so again you are outright rejecting scripture that shows your error of Oneness and baptism?

so be it then

'your argument is not with anyone here
Introduction of what water baptism accomplishes is clearly stated in the word as is presented in Post #1965.

Rejection is to refuse what scripture actually states occurs in obedience to God's command to be water baptized. Without acceptance of the core principle that God chose to establish water baptism as the means for remitting a believer's personal sin in association with Jesus' sacrifice it is impossible to understand other scriptures relevant to a topic.
why pretend the objection is to water baptism? probably everyone who responds here has been water baptized and I have stated that for myself many times and YOU know that

the objection is to your mistaken belief that physical water washes away sin from the inside of a person

you deliberately try to misdirect and try to make it seem we object to water baptism

we object to your Oneness Pentecostal beliefs that water cleanses the heart

you are not honest

you can also quit responding to my posts with your one liners that are mini refresher courses in your unbiblical beliefs

you have responded at all to my actual post or the posts of others. you deflect and basically lie about what others say

again

you are not honest

Hi bro.

And yet Paul says "God did not send me to baptize..." what aBOUT that? didn't send Paul to baptize and yet folks are claiming baptism in water is essential to salvation.
Yes, and another thing is that Jesus himself baptized no one with water but rather with the Holy Spirit and fire.

You may want to reread my response. No mention of objection to water baptism in and of itself. The rejection is in refusing what the bible confirms it accomplishes:

Baptized in water (which a man sent of God does)
I see.

Is this your job then? Are you a professional dunker? That would explain a lot.

I sense a Dunkin Donut joke coming down the pipe. I hope not, but just sayin'.

Receiving the Holy Ghost is a different thing than receiving remission of sins.
Completely and diametrically opposed to the Gospel.

The truth:

Receiving water baptism is a different thing than receiving remission of sins.

We receive the Holy Ghost when we receive remission of sins.

Get out of this satanic cult you are involved with before it is too late for you.

Do you not realize that everyone of us will be accountable for every idle word we speak?

If not, please note the following:

"A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Matt 12:35-37

If a person gets water baptized for a reason other than for the remission of sins then yes, the aspect of remission of sins TRULY will NOT be a part of that baptism.

Satan doesn't care how it gets screwed up. He just cares that it's not done right.

But that doesn't change the fact that water baptism IS for the remission of sins as is directly stated in scripture. (Mark 1:4, Luke 3:3)

BTW, when do you think the 11 apostles received the Holy Ghost? (Baptism of/with)

What scriptures confirm your belief?
Acts
20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

This has never been the argument. Of course believers are commanded to be water baptized. That isn't even the issue.

The issue is your claim that water baptism is required for salvation. Yet, you've been shown numerous verses that clearly state that salvation is by grace through faith. With NO mention of water at all.

Without acceptance of the core principle that God chose to establish water baptism as the means for remitting a believer's personal sin in association with Jesus' sacrifice it is impossible to understand other scriptures relevant to a topic.
What do you mean by "remit"?

I will add something before the topic gets brought up directly to me. Water baptism is a part of repentance. Just wanted to have that out there since I see MailmanDan posting some verses along those lines. (please don't get distracted from the main topic by that tangential statement)

Anything that detracts and distracts from the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb.
Baptism only works by faith because of the blood of the Lamb.

And it is only "for the remission of sins" because scripture says so. It would be of no power if it was only a statement made by man.

Wansvic, nice thread, and well explained. Here are 3 further verses that confirm that God uses the Water of Baptism to wash us from our sins.

1. St. Paul the Apostle relates, "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 22:16).

2. To one of the most important questions in soteriology, the basic question, "what must we do to be saved?" (Acts 2:37), St. Peter the Apostle, on the day of Pentecost, speaking by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, did not declare Baptism merely symbolic and inefficacious, but said, "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)

This statement is clear. They were to repent of their unbelief. They were to be baptized in the Name given by the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins. And when they did this, they would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. That means Baptism effects something. It is not just a bare and empty sign. It effects the resurrection of the believer from sin and death to grace and life.

3. Our Lord Jesus, the Prince of Theologians, is Himself the best Teacher. He said to be born again of Water and of the Holy Spirit, not of water only or of the Spirit only. By this Word, He declared that regeneration ordinarily happens by means of water: "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (Jn 3:5)

Therefore, in order to pass from death to life, we should hurry to the Baptismal fount, if we are non-Christians. As Christians, we must preach on the efficacy and power of Holy Baptism to be more effective in our evangelism. The world will more easily believe in a visible sign that has invisible efficacy. That is why Our Lord Jesus even linked the Great Commission to Baptism, which He would not have done, if Baptism was non-essential: "18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Mat 28:18-20). Again, in the Gospel of St. Mark, He said, "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mark 16:16) showing that Baptism is part of salvation. We are baptized into Christ's death. So that as Christ was raised from the dead, our souls also are raised from death to life, and have new life in Christ. St. Paul explains this in Rom 6:5-7. Another key passage to read up on.

God Bless, All.
In Lord Jesus,
N. Xavier.
