Matthew 5:17-18 (KJV)
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Yes, the law remains to judge those not covered by the shed righteous blood of Jesus, by grace, through faith. If you are under the law still you will be judged by the law and found wanting. Galatians stands as an eloquent and vigorous apologetic for the essential NT truth that people are justified by faith in Jesus Christ—by nothing less and nothing more—and that they are sanctified not by legalistic works but by the obedience that comes from faith in God’s work for them, in them and through them by the grace and power of Christ and the Holy Spirit.

The book of Galatians is a book containing 6 very short chapters. In these 6 chapters circumcision is mentioned 16 times. The commandments are not mentioned once. Yet, those people that wish to do away with GODS commandments use scriptures from Galatians to try and do so. The law of circumcism is one of the carnal ordinances of the law that were nailed to the cross. Those that wish to do away with Gods 10 commandments will also try and tell you that the ordinances and the ten commandments are simply parts of the law and are not separate from one another. In saying that they will point to a scripture thats speaking of circumcision and then apply that scripture to Gods 10 commandments. This is done to extreme in the book of Galatians. The scripture below separates the law, the commandments and the ordinances

2 KINGS 17 [36] But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.[37] AND the statutes, AND the ordinances, AND the law, AND the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

AND means AND....

1 COR. 7 [19] Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

And although the law of circumcision was nailed to the cross, Gods law (the 10 commandments) are to be kept.

/QUOTE]

HEBREWS 11 [28] THROUGH FAITH HE KEPT THE PASSOVER, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

Heres Moses keeping the law of the passover by faith. Do you suppose he also kept Gods sabbath day through faith?

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Creation of the spiritual earth, spiritual covenant with Israel with spiritual blessings, spiritual rest.

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
So tell me MattforJesus. So you think we need not keep Gods sabbath day now

ISAIAH 66 [22] For as the NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. [23] And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and FROM ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER, shall ALL FLESH COME TO WORSHIP BEFORE ME, saith the Lord.

So why are we to be keeping it in the new heavens and new earth?

That is true, such as "Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation." Gal 6:15

By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear. Heb 8:13

For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6

Amos 5:21 “I hate, I despise your feast days,
And I do not savor your sacred assemblies.

22 Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings,
I will not accept them,
Nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings.

23 Take away from Me the noise of your songs,
For I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments.

24 But let justice run down like water,
And righteousness like a mighty stream."

Can anyone of us imagine a world without any kind of law? Civil or moral law. We are already beginning to see the effects of the lawlessness in the world where violence and the love of many has grown cold. Why has the love of many grown cold. May it be because we are breaking the law of God and as result of sin, we are reaping the seeds of disobedience. Lets use one illustration of what will happen if the government, makes the decision that the rules of the road will be nil and void from tomorow onwards?
What choas will be seen on the road. How many accidents and lives will be at stake. Lets evaulate it logically and whether it make sense. Let us reason to together. I truly see the beauty in the law. Is the universe ruled without any laws? There is even law in nature. The law of gravity. What is the purpose of law or rules. Even parents set rules for the children and why is it necessary? If we understand the purpose for law we might get better understanding.

Does it really make sense that God has removed the law of liberty of serving others and depending wholly on the One and only source of life? Has Jesus came to earth in order for us to die in our sin or to save us from our sin.

I know there is some of you, that still believe the ten commandments is not taken away.

I am not advocating for the sabbath commandment only. But also talk about the law of life, which is extention of the law to give to others and to take from God. There is deeper meaning too it.

The law is so fundamental. The whole bible is the law..... What are your thoughts?

HEBREWS 8 [8] For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: [9] Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. [10] For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MIND, AND WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: [11] And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. [12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. [13] In that he saith, A NEW COVENANT, HE HATH MADE THE FIRST OLD. NOW THAT WHICH DECAYETH AND WAXETH OLD IS READY TO VANISH AWAY.

