I posted this on the tread I started, ( The truth Behind the Law) yet I would love more input if you don't mind. Zac. talks of the 1000 years, in it we find,
Zec 14:16 ¶And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
Zec 14:17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain.

From this I have 2 things I wish to ask.

1 To what end do think we will keep the feast in that age?

2 Why would anyone in the age, sin, and not want to go spend time with Yeshua?
Any ideas on that one? I only have one.

The feast as we know them have more meaning than we have understanding, so they will be used as a teaching tool as they are in my house today.
The nations that fought Israel, are the nations that had turned their live over to Satan, and even though Satan is looked away for this time frame, their love of him simply keeps going. I also think they will keep teaching their kids about Islam. Any of that ring true, or am I blowing smoke up my leg?
Omar Khayyam was a Persian poet, Philosopher, a mathematician, astrologer, and an alchemist.
The search for the Philosopher’s stone was driven, not by the desire to gain great wealth by turning base metals into gold, but the desire to gain eternal life.

The son of man is the son of God, who is the spirit, who, according to our concept of one directional linear flowing time, is currently developing within his temporary tabernacle (The body of mankind) as he awaits the creation of his glorious temple of light.

E, Underhill, mysteries. P. 170, The “Philosopher’s Stone,” the concealed stone of ‘Many Colours,” (Golden Theatise) “The Mystic Seed” of transcendental life, which should invade, tinge, and wholly transmute the imperfect self into spiritual gold.”

Is it possible do you suppose, to form a molecule from atoms of matter and atoms of anti-matter, which can be held in equilibrium, a state in which they cannot annihilate each other? And would such a body
comprised of matter and anti-matter molecules be able to pass in and out of both dimensions? Does evolution cease with the creation of the three dimensional body of mankind?

In the introduction to Fitzgerald’s translation of Omar’s work. It is written that Omar Khayyam died in the year of 1123 AD, and yet in the Glossary of the self-same book, it is said that he died in 1132 AD. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, there is some debate as to whether he died in the year 1123, or 1132. It seems strange that the controversy should be between these two date, because from, (The Perfect Way, P. 247) we read, “As the number of the lunar months, ‘thirteen,’ is the number of the woman and denotes the soul and her reflection of God---The solar number ‘Twelve,’ being that of the spirit.

The two numbers in combination form the perfect year of that duel humanity, which above, is made in the image of God—the true “Christian Year,” wherein the two—the inner and outer, Spirit and Matter—are as one. Thirteen then represents that full union of man with God wherein Christ becomes Christ.

Thirteen, represents the physical person, who reflects perfectly the spiritual being within, (The Father and the Son are one) and is represented as the solar number 12 in combination within the thirteen, as shown here, (1123).

But the true “Christian year” should be where the physical being is translated to a spiritual being, which would be represented by the number combination (1132), the physical number 13, within the spiritual number 12, the old tabernacle, (The body of Man) stored within the inner most sanctuary of the new and glorious Temple of light. A good translation, loses none of the essence of the original from which it is translated.

It was during the Festival of Tabernacles that Solomon, Of whom God said;
“I shall be his Father and he shall be my Son, and he shall build my temple on earth.” And it was in the Holy of Holies within the temple that the old tabernacle of the Lord was stored.

If you wish to discuss the festival of Tabernacles, which is held on the Great Sabbath, you will have to begin a new thread.

It seems to me that if one is going to find out about the Sabbath then one should start at the beginning of the Sabbath an follow it through, rather than ignore the beginning and start near the end and make assumptions.

So for those who would like to do that, here is the first instance of the 7th day being apart found in scripture:

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

So the question is simple, what can we learn from this before we move on to other texts concerning the 7th day rest.
Had you added just a bit more, we would find the Sabbath was blessed before man was was formed.
Being as the Sabbath is older than man kind, and it was created for man, and not man for it, speaks volumes.

you have my curiosity, Maybe I am misunderstanding you but was not man formed on the 6th day?

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
Gen 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

As said you have my curiosity in the way you use Gen 2. I have seen Genesis 1 as the orderly account of creation, and 2 as the wisdom behind creation.

I thought about that as well. Yet if we read Gen.2:2-9 then one may conclude, that man was formed before the garden was created. I had a hard time with at first. The sages, say that Gen. is not really i chronological order, Just as we read that He brought forth the plant life In chapter one, we also find that it was in the field, waiting for man to come a care for the soil.

Yet at the same time if one takes that stand, then how do say that He had finished all his work? I see your point in that I may well be wrong. Yet I can also see how it is that the Sages, came to their understanding. So if I am wrong in that I can see it both ways, then forgive me. You did make one thing clear to me though, I really must keep in mind were it is I am posting.

Hi, I am trying to keep God's Holy day in the correct way, I do not go to a church because there are only two churches in the village in which I live and although I have been asked to join one of them, they do not keep God's Holy day on a Saturday.

