I'm not saying you need to play it, just that one can learn from even a very M-Rated game.
Yeah, I never really had a taste for M-Rated games other than the God of War, Devil May Cry and Castlevania(Only the 3d ones are rated M, and even then they don't deserve it) Series. Though Dante's Inferno looks pretty good and it's probably gonna be rated M. Er my point is other than the few exceptions my most of games are rated T.

Did you give up everything that used to like before you become a really strong Christian. Like right now, I like anime and video games, but I still like them when I become a really strong Christian? I mean I know I'll want to spend more time in the Bible than I do, but will I still like what I like right now?

Blah, I've gotten away from my orginal fear. My fear isn't that God will make me give them, I'm just worried that I'll want to give them up later on for God.

That's a tough thing to get over. I feel away from Christ because I didn't want to give up the things I was doing. I didn't want to give up the adultery, the erotic novels, the drugs, the wild parties, and I knew I would have to if I came to Christ. But the things I DO enjoy are so much more fulfilling, now. I enjoy reading stuff that glorifies God, i'm not ashamed to hear the Truth anymore. I enjoy doing stuff with my church, i'm not scared to walk in there and be judged. But stuff like reading books, playing games, watching tv, yeah there is some stuff I gave up. It was mostly stuff that was rediculously over the line and I'd be ashamed to watch in front of Jesus. God gave up his Son for us, yet we balk at the idea of giving up something so trivial in our lives. Trust me, what you give up to be closer to God will be given back to you 100 fold.

So then if none of the stuff I like is over the line, then I won't have to worry about getting rid of it?

Think to yourself, if Jesus came through my door, would I be ashamed of what I'm doing? If you would invite the J-man to come sit down and play a game or read a book or watch a movie with you, then you are good to go. If you would fall to your knees trying to explain yourself, maybe you should re-think it.

As far as video games and anime goes no, I wouldn't afraid of Jesus walking in the door. There's a few other areas in my life I want to get that clean too, but I'm actively trying to work on it. With God's help of course.

Then I'd say if you are working on it, you've got it covered and have nothing to fear!

well, if you aren't worried what Jesus would think if he caught you playing them or watching them, then there probably isn't a problem. Despite the anxiety and the ocd, you've still got a working conscience. If something feels really bad to you, like you literally feel shamed when you are doing it and think of Jesus, then it's a good idea to stop. But, if you honestly believe, that if Jesus walked through your door while playing/watching it, and you would not hide it from Him, then there isn't a reason to stop.

One of my favorite shows to watch is Trueblood, but there are times when I watch it that I wonder, do I really need to be watching this? I don't like the nudity, I don't like how the church they use is portrayed as a little batty and corrupt, and this last season, I didn't like that they were using an orgy monster to summon satan. I used to be able to watch that show without batting an eye, now, sometimes, I turn it off or walk away until parts of it are over. I still like the story, that good conquers evil, that overcoming prejudice gains you valuable friends, that the main character is a Christian, but there are parts of it that give me that icky feeling in my stomach, and I turn away. Should I give up watching it entirely? Maybe. It's something I should probably discuss with God. I should probably see if watching this show is getting in the way of my relationship, or if being offended by soem of last seasons material is a sign that I've grown.

Nobody can tell you what is evil for you to watch or do, because it's different for everyone since we have different perceptions, different personalities, and different walks with God. Look in yourself. God will speak to you through your heart, through your conscience. Put aside the fear that you are doing something wrong, and start listening to God in you. If you are doing something wrong it won't feel right, it's like a bitter flavor on your tongue, you'll approach it hesitantly, you'll debate with yourself, you'll try to justify it. If you're scared of doing it because of your anxiety, you'll know. You know what it feels liek when you are having an anxiety attack. Learn to differentiate the two.

I'm sure your video games and anime are just fine, .hack. Just listen to yourself because your tastes will change as you mature in Christ, but it's not because He's taking your fun away, it's because you'll WANT to change to do things that will better please Him.

Deep breathes .hack

Thanks harely. Btw I think God might have been using you as his voice when you wrote that. Now I've calmed down a lot more about it.

But then again it's hard for me know for sure, since I usually have a problem know it's him or not. :p

Keep one thing in mind dothack, we are held accountable for the way we use our time. What would you rather spend your hours on? Sermons? Reading the Word? Evangelizing? Serving God in some fashion? or would u rather waste hours on something that is momentary? Do video games edify you? Is it bringing glory to God We have to use our time wisely. When that day comes(Judgment) and stand before Him, what will you say to Him regarding all that time wasted?

Actually since right now as far as I can tell he wants me to make video games to serve him, I can play other games to me ideas for my own game. Besides, I do have a tendency to pray when I'm playing video games when nothing major is going on in the game.

Well there tends to a lot of magic, demons, other god from mythology or just made up in the game itself in games I play, but I know it's all fake(other than the demons obviously) and stuff. It's not affecting my relationship with God. Actually I'm annoyed at how slow I'm actually growing as a Christian.

Btw, I do have a tendency to avoid the extremely violent games like GTA, or games that excessive blood in it (excessive to me is just unrealistic amounts of blood coming out for what's happening.) Other than the God of War series.

Don't be annoyed with having a slow path. Remember, the best things are ones that were made with care and time. A house that takes months to build carefully will last longer than ones thrown up in days. We are called to walk the unbeaten path, which always takes longer. If it's slow, that means there is a foundation, that you are growing, and learning. You'll become a little bit stronger of a Christian every day until the day you die. Slow and steady man, too fast and you crash or don't see the sceniary.

Eh, I've heard the Russian models don't have all the bugs worked out yet. The Thai models are the best.

So what if you don't get married until you are 40. God will bless you when it's HIS scheduled time, not yours. So don't worry! Also, be careful. When you do get a girlfriend, don't jump into marriage quickly just because you want to be married. I see so many of my friends fall in love with the idea of marriage, that they dive into it with girls they barely know. Relax, enjoy the benefits of being single, work on yourself and give some time to you, and then, when it's time, God will give you what you need. Patience is all a part of the game!

Oh yeah, go for the Thai model, they take up less room ;)
