And it seems the Day of the Lord will last one year. I wont say thats for sure. But it sure does look that way

ISAIAH 34 [2] For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.[3] Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.[4] And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. [8] For it is THE DAY OF THE LORD'S VENGEANCE, and the YEAR OF RECOMPENCES for the controversy of Zion.

The day of the Lord’s vengeance = the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

ISAIAH 63 [1]Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. [2] Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? [3] I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. [4] For THE DAY OF VENGEANCE is in mine heart, and THE YEAR OF MY REDEEMED IS COME.

For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

ISAIAH 61 [1] The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; [2] TO PROCLAIM THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD, AND THE DAY OF VENGEANCE OF OUR GOD; to comfort all that mourn; [3] To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Acceptable year

JEREMIAH 48 [44] He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the YEAR OF THEIR VISITATION, saith the Lord. [45] They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones. [46] Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives. [47] Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab IN THE LATTER DAYS, saith the Lord. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.

Year of visitation

JEREMIAH 23 [9] Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the Lord, and because of the words of his holiness. [10] For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right. [11] For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord. [12] Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the YEAR OF THEIR VISITATION, saith the Lord.

The Lord liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them ( Jer.23 v 5-8). This will be done in the twinkling of an eye. As for the bad guys “for I will bring evil upon them, EVEN THE YEAR OF THEIR VISITATION, saith the Lord”.

ROMANS 9 [27] Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:[28] For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because A SHORT WORK will the Lord make upon the earth

That makes a lot of sense!

It looks like here the day of the Lord's anger lasted for about a year
Lamentations 2: 22. Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.

Adding to what Fredoheaven said, consider the council of Acts 15, and the subsequent explanation by Paul to the Galatians. Christians, and especially gentile (non-Israelite) Christians, were given four commands by the council, and Sabbath observance is not one of them. Believers in Christ are never commanded to obey the Old Testament Sabbath laws. In contrast, Paul says to the Galatians, "You observe days and months and seasons and years. I fear for you, that perhaps I have laboured over you in vain" (Gal. 4: 10-11).
Well Dino. Gal.4 has nothing to do with the keeping of Gods sabbath day

GAL.4 [8] Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.[9] But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? [10] YE OBSERVE DAYS, AND MONTHS, AND TIMES, AND YEARS.[11] I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

Galatians 4 says nothing about sabbaths or feast days. Its speaking of those who observe times.

DEUT.18 [9] When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.[10] There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, OR AN OBSERVER OF TIMES, or an enchanter, or a witch,[11] Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

The same thing goes on to this very day. Its speaking of the occult. Those who observe certain days by use of horoscopes?

2 CHR.33 [3] For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.[4] Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.[5] And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.[6] And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: ALSO HE OBSERVED TIMES, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger

Enchantments, witchcraft, familiar spirits, and wizards. Its speaking of the occult. Not following sabbath days.

LEV.19 [26] Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, NOR OBSERVE TIMES.[27] Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.[28] Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.[29] Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.[30] YE SHALL KEEP MY SABBATHS, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

I guess this scripture says it all. You shall not observe times BUT you will keep my sabbaths.

ACTS 8 [9] But there was a certain man, called SIMON, which beforetime in the same city USED SORCERY, AND BEWITCHED THE PEOPLE of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: [10] To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. [11] And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had BEWITCHED THEM WITH SORCERIES.

GALATIANS 3 [1] O foolish Galatians, WHO HATH BEWITCHED YOU, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

Little more scriptural proof as to what Gal.4 is speaking of. The occult. Sorcery and the such

As I read it, the section in Galatians in question here (4:8-10) is about people wanting to keep parts of the law, because of the context.

It is bracketed by these passages

Galatians 4: 1. But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all; 2. but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father.

Galatians 4: 21. Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don't you listen to the law?

Those two passages are about the law, so it seems reasonable that something in between them would also be about the law.

Sabbath Day Ordinance's = a practice commanded to be performed by the Lord,

Please pay spacial attention to: Num 15:36

Num 15:
17 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

18 (A) Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them
(NOTE: Speak to the CHILDREN of ISRAEL!) To whom was Moses to give the following ORDINANCES? Answer: The CHILDREN of ISRAEL!)

