Woops, you forgot many things, The Judgement of Nations, Be Doers of the Word and not just Hearers, and Only Those that do the Will of Jesus' Father in Heaven shall be saved (and I'm sure there are many more examples of the salvation aspects of good works, too many to count.) And, make no mistake good works are necessary toward salvation, Jesus and Scripture clearly tell us this. but good works without Jesus mean nothing.
Those that hear Jesus Word and don't do it are like fools who build their houses on weak and shifting sand. Gee, how much clearer could Jesus have been?
yeah but this is how we learn that brother we hear his word and learn about that like this at first we’re babes so we need milk we hear the gospel
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
this is milk to begin establishing faith in him when we’re young in faith we’re like children we don’t have jobs and responsibilities yet we’re still babes so many of the scriptures in the gospel are like John 3:16
as we become established in faith this kind of word in the gospel starts to teach us about obedience to his word
“And
why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Whosoever
cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
he is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
But he that
heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and
immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
Luke 6:46-49 KJV
we need to follow the faith in the gospel we have to do this
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24 KJV
as we grow in the gospel our capacity to hear what he’s saying grows , and we learn from him what your saying there like the wise and foolish builders the difference in hearing and rejecting or hearing and doing is something the gospel teaches us as we persevere in the faith
this allows us to not be overwhelmed as babes , but also feeds us so we grow into the maturity found there in the gospel. It’s a journey and a growth process to get from milk witch teaches us to believe fully upon Jesus name , word , blood , spirit
and then we grow into obedience from that faith as we learn the mature things that we don’t expect of babes . So if we hear his word d believe eventually we come to maturity hearing and believing things like this which is what causes us to understand what James is saying
“Jesus answered and said unto him,
If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.”
John 14:23-24 KJV
see if we’re first established in faith and trust Jesus and his word , just hearing thkngs like that makes me grow because all My faith is well established because of all the milk in the gospel but there’s also the meat and potatoes that causes growth and obedience
as we hear the gospel the faith it creates leads us as we grow so we are never overwhelmed we always have the milk based faith but we start eating the meat with the Milk
James really is just saying what Jesus said so hearing James also is what matters do you see what I’m saying ? If we hear this
“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
James 1:21-22 KJV
just ( hearing )
accepting that is going to change our faith. We have to hear what he said d he will teach us to come to repentance and obedience
but think back to when you first believed , you didn’t know anything g like what you know now you were a babe now your mature when you were born in Christ you were here
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV
and you believed and rejoiced in that and then you began hearing this part
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24
which compelled your growth and spurred your faith and you arrived here
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: he is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
Luke 6:46-49
this happened because you first believed and out your trust in him and knew his word is true.
but if you look back at my other post you’ll see that I was already saying what we actually do is what we will be judged by. What I’m saying is we hear the word d he is able to do this and bring us to repentance and maturity of faith he’s able to change our Will and actions
“For it is
God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:13 KJV
This comes by faith built from hearing ( accepting as truth ) his word in the gospel that will teach us what your saying there about doing hearing the gospel is where you learned that.
hearing doesn’t replace doing it teaches us and compels and leads us to doing the right things taught by the lord.
hearing is where it’s all rooted but actually hearing as if it is true and Gods word
