This is a good question, Now every time I take a spiritual gift test which I used to often to get clarification I always get Prophesy, faith and shepherd each and every time. Now if this is true then Great but my main concern is to develop a much deeper relationship with God. However I don't know if having the gift of prophesy makes you a prophet because I cannot see myself a prophet

Yes. You can read about them in the Bible.

The early Christians also had the gift of prophecy while the full outpouring of the Spirit was yet upon them until it passed away toward the end of the first century in fulfillment of 1 Cor. 13, which states that the gift of propecy would be done away with and that Faith, Hope and Love would be all that would abide.

Clement of Rome speaks of this as well in his first Epistle to the Corinthians, chapter 2: "Thus a profound and abundant peace was given to you all, and you had an insatiable desire for doing good, while a full outpouring of the Holy Spirit was upon you all."

If you mean by prophecy speaking forth God's Word...hopefully we do that.
If you mean revealing NEW truth...that's already been done.

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.
Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.

JOEL 2:28-29

It means a gift to teach. to communicate God's message to people, and have them be edified, meaning learn and mature in God;s word. People have a tendency to turn this into a religious traditional thing, and twist this and many things, into something its not .

This simply means to teach effectively God's Words he has given through the prophets etc. To exhortation edification and comfort .

All these are good verses, and it is good to look back to the time when the Church was still in her infant stage and in need of these special gifts of Prophecy, Word of Knowledge, and Languages. It is even more encouraging to know that these things have long since passed away now that the Church is in the Time of Maturity and understanding that the greatest gifts are Faith, Hope and Love, which abide to the End.

Agape never fails: but whether there are gifts of prophecies, they shall fail; whether there are gifts of tongues, they shall cease; whether there is the gift of knowledge, it shall vanish away. For now we have partial prophecy and partial knowledge, but when the completion comes in, the partial will disappear. -- 1 Cor. 13:9-10

I Corinthians 13:8 "Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away."

Every prophecy in the entire Bible will be "fulfilled" for the very simple reason that it will come to pass. The time is coming when all tongues or languages that exist today will end also and this is because at the sounding of the seventh and last trump, all flesh bodies will be changed instantly, in the wink of an eye into the new soul or spiritual bodies, as the angels have, and all souls will speak the same language, as it was in the first earth age. That is also as it was prior to the tower of Babel. Knowledge will not vanish away, but it will be fulfilled, and known to everyone.

I Corinthians 13:9 "For we know in part, and we prophesy in part."

Our minds in our flesh bodies don't know everything, in fact we know very little compared to the vast knowledge of the universe and the elements that go to make it up.

I Corinthians 13:10 "But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away."

( Hebrews 5: 10 -15 )

Jesus Christ is the only perfect one, and when Jesus Christ is come to this earth at the seventh trumpet then every thing that is hid from our minds today will be revealed to us. We will see the entire plan of God, for all prophecy will be fulfilled and the knowledge of the entire word of God will be planted within our minds in the Millennium age. In that time you will not have to tell your neighbor about the things of God, for they will know them automatically.

I Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

yes, Did you know about the guy who said the berlin wall would come down long be for it did from reading the Bible. Then there is the guy who wrote the Harbinger. AlsoIsaac Newton who said men would fly one day according to the Bible. Many people have the gift of prophecy come on them. Then there are others who walk in the gift as their calling. People say mean things about theses people but the truth is there and somepeople still will not believe.

Luk 16:16
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Is John still alive? If the prophets were only until John how can there still be prophets?

The context of the 'completion' is not Christ's return, it is the gifts of prophecy, word of knowledge and tongues. Therefore, based upon syntactical analysis, it must (by rules of grammar) be refering to completion of prophecy, completion of the word of knowledge and completion of tongues. All of these had a purpose in spreading the gospel until the completion of prophecy and knowledge with the Book of Revelation in A.D. 65. After the destruciton of Jerusalem in 70, these gifts began to disappear and were fully gone by the time of Clement of Rome in the early second century A.D.