26 (A) And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel
NOTE: Forgiveness will be given to all the congregation of the: CHILDREN of ISRAEL!
NOTE 2: A sojourner was a temporary resident/stranger/traveler who was required to follow all the laws of the land = Mosaic Law.)

32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.
(NOTE: The CHILDREN of ISRAEL found a man gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. It doesn't say why. Was he going to cook? Was he cold & was going to start a fire. Any work in the Sabbath was forbidden & carried the DEATH sentence)

33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.
(NOTE: The CHILDREN of ISRAEL brought the stick gather to Moses)

34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
(NOTE: They didn't know whay to do witth him)

35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.
(NOTE: The LORD tells Moses, this man must be put to DEATH!)

36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.
(NOTE: So, the congregation stones him to DEATH!)

Wall, would you promote or take part, in stoning a brother or sister in Christ to DEATH, for picking up some sticks after sunset on Fri?

Please pay spacial attention to: Ex 35:3

Ex 20:10 (A) the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work
(NOTE: NO work allowed)

Ex 31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death:
(NOTE: Any of the The CHILDREN of ISRAEL that works on the Sabbath Day, you shall put to DEATH)

Ex 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death
(NOTE: Any of the The CHILDREN of ISRAEL that works on the Sabbath Day, you shall put to DEATH)

Ex 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
(NOTE: The CHILDREN of ISRAEL shall observe this Sabbath ORDINANCE)

Ex 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
(NOTE: Any of the The CHILDREN of ISRAEL that works on the Sabbath Day, you shall put to DEATH)

Wall, are you suggesting NT believers are instructed to Stone to Death any brother or sister that works after sunset on Fri?

Ex 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
NOTE: You shall kindle "NO FIRE" on the Sabbath. They couldn't even lite a candle! Quick question to those that promote Sabbath keeping today. Do you DRIVE to your chosen place of worship? You may want to study-up on internal combustion = The BURNING of fuel.)

Wall to you drive to worship on the Sabbath?

James 2:
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Yup. Its bracketed by those 2 scriptures. And what law is Gal.4v21 talking about? The book of Galatians is a book containing 6 very short chapters. In these 6 chapters circumcision is mentioned 16 times. The commandments are not mentioned once. Yet, those people that wish to do away with GODS commandments use scriptures from Galatians to try and do so. The law of circumcism is one of the carnal ordinances of the law that were nailed to the cross. Those that wish to do away with Gods 10 commandments will also try and tell you that the ordinances and the ten commandments are simply parts of the law and are not separate from one another. In saying that they will point to a scripture thats speaking of circumcision and then apply that scripture to Gods 10 commandments. This is done to extreme in the book of Galatians. The scripture below separates the law, the commandments and the ordinances

2 KINGS 17 [36] But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.[37] AND the statutes, AND the ordinances, AND the law, AND the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

AND means AND....

1 COR. 7 [19] Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

And although the law of circumcision was nailed to the cross, Gods law (the 10 commandments) are to be kept.

Wall to you drive to worship on the Sabbath?
EXOD.35 [2] Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.[3] Ye shall KINDLE NO FIRE throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

Kindle no fire. Ya think this might be a parable? After all, common sense should tell ya that some of Gods people might be in the colder regions of the world. They might have to start a fire to stay warm or cook some food.

PROVERBS 26 [20] WHERE NO WOOD IS, THERE THE FIRE GOETH OUT: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.[21] As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to KINDLE STRIFE. [22] The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Seems so. Seems to have something to do with the words you speak.

JAMES 3 [4] Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.[5] EVEN SO THE TONGUE IS A LITTLE MEMBER, AND BOASTETH GREAT THINGS. BEHOLD, HOW GREAT A MATTER A LITTLE FIRE KINDLETH![6] And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.[7] For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:[8] But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Yup. Once again the old and the new mesh {is that a word?}

JER.17 [26] And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.[27] But IF YE WILL NOT HEARKEN UNTO ME TO HALLOW THE SABBATH DAY, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; THEN WILL I KINDLE A FIRE in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

How many times and how many ways must the Lord tell us to keep His sabbath day before we will believe Him?

