I was being ironic - perhaps a little too subtly for you all........

What do you mean God is no respecter of persons??????

  1. Acts 10:34
And Peter opened his mouth and said: Most certainly and thoroughly I now perceive and understand that God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons,
Acts 10:33-35 (in Context) Acts 10 (Whole Chapter)

Sorry - still don't accept your defense.

You say that to submit to christ is exactly what is says - to obey unfailingly

But the same word appled to a woman only means that she must love her husband. And that she must not necessarly obey him?????

You're making this up as you go, methinks.
The application is gender neutral man has little or nothing to do with men being better than women.
If your woman nags you perhaps it's because you don't pick up your clothes off the floor for the umpteenth time or always leave the house in a mess for the umpteenth time.
Or hey here's a good one try actually listening to her for a change maybe she has a valid point!!!

I was trying to make a point about the casual sexism of the original post, although I accept that my attempt at satire with sarcasm has backfired.

I was not trying to be rude to women - quite the opposite.

I was making a critique of the ham-fisted attempt to quote scripture as authority.

I'll try to be more blunt in future.

Scripture is authority! It mentions, a quarrelsome wife is as annoying, and yet, the post beneath makes no mentions about women.

I guess I might get your point. Should I have found a scripture that best go with the post? There was no attempted of casual sexism. That seems to be what you brought out in making a judgment call to my post. Anyone who is quarrelsome is annoying. May it be a male or female, which the post speaks on. And I'm sure any woman who read that would agree. Your casual sexist statement is what turns this into a man, woman thing. You know not my heart, brother or my reason for posting this scripture (I guess now you do....lol).

But I do know this; you were the one who made the comment,
Yeah, women are so annoying. If only they would shut up like they have been commanded and leave all the clever stuff to us men.....

"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)

I don't think I was bring any sarcasm in using God's word and it's authority.

Dude, there is nothing immoral about God's word. You ever stop to think that maybe it's you? why is it the only person who respond to this post as you did?

This wasn't posted to point out women. It was pointing at quarrelsome nagging people. Quarrelsome nagging, a steady stream of unwanted advice, is a form of torture. People nag because they think they're not getting through, but nagging hinders communication more than it helps. This could be both men and women.
A big amen to that!

Help me out here please. I simply cannot understand how you can say this when there are so many examples in the Bible which demonstrate the opposite.

I realise that the words that are written can be taken metaphorically or allegorically but there are so many that simply cannot be explained away. Black is not white irrespective of how many times you say it is.

I struggle to understand how sentient people can keep saying 2+2=5. It reminds me of George Owell's 1984 every time.

I am so interested to know how you can avoid looking at this objectively.

In knowing God's word. As we know in Heaven there is no male and female. Yet, he would use what we do understand in getting something across to us. Taken everything and not just one scripture! That's when we take things out of context. Believers might do it as well as non believers in making a point. Quarrelsome and nagging anyone can be annoying. But your also right, the scripture points to a quarrelsome wife. Not at all women en-general. A quarrelsome wife! It was being direct! Your comment was being directed at all women. And not just a quarrelsome wife.

it's not saying 2+2=5. your leaving out your formula which was added 2+2+1 (which was you, that made in to)=5......lol
