I have no wish to start an arguement---just clarify something you say above
>>>We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the sabbath day....<<<
Wasn't that commandment given to the PEOPLE ASSEMBLED personally by God Ex 20v8; Deut 5v22 Moses was in the assembly with the people and God spoke to ALL of them - not only Moses.
So it is not quite right to say that 'the commandment to keep Sabbath holy'' was only through Moses....for GOD gave it 'to all the people assembled.'
This is an important point needs to be clarified....because seeing it as coming through Moses will abolish it with all other commandments contained in ordinances/works Eph 2v15. and this is what christians have done, that's why they don't keep it and only hear Moses...still today as G777insists.
It's not as if they 'could not hear God then - because they said they did Deut 5v24 but that they REFUSE to hear Him AGAIN v25,...so it is a personal decision and choice to not hear God - rebellion in fact - which they have to repent of before being allowed by God to move on.
to answer your question,Yes it was.
However, what you seem to have over looked is that the statement it comes from are not my words. It is a quote from the RCC. Hens not my words. It's all good though, sometimes things are miss understood. All we can do is clear them up, as I am hopping we just have.
There is one thing I would like to ask. How if I post from an article or web sight, again, can I make it mopre clear that it comes from that, and not my own words? I really thought it was clear being as it ends telling you where it came from and that it was from a time before I was born, 1947 in fact.

to answer your question,Yes it was. However al law in the Torah was given BY HaShem, and as such are all His laws. Being His laws, they can not be changed. Unless one can talk around the teachings of Yeshua in,
Mat 5:17 ¶“Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
Mat 5:18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.

Thank you for explaining. The reason I took it as coming from you was that i could not see any differnce between your words and theirs.

I am absolutely no expert on computer techniques...all I can do more or less is 'click on and off - lol.
But someone else will be able to help you. The best I can do to make that distinction is to just say which are MY words...not always successful sadly and misunderstanding happens...which is the very devil to clear up. Glad we managed to do so as I can see your love for GOD's Word.

I don't know which Bible you quote from...mine is KJV and Mat 5v17 does not mention 'Moses law...it simply says 'think not I am come to destroy the law'....so let's not add Moses for it can misrepresent some other scripture re law. Truth is a very very fine line and it helps to just keep to what is written. No matter if it makes no sense to us or we don't understand ,,,God will explain elsewhere - trust Him !!!

I agree...ALL law comes from God and it is not our place to pick and choose between it GOD Himself makes any distinction or separation...
we just carefully listen to Him...remember HE is our true teacher...not any human organisation...much as they like to be in the 'driving seat and worse luck christianity has no Licence from God...so when the TEST comes they will be 'disqualified and hear the words of the JUDGE Mat 7v23 depart from me ye who work iniquity/lawlessness.
GOD makes His own difference between 'holy and unholy and expects it also of Man Lev 10v10.
Scripture shows the differnce GOD makes and I can show you if you are serious.

Hi Beta how are you? No headache. I love sharing God's Word. Jesus has done so much for us. It is a bit sad though if people attack the messenger because they cannot do anything with the message and then all the name calling starts. Anyhow can we expect anything less following Jesus? I believe though there is still many faithful Bereans that search God's Word for themselves so I hope we can help these and they may search God's Word for themselves. God is patient with all of us. I am very thankful (me included)

God bless you Beta

I use the NLT. Though that one may have been from the CJB, let me look at make sure for you.
Yes it was the New Living. Though, I do understand what your saying, in my mind, the only reason for anyone to say look it is Moses's law so it doesn't count. Is that they are simply seeking a loop hole that simply isn't there. I can change my Bible if that will help you any. Though even you must admit, if a person is going to go down that road, no matter what translation is used, they are going to take the road that best suits them.

It has been a long time sense I seen anyone that understood HaShem Himself has divided the Laws for us. Giving the laws that are for this people, then moving on and so on. You did my heart good with that.
Oh you may like the BLUE LETTER BIBLE. It is an online Bible that gives you something like 17 translations. Don't take my word on how many it gives though. I am be wrong on that. I love it my self, when it comes to study, it so handy to have them all with a click.

Just looked around the Bible Hub. I seen it has the Tanakh. I would love to find an on line Tanakh, that has commentary from the sages. Not sure if you know who they are, Roshy, Rambom, and so on.

And that is the first mistake most of us make...choosing what suits us best....do you know what that does ? it gives our natural/carnal nature a loophole to assert itself... as you already know.Jer 17v9,10.We are deceived by it...but only God can correct it.
Been reading one of the latest threads (by no means read them all) titled 'Natural and Spiritual by Netchaplain and find it helpful in coping with my own nature displeasing to God. We must allow Christ to gain the victory over it by His Word, His Spirit and His Power...all done in Love !

The Tanakh is the Old Testament. Just in a different order than ours. I love reading the Sages. I find it strangely curious, how some of what they say can be found in the NT, and they never read it. I will look up an example of this if you would like. however I will say, that it is not for every one. I can see some people on here going nuts, and having a hissy fit over some of they (the sages) have to say.
Even though I don't agree with the sages 100%, their words can give food for thought. Oh and they are all Orthodox Jews, so that sets a lot of people back.

True, yet when it comes to the interpretation of the Bible one uses, the best one, is the one that speaks to you. The KJ, confuses me, so I do my best to stay clear of it. I am trying to learn Hebrew, so I can read it in the language it was written in. Though I must say, that is not as easy as I had hoped it would be.

Hi Beta,

You know something that has been helping me in my Bible study to seek and know Jesus more and more? When reading in the 4x Gospels, you know how there is so many stories about the sick and the dead being healed by Jesus? Also, Jesus always seeking out sinners and eating and drinking with them? I am believing more and more everyday that this is me! They that be whole need not a physician but go and learn what that mean...... If we (I) do not see myself as the blind, the deaf, the paralytic, the dead (in sin) the mute, the lepers then we have no need of salvation. Now all in all these examples these people knew there was nothing they could do in their own strength to heal themselves from their sickness. It is the same with us. No more can we do anything in our own strength to save ourselves from our sins. Kneeling in faith at the foot of the cross is the highest place to which man may attain because it is here that we can have complete dependence on the Word of God to do what it says it will do! Only the God's great Law can bring us here...... so that.........By Faith and Faith only we believe God's Words to us as sinners allows Jesus to save us from our sins like he healed the sick and the blind so that we can walk in newness of life.

We as His people need to see that we are the poor, the blind the naked, the lepers, the dead, the mute (sinners cant save themselves like the sick).... when we know that there is nothing that we can do to save ourselves from our sinful nature, Jesus (the Word) will work in us to will and to do of His own good pleasure as we depend on the Word of God only to do what it says it will do..... Jesus will also say to us... Thy faith has made thee whole go and sin no more. This scripture is so great for me....

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." (1Tim 1:15)

God bless you my friends

You are so right...if People strip God of His own 10 Commandments and give them over to Moses then they are gone down the tube and people actually think that makes them free. Somehow they think that the Com have the effect of making them behave even worse than they are, that they 'inflame sin...so they want nothing to do with them...esp the sabbath...all given over to moses and abolished. They are living up to scripture that shows their refusal to hear God anymore.Deut 5 and Ex 20. in their stubborness they can not repent and turn Ezek 18v30-32. It is so sad !