EZEKIEL 20 [47] And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I WILL KINDLE A FIRE IN THEE, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: THE FLAMING FLAME shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein. [48] AND ALL FLESH SHALL SEE THAT I THE LORD HAVE KINDLED IT: it shall not be quenched. [49] THEN SAID I, AH LORD GOD! THEY SAY OF ME, DOTH HE NOT SPEAK PARABLES?

I Guess by the time God kindles His fire all flesh shall know He kindled it. But.. to late for many.

Galatians 4: 21. Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don't you listen to the law?
What law are they talking about in Gal.4v21 ?

GALATIANS 4 [21] Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? [22] For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. [23] But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. [24] Which things are an allegory: for these are the TWO COVENANTS; THE ONE FROM THE MOUNT SINAI, WHICH GENDERETH TO BONDAGE, WHICH IS AGAR. [25] For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. [26] But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.......... [30] Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

Is the above scripture speaking of the 10 commandments as the many claim or is it simply speaking of circumcision?

EXODUS 34 [28] And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the COVENANT, the TEN COMMANDMENTS.

ACTS 7 [8] And he gave him the COVENANT OF CIRCUMCISION: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.

BOTH the 10 commandments and circumcision were givin as “covenants”

EXODUS 24 [12] And the Lord said unto Moses, COME UP TO ME INTO THE MOUNT, and be there: and I WILL GIVE THEE tables of stone, AND A LAW, AND COMMANDMENTS which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

LEVITICUS 7 [37] THIS IS THE LAW OF THE BURNT OFFERING, of the meat offering, and of the sin offering, and of the trespass offering, and of the consecrations, and of the sacrifice of the peace offerings; [38] WHICH THE LORD COMMANDED MOSES IN MOUNT SINAI, in the day that he commanded the children of Israel to offer their oblations unto the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai.

Both covenants, the 10 commandments and the law of Moses were given at Mt Sinai.

JOHN 7 [21] Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.[22] MOSES THEREFORE GAVE UNTO YOU CIRCUMCISION; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.[23] If a man on the sabbath day RECEIVE CIRCUMCISION, THAT THE LAW OF MOSES SHOULD NOT BE BROKEN; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

Circumcision is of the law of Moses and given at Sinai. So which of these, the 10 commandments or circumcision do the scriptures say bring us into “bondage” {Gal.4:24}?

And the winner is....

GALATIANS 5 [1] Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and BE NOT ENTANGLED AGAIN WITH THE YOKE OF BONDAGE. [2] Behold, I Paul say unto you, that IF YE BE CIRCUMCISED, CHRIST SHALL PROFIT YOU NOTHING.

And again...

GALATIANS 2 [3] But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was COMPELLED TO BE CIRCUMCISED: [4]And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might BRING US INTO BONDAGE:

Maye not on the surface but seek and ye shall find

ACTS 15 [17] That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. [18] Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. [19] Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among THE GENTILES are turned to God: [20] But that we write unto them, that THEY ABSTAIN FROM POLLUTIONS OF IDOLS, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. [21] For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

ACTS 15 as a whole was speaking as to whether gentiles needed to be circumcized or not.

ACTS 15 [4] And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them. [5] But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That IT WAS NEEDFUL TO CIRCUMCISE THEM, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

ACTS 15 [24] Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, YE MUST BE CIRCUMCISED, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

Nothing to do with the 10 commandments. So lets look into what pollution of idols {V 20} is all about. Its there we find that we are to be keeping Gods sabbath day.

LEVITICUS 19 [3] Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and KEEP MY SABBATHS: I am the Lord your God. [4] TURN YE NOT UNTO IDOLS, NOR MAKE TO YOURSELVES MOLTEN GODS: I am the Lord your God.

LEVITICUS 26 [1]Ye shall MAKE YOU NO IDOLS NOR GRAVEN IMAGE, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God. [2] YE SHALL KEEP MY SABBATHS, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.

EZEKIEL 20 [16]Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, BUT POLLUTED MY SABBATHS: FOR THEIR HEART WENT AFTER THEIR IDOLS.

I don’t know what the connection might be as to why graven images and idols are a sign that you don’t keep Gods sabbath but if the WORD says so I believe it. We could have a debate on what an idol is but that would go nowhere but in circles. Does your church have any standing images? I know the churches that do keep the sabbath don’t have any standing images or crosses.

