Christ and if we perish we perish. To do to them the same as they have done to others is not of the Spirit, even when they persecute and hate Christians. Paul was of the same ilk and had authority to have Christians killed, but God had mercy on him and even raised him up to be an apostle to the Gentiles that Israel considered to be dogs. Peter and Barnabas were even carried away with their dissimulation about circumcision and eating with the Gentiles (Gal 2).

Is it false doctrine to bless those that persecute you, bless and curse not in Rom 12:14? That's about people and how we apply the doctrine of blessing people and it's in your Bible. Other than this would be an unruly tongue in James 3:8,9.

Isn't it better to bless than to curse and to give than receive? So bless them and give them Christ. If they reject, continue to bless and not curse and keep giving. By doing so we are like our Father in heaven full of mercy and who waits to be gracious. There are many wonderful doctrines that we can learn from the scriptures and put into practice by faith like this one. Don't let prejudice get in the way of having these things be in us and abound so that we can be fruitful.