I wondered if any one else have the same problem, and if so what you do.
it was before Christ God make rule about sabbath, animal sacrifice etc. it is symbol of Christ. It was need animal sacrifice all the time for forgiveness of sin than Jesus sacrifice Himself to give a rest, no more animal sacrifice. Resting from simbol, to real

Jesus is the real sabbath. Sabbath mean rested. We not doing animal sacrifice any more, and not doing symbolized sabbath any more. We worship not in Jerusalem or temple anymore we worship with spirit and thruth no more emphasized in symbol but in real whorship. It is not a matter of when, but is your worship Him honestly. It is not what is look like but what is in your heart.

Do you think the human heart can be more trusted than the Word of God ? MANY people/christians believe that but they are in 'error ! see Jer 17v9 the heart is 'deceitful above all things and despeately wicked. who can know it. And people trust it ...wow !!!

word of God is the most reliable at all. The word of God as known as Bible consist of Old Testament specifically for Israel and New Testament for every body as fulfillment of the ot

this is what nt said

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.Colossians 2:16-17 | KJV | food judgement

Respect of of an Holy day is shadow of Christ.

Here are some points I see from Gen 2 on the 7th day.

1, This is a work of God, He blessed it and He set it apart as Holy.

" Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them." and "And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it" Not the work of man.

2, God did so because of a finished work.

"because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. " God blessed and sanctified because of a work already done.

3, It is a "day"

"And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it"

It is most clearly an actual day that He blessed and set apart as holy.

Then there are some sub points to point 1.

First He "blessed" the Day.

What happens when God blesses something?

here are a few scriptures that might give thought to this:

Gen 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Gen_1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

God Blessed the Animals in the Water and the fowl and notice its connected to being fruitful and multiplying.

When God blesses man and woman it is again connected to being fruitful and multiply.

Gen 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

God blessed Noah and again we see connected Multiply and fruitful.

Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Constantly God's blessing is connected to multiply and be fruitful in other words. kids in the cases we saw Humanity reproduces. If we look at Gods Blessings in Deut it shows that their crops and in fact everything will increase and multiply.

No wonder Many Jews in the past have found Gods Blessing the 7th day to mean that it will multiply and be fruitful every 7th day from then on. Interesting.

The other point, He "Sanctified" it.

To set it/the Day. Apart as Holy. What is it set apart from? Well its a Day so naturally it is set apart from the 6 other days.

When you put those two together You have a Day that is to continue every 7th day set apart from other days.

I put all this up to stimulate conversation. Have I missed anything?

At the moment I have only looked at things that can be deduced from this first mention of the 7th day. once we can do no more then I will go on to the next mention of the 7th day or Sabbath day.

The problem with that view is that clearly it is blessed for an already finished work. could you demonstrate from Gen 2 that it is a shadow of Christ.

Christ is saviour saving because of sin, Gen 2 is pre sin thus disconnected from salvation.

there are Sabbaths however that God did indeed add after sin had come into the world, The sacrificial Sabbaths, The sacrifices were for sin.

This it stands to reason that Col 2 is peaking of the Sabbaths added after sin not the finished work before sin.

Unless of course you can demonstrate from scripture that the 7th day is not what Gen 2 says.

my knowledge is limited, so I relied upon the word of God aka Bible the New Testament

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
colossian 2:16-17

let no man judge you.......or of the sabbath day

this verse said sabbath is shadow of Jesus

and i I believe this information.

Hi Guys hope you don't mind me joining the conversation.

I think this is a good point you make gotime, we need to look at the context and have have some understanding of the Old Testament as everything that comes out of the New Testament comes from the Old. This is where you need to look at the context of Col 2:16. You can't take one verse and disregard all the other verses in God's Word because it is all of God's Words collectively that give us life (Matt 4:4). Ok without saying too much now. I like the point made above because it makes it very clear that;

1. Gods 7th Day Sabbath was given BEFORE the fall of mankind (Gen 2:1-3)
2. It was given as the result of the FINISHED work of creation (Gen 2:1)
3. God blessed the 7th day of the week and set it apart from the other days of the week as a holy day of rest (Gen 2:2-3)
4. Jesus tells us that the 7th Day Sabbath was made for mankind (Mark 2:27)
5. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath day (Matt 12:8; Mark 2:28).

Now all of this was the result of the FINISHED work of creation and it was made for mankind BEFORE sin entered into the world how can Colosians 2:16 be referring to the 4th Commandment 7th Day Sabbath (Ex 20:8-11)?

To answer this question you need to understand a bit of the Old Testament teachings from the first 5 books of the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy). Why? Because these were given AFTER the fall of mankind when sin entered into the world to describe God's plan of salvation starting with the Old Covenant.

When God's Law was given at Mt Sinai after the fall it was the standard of God's character and pointed out what sin was. It was never a cure for sin in the Old Covenant. The cure for sin in the Old Covenant was provided in many of the books of Moses which included much of the content in the old Sanctuary service, ceremonial laws, sacrificial animal laws, full moons, festival days and ceremonial high Sabbath(s). In the Old Covenant if someone sinned they would have to sacrifice various animals according to the laws of Moses to seek God's forgiveness. At the same time all these practices were to teach the children of Israel about God's plan of salvation. They were types pointing to an anti-type or SHADOWS of things to come that were not yet finished. These were all pointing to the true lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world, the coming of the Messiah, Jesus and His coming work on earth and in Heaven. They were SHADOWS because when Jesus came and died they were fulfilled and nailed to the Cross because this was the end of the Old Covenant and the beginning of the New Covenant.