LEVITICUS 9 [2]And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the Lord.

Before Christ a young calf was used as a sin offering?

DEUT. 9 [16]And I looked, and, behold, ye had sinned against the Lord your God, and had made you a molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which the Lord had commanded you.

And as Moses went up the mount to receive the 10 commandments the people below made a graven image that resembled that sin offering. They made a molten calf. God was not happy with these people. I wonder if some of them made the claim that it was not really a graven image, only a likeness of the sin offering. Now of course the crucified Jesus is our offering for sin.

I think that Galatians 4:21 is about people who want to be under the instructions that God gave to Israel while they were in the wilderness. It would include the ten commandments.

That the ten commandments are included as part of the law is clear to me from this passage
Romans 13: 8. Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. 9. For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not give false testimony," "You shall not covet," and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 10. Love doesn't harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

Paul lists 5 commandments, all from the ten commandments. And then he adds whatever other commandments there are. He then implies that they are all part of the law.

I am not interested in doing away with any of God's commandments. I simply want to acknowledge, as the spirit shows through Paul, that all the commandments are fulfilled through loving your neighbor as yourself.

would you promote or take part, in stoning a brother or sister in Christ to DEATH, for picking up some sticks after sunset on Fri?
Hi FlyingDove,
I asked a different lawkeeper a very similar question. she said the reason that she doesn't engage in stonings today is because she lives in the USA and it is illegal. She said we are to obey the laws of the land regarding things like stoning, although if a law is passed commanding us to worship idols, then we ought to break that.

I asked her if she would engage in a stoning if she lived in a country where it was legal. She said that yes, she would happily Stone murderers and rapists. I asked her if she would also Stone a rebellious child, which the lawful commands.

I don't think she ever responded to that.

After all, common sense should tell ya that some of Gods people might be in the colder regions of the world.
(Please excuse my jumping in here)

What it tells me is that God intended for his law to be carefully followed by the Israelites living in the middle East.

Before 70 AD, Jews who earnestly sought God stayed close to Jerusalem, so that they could go to Jerusalem for the feasts, as the law commands.

In the region of Jerusalem, you can easily live without a fire on the seventh day.

When Jesus dies, the massive curtain in the temple is ripped in half. Now, we can light a fire any day of the week. and we fulfill all the commandments by loving our neighbor!

The law that Paul is talking about in Galatians 4:21 is all of the instructions given in the first five books of the Bible, commonly called the law.

That he's referring to all those books is clear in that he quotes from Genesis.
"...do ye not hear the law? [22] For it is written, that Abraham had two sons…"

I think the reason why circumcision is mentioned so many times in Galatians is that the people in galatia probably viewed it as the entry-level commandment, the initiation.

Leviticus 27: 34. These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.

Two kinds of rest the temporal. . one day a week, time sensitive. And the other called today not time sensitive. Like many doctrines of God having two kinds. The counterfeiter would make it all one causing confusion when rightly dividing.

Not all commandment are moral. Some that are time sensitive are exclusively set aside as ceremonial ,shadows of the unseen "faith principle". . Purposely designed for ceremonies outward displays to the world unbelievers of a unseen work beforehand of the suffering of Christ . The ceremonial demonstration made for the whole of mankind Some worship shadows.

The two different renderings. Deuteronomy and Exodus are both used as parable with different reasoning in order to give us the one unseen understanding of faith .

There is another sabbath that is not time sensitive called today mix faith according to the 2 Corinthians 4:18 prescription and enter in by the law of faith .

I asked Wall another question, he didn't answer either. I'd like to hear her reply as well. Does she drive to Sabbath worship or is she transported via car?

Ex 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

(NOTE: You shall kindle "NO FIRE" on the Sabbath. They couldn't even lite a candle! Quick question to those that promote Sabbath keeping today. Do you DRIVE to your chosen place of Sabbath worship? Is so, you may want to study-up on internal combustion = The BURNING of fuel.)

I don't think I got the chance to ask her about kindling a fire on the Sabbath.

Observant Jews today tend to walk to synagogue for Shabbat, from what I've seen. One more reason, imo, that they tend to live in clusters, and be a people set apart.