This scripture was written after the risen Christ. Why does it say that the 1st is ready to vanish? Shouldnt {according to the many} this scripture say that the 1st has vanished. Why does it say its READY to vanish?

God has made the first obsolete, but some people just will not relinquish their hold on it. Sad, huh?

you just wrote a paragraph arguing that "law" and "commandments" are entirely different, disparate things -- and then you called "commandments" = "law" as though it needs no explaining.

what's up with that? ____________________:unsure:

so tell me about the New Moon festivals we're supposed to be keeping, @Wall ?

was the temple still standing and operating with daily sacrifices when this epistle was written?
one stone yet on top of another?

True. The problem is that, some people are radically against the law. They are going to extreme in the other direction. That there is no law to follow. Our God is a God of order. There can be no freedom without the law. And somewhere there ought to be a law to follow. But the manner in which a person was saved is the same in the old testament then what it was in the new testament.

The law of God, was never the problem. We humans had problem not following the precepts of Holy God. And think of it logically, will God take chance to bring someone to heaven that breaking His commandments. Will He take the chance of allowing such a person in heaven? Because that will leave a risk of letting happen again what satan did? And God restrictly said sin will not come up again.

The mortal puts on immortality and incorruption and is given a glorified body, sin will be no more. We will be clothed in the righteous robes of Jesus.

Everyone is radically against the law. Just most poeple don't know it.

The Lord Jesus and Paul try to explain it to people but most still don't understand.

Galatians 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

John 10:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

The only thing that we will take to heaven is our character which we have developed on the earth. There is nothing magically that happens to our character. The state we were in at death is the same state we will wake up.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

why is the sabbath not been kept by all Christians? I need guidance please
There are many Christians that keep the Sabbath. One such Denomination is known as the Seventh Day Adventists.

You'll also discover many a Christian argue that we are not to honor the Sabbath God created for us while they still take one day in the week, Sunday, to worship in the name of God. After condemning the Sabbath day which affords the same opportunity.

Remember the scripture that tells us, there is no Greek, or Jew, Gentile, male, female, because we are all one in Christ? That would then revoke the idea that God's day of rest that Jesus said was created for us is not a day made only for the Jews.
The Saint Apostle Paul taught Gentiles in the book of Colossians, to keep the Sabbath. As were the Jews to do also.

"All of God’s Ten Commandments are unchanging (Matthew 5:17-20) and are all equally applicable to all mankind (both Jews and Gentiles) while heaven and earth stands. In fact, Christ magnified them (Isaiah 42:21).

The false claim that Paul taught the Gentiles and Christians not to keep the Sabbath and other pertinent laws of God is a total lie and a great deception propagated by misguided or uninformed religious leaders; even as shown in the confusing translations concerning Colossians 2:16-17.

God is the God of all mankind (both Jews and Gentiles) and the Bible as His message is intended for all mankind, and is consistent. God is not fickle-minded or changeable (Malachi 3:6) and so is His Word (Psalms 119:160). Therefore, we can safely trust in all His promises, even for that great promised salvation for mankind and future solution to world problems. " More reading and the source of this excerpt,

Its kept by faith. No faith. . . no rest. (Sabbath)

Some use it as a sign and wonder to confirm some action they perform as some sort of "sign gift" .No such things to begin with.

It is one of those things that destroy the foundation of the word (singular) destroying the intended usage . This case adding a time element like week or 7 th. day to the simply meaning rest.

A violation of Deuteronomy 4:2 used to protect the integrity of the word used throughout the scriptures . A different kind of protection. Not like that of Revelation 22 at the end, taking away of any chance of new prophecy it protects the whole sealed with 7 seals to the end of time

Ye shall not add unto the word (singular) which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it,(singular) that ye may keep the commandments (plural) of the Lord your God which I command you.Deuteronomy 4:2

The word Sabbath is a non time sensitive word is clearly one of them that has been destroyed .

Rest (Sabbath)equals rest (Sabbath) .Not week or seventh day. Its a matter of mixing faith (the unseen) in what we do hear or see.