So in summary;

Now the key points to keep in mind is that the 7th Day Sabbath was given as a result of a FINISHED WORK of the creation week BEFORE the fall of mankind so it is impossible that Col 2:16 can be referring to something that had already been finished (creation).

On the other hand all those things given to us AFTER the fall of mankind in the Old Covenant, pointing to the plan of salvation from sin and the coming work of Jesus as the Messiah and the Lamb of God, these were all SHADOWS of things to come because it was a work that was NOT FINISHED until the death of Jesus. Well I have lots more to share but will leave it for now.

Hope this helps

God bless

thanks for sharing, but the bottom line is Colossians said sabbath is shadow of Jesus,

if you believe there are 2 sabbath, sabbath in genesis and sabbath in deut, than which sabbath God instruct Israel to rest?

it is in deut, after fall of man. In genesis God did not instruct a man to rest in sabbath

so colossians refer to sabbath in deut as symbol of Christ, now the symbol has been come, the shadow has to replaced by the real, no more animal sacrifice no more sabbath law

thanks for sharing, but the bottom line is Colossians said sabbath is shadow of Jesus,

if you believe there are 2 sabbath, sabbath in genesis and sabbath in deut, than which sabbath God instruct Israel to rest?

so colossians refer to sabbath in deut.
I think you are missing a very simple point.

Yes Col 2 says Sabbath. you are right it says that.

But it can not possible be the day spoken of in Gen 2 as it gives no hint at being a shadow and is very clearly about a work that is already finished not one that is coming.

I am sure you can understand that. Its a process of elimination. If it can't be that one then what one is it?

Well Leviticus speaks of Sacrificial Sabbaths. Or in other words Sabbaths that were Given attached to the sacrificial feasts.

Now you have two types of Sabbaths.

1, The 7th day Sabbath of creation a finished work.
2, the feast Sabbaths that were about a sacrifice to come concerning Messiah.

So Paul says Sabbath which is a shadow of things to come but the body is Christ.

Well clearly number 1 does not fit but number 2 fits perfectly.

So not hard.

Hi Jackson so nice to meet you and good question. Let's start by having a look at your single scriptures.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.” (Col 2:16-17)

These are interesting scriptures. Some people try and use this passage to say that the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath commandment in Ex 20:8-11 has been done away with thinking that the sabbath day(s) instead of day used in this text referred to one of the shadows or types that we were discussing in my last post that pointed to the coming of Jesus very much like many of the other types (e.g. Sacrificial lamb and animal offerings, feast days and ceremonial and sanctuary laws) pointing to Jesus and outlined the books of Moses (Torah) especially in Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These were all part of the old covenant given after the fall of mankind, pointing to Jesus. These were done away at the cross because once Jesus had come this brought in the beginning of the new covenant.

To understand this passage of scripture however you need to look at the context of the scripture and also understand a little about the old testament feasts and holy days and new moons and festival and feast sabbath day(s) which were shadows that all pointed to Jesus. For example many of these old feast day(s) given in the Old Testament started and included on full moons, included burnt offerings, meat offering, drink offerings and ceremonial high Sabbath days (e.g. Passover, Feast of Unleavened bread (see Ez 45:16-15).

There was seven festivals that did not necessarily occur on weekly Shabbat (seventh-day Sabbath) and are called by the name miqra ("called assembly") in Hebrew (Lev. 23). Three of these festivals occur in spring: the first and seventh days of Pesach (Passover), and Shavuot (Pentecost) which occurs in summer. Three occur in fall, in the seventh month, and are also called shabbaton: Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets); Yom Kippur, the "Sabbath of Sabbaths" (Atonement); and the first and eighth days of Sukkoth (Feast of Tabernacles). Sometimes the word shabbaton is extended to mean all seven festivals.
The Gospel of John says of the night immediately following Christ's burial that "that sabbath day was a high day" (19:31-42). That night was Nisan 15, just after the first day of Passover week (Unleavened Bread) and an annual miqra and rest day, in most chronologies. (In other systems, it was Nisan 14, i.e., weekly but not annual Sabbath.) The King James Version may thus be the origin of naming the annual rest days "High Sabbaths" in English.

It was these High Sabbath that occurred within the Feast days that were a shadow of things to come not the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Weekly Sabbath. Why? Because everything relating to the Books of Moses and the Feast days (especially in Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy etc.) Where part of the old covenant pointing out the plan of salvation and was given to mankind AFTER the fall of mankind. The 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath however was given to mankind BEFORE the fall of mankind as a result of the FINISHED creation week. So it is impossible that Col 2:16-17 is referring to God’s 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day commandment (Ex 20:8-11) as being one of the types and shadows which pointed to Jesus. Hope this helps

God bless you