Now, if one wants to regard the commandment about a fire on the Sabbath just as a parable, I can actually agree with that. I'm in favor of keeping the parable of the Sabbath everyday of the week!

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, **peace**,

As I read it, the section in Galatians in question here (4:8-10) is about people wanting to keep parts of the law, because of the context.

It is bracketed by these passages

Galatians 4: 1. But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all; 2. but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father.

Galatians 4: 21. Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don't you listen to the law?

Those two passages are about the law, so it seems reasonable that something in between them would also be about the law.
The Epistle to the Romans chapter 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.
Law = νόμος (nomos)
Strong: G3551
GK: G3795
a law, Rom. 4:15; 1 Tim. 1:9; the Mosaic law, Mt. 5:17, et al. freq.; the Old Testament Scripture, Jn. 10:34; a legal tie, Rom. 7:2, 3; a law, a rule, standard, Rom. 3:27; a rule of life and conduct, Gal. 6:2, Jas. 1:25
See everywhere nomos appears in the New Testament via teknia.com.

Jesus taught the law. He also said the Sabbath was made for man (us), not man(us) for the Sabbath. Jesus did not vacate the importance or the observance of Sabbath. There is nothing wrong with observing the Sabbath. (sundown Friday unto sundown Saturday). Jesus did so, as did the Apostles even after Jesus departed to Heaven. And the Saint Apostle Paul told us that we should let no one judge us for observing the Sabbath, among practicing other things of God. That pretty much settles it. The Sabbath still stands. The naysayers would have to explain why they rebuke Sabbath keeping while attending church on the day dedicated to the Roman's sun god Mithra and his day of worship;Sunday. (Origins derived from ancient Babylon unto the Greeks, and the Romans adopted the pantheon of the Greeks polytheism and just changed the deities names to Roman ones)

Jesus said until Heaven and Earth pass away not one jot nor tittle shall be removed from the law. He said that prior to crucifixion, and that was His fulfilling the sacrificial aspect of the law. In that sense, the law of sacrifice for transgression was fulfilled and yet, if we remember what He said about the law remaining in effect until Heaven and Earth pass away, we may wish to concede while His sacrifice was the last blood letting for sin, believing in that when a person dead in their sins repents and accepts that sacrifice as their Salvation and the sacrificed as their Savior, that the law is still whole. Because now the sacrificial system is a matter of faith and repentance and putting sins under the blood of the last pure unblemished lamb of God.

Not many here appreciate the study of scriptures or studies/articles concerning Soteriology. They prefer to hold to their own understanding or Denominational fidelity /teachings. Which is fine as it is as the Spirit leads. However, if you would like you may wish to take the time to read an article, scripture supported, that may be food for thought as pertains to Jesus and His teaching of the law. (Note: If you run into a Denomination that teaches Jesus never upheld nor taught the law of God in His ministry, I would suggest you leave once that becomes clear. That church is not in accord with scripture and that will not provide even milk to your spiritual nourishment, much less meat.)
Some who identify with the title of Christian prefer a doctrine that saves their souls, while they believe they are able to do all that they would like to do because no guidance of God applies anymore. Some charge this is the issue with OSAS (Eternal Salvation or, Once Saved Always Saved). This is not true. As we know. God tells us those who are in Christ do not make a habit of sinning. Those who do make a habit of sinning do not have Christ and do not know God. How else would that judgment of God apply if Gods laws are no longer valid?

2012 - (Jesus) The Greatest Law Preacher
2012 -Five Ways Jesus Revealed Grace = This in response to a now closed post where a new arrival attempted to say Jesus never used the word grace in His ministry. The word "Trinity" is not in scripture either, and yet countless Christians find its teaching in scripture.

I hope you or anyone else, find those links of assistance in their studies of Soteriology.
Blessings.

Yes "two kinds" of rest or sabbaths. Sabbath is not a time sensitive word . The two kinds is commonly over looked and the focus is on one.

Once a week fast as parable used for show and tell time . And one that is not subject to time .Like in the verse you offered they did not receive that rest that is as long as today is today or under the Sun . They put their trust in the ceremonial sabbath as seen .And did not walk by the unseen rest .
