No, I did not.

They plainly teach that you can receive a new heart and a new spirit when God sprinkles clean water on you.
YES, WHEN GOD SPRINKLES WATER

NOT WHEN SOME MAN DUNKS YOU IN WATER

Here is another scripture for you.

Act 5:32, And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

It is when you are judging the salvation of the person that you are discussing a topic with; or else trying them as though they are some kind of heretic.
Let's be honest here.
A good few posts that are saying that unless we are baptised in the name of Jesus only then we are not saved. No remissions of sins, therefore not saved.

Do you agree with what I have read on this thread?
In fact do you agree with that?

Truth is bro that we will disagree on stuff and yes it could be considered heresy.
But I believe this is addressed in Corinthians and the works we add to the to foundation that Paul built on Jesus.

Crap will be burned but we are saved by the fire.

Act 5:33, When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

Being born again is incomplete of forgiveness unless one is baptized. I cannot understand that new age religion teaching...only since 1960...mind you....when the Bible says we must be baptized. Research has not found any valid teaching of such before that era. Why?
that is false narrative water doesn't save Jesus blood does and faith in HIM alone. Jesus said You must Believe in HIM to be saved, Clearly, YOU have taken what Peter said out of Context because Peter did not contradict Jesus the Lord.

I can't say that I don't agree with it.

Act 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:39, For the
(conditional) promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Rom 8:30, Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

It may take some thinking in order for you to get the full brunt of the message of these passages together according to the hermeneutic of 1 Corinthians 2:13.

Come on friend.

Would that be your advice to someone who sought help from you?
Yes, if someone is inquiring into Christianity but does not have a Bible they are going to be severely at a loss.

Is James a liar when he said that we do well to believe in one God (James 2:19)?

How many members are there in the Trinity?
In post #1250 you said:

"If you accept that the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost is Jesus, then you are indeed saved (1 Peter 3:20-21, Acts 4:10-12)."

It seems you are contradicting yourself.

Do you believe that Jesus is The Trinity, all by Himself? Seems so from post #1250.

There are "Jesus Only" groups. Just trying to understand where you are coming from.

I believe that Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are distinct from one another.

If baptism is indeed a work, then I consider that it is not the work of baptism that saves me; but rather it is my faith in the promise of Acts 2:38-39; which promise has attached to it a condition; that I repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins.

Again, it is not the fulfilling of the condition of the promise that saves me; but it is my faith in the promise; which promise I obtain by fulfilling its condition.

Thus it is true in my life that,

Eph 2:8, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9, Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Also, technically, if baptism is a work and I am saved by it, I would be saved by one work (singular) and not by works (plural).

Because the passages say that we are not saved by works.

Nevertheless I do not believe that baptism is a work since it does indeed have the power to save a soul.

I also do not see what work I am performing when I submit to baptism. It is completely passive in its execution; the minister does everything.

Except that I called on the name of the Lord when I came up out of the water; which someone might consider to be a work.

But if it is, then it wouldn't have saved me.

Yet Romans 10:13 tells us otherwise.
