Heishere, hi let me give you a prime example in my own life to help us understand this better perhaps. One day as I was walking to the store, I had 10 dollars, I was in rough shape money wise, so I was just going to buy some bread for me to toast and eat, I came upon a ragged man pushing a cart of cans, inside of me Holy Spirit said," my son give that man your ten dollars and continue going to the store ,and I will provide you".

Inside my brain I thought but Lord this is my only money!!! LOL If one believes, then one can have assurance or faith from that belief!! Anyway, long story short I gave him my ten dollars and said I give you this in the name of the Lord blessing be upon you. He was most grateful, but now I had no money!!! SO!!!

I went to the store as if what I believed the Lord had told me was true! Assurance! As I walk up the parking lot, I noticed a piece of paper blowing in the wind towards me, as it landed, I went to look at it! What I found was a 20-dollar bill! If one truly believes, then one acts that out!!(James 1:22) Hope this helps!!

I would say if one is a believer one should act that out.

One can have faith/be saved and not live out what they have.

Most people go the "they were never saved to begin with... they only claimed to have faith."

I do not believe that is the intent of what James wrote in light of the fact that scripture states that a believer can ship wreck their faith (1 Timothy 1:18-20) along with many other verses that make this possibility clear.

I appreciate the story and the real life application of the concepts. :)

Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to every man according to his works.
Hmm, I quoted your post because it was the answer you provided to whether someone at birth would be saved or not based upon God's choice but the scripture you provided after I asked deals based off of a lifetime lived.

Interesting is all I have to say.

You do understand that in Him is speaking about Jesus and Paul is explaining everyone is chosen to be in Jesus in order to be saved.

That literally says nothing about specific human beings but the fact that Jesus and being in Him is how we would be HOLY AND UNSPOTTED.

It's easy to understand when someone says, "if you want to get to him, you'll have to go through Bruce" why is it so hard to understand getting to salvation by grace through faith?

And so, if you are given the means by which to go through Bruce to get to 'him'... for example, "you can get through Bruce, ergo to whoever him is, simply by asking Bruce (that is, appealing to his grace)."

Of course, you'd have to believe that claim about just asking Bruce was true to even venture to ask and, despite having to get past feeling silly about asking, you might (if you believed it possible that the claim be true) even if there is a looming fear of the possibility of having to try to go through Bruce (without asking) and getting knocked back with his nunchaku.

Or would you rather spend a lifetime in training and go face to face with Bruce's fists of fury to get to ... him?

And when do reach this point?
Certainly not before heart circumcision. Puzzling to say the least that any would think otherwise given everything said of the heart of the natural man, being wicked above all things and incurable (aside from having Jesus setting it free from being captive to the will of the devil). That guy who is a lover of darkness and slave to sin, suppressing the truth in unrighteousness, being inherently hostile in his mind toward God, is not going to up and decide to believe in his innermost self that which he can neither receive nor comprehend and finds to be foolish.
John 6:44
English Standard Version
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

I think this is talking about being convicted in your heart and repenting.
