seeing as how we are all on this prophecy kick, wouldnt it seem so IF ( notice the word IF ),someone had a word for me, about me, that God gave them , wouldnt it come from more than one person? wouldnt it be validated to me through others as well, if it was meant for me from God? Serious inquiries only.....please.

It would not just come like this. it could come in other areas also. At least that is what I have seen. I have had people come to me telling me God said something I was wanting to do he did not want me to do. Then I also saw God close every door to keep me from doing that thing. Both went together and I knew it was from God.

If it was just the person. I might not have believed him. God always did do things in two's (he sent them out two by two" And even Paul refused to go anywhere alone.

Well thats what they say and teach. Not a bit of it have i seen in plain scripture. I personally dont
think God would make me go through the contortions. So i pray and walk by faith.
Id rather get nothing from Him than to fall into all that. I know He is providentially
in my life. I dont look for cloud formations.

Yes I do. how else could you be sure it is from God. and not just some person saying he is from God. you would have no way of knowing.

God speaks to us through His word the Bible we need to listen to His word not read it. He spoke through many people who wrote the Bible His word.

Abiding and Lao, thank you so much for your input, its greatly appriciated. Yes, lao, he most certainly does speak to us thru his wonderful word, and he dont need a soul to do it ( not sayin he cant ), jus sayin he can do it all on his own, and Ill know it loud and clear!

not only would the message be from more than one person, but also you would have the Holy Spirit testify to its truth and purpose for your life.

however All prophecy is to testify and be a witness to Jesus and what He did for the world. it is not some fortune cookie or self help pamplet but should words to help people either be led to a more personal relationship with Christ, grow in their walk with God and comfort them when they are discouraged by the world by reminding them of God's love and promises, or exhort them when they have stepped from the path and are too stubborn to hear the voice in their hearts telling them they are walking the wrong way.

Proverbs 2:1-5
(1) My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
(2) So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
(3) Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
(4) If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
(5) Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

God wants us to search the Bible He has much information in there as we mature in Christ we cannot expect to be spoon fed. His word is in there we just need to search and listen. I find it is good to read a little then sit and think about what I just read meditate on the word.

Psalms 1:2
(2) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psalms 119:148
(148) Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.

I love the verse that says He works in us both the will and the do of His good pleasure.
So I tend to judge by that. Plus others ways, praying for wisdom. But seeing the Father of our
faith walking decades not hearing from God. Im fine, and dont expect a play by play, since
it was never taught or promised in the word.

There is only one way to know about a word to you, and that is by the witness of the Holy Spirit.

I am amazed at the way we seek to disregard the voice of Jesus in our hearts.

I am a firm believer in being led by the Holy Spirit, in all things.

"Led by the Spirit"

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God,
they are the sons of God.

Led: carry, drive, induce, dragged along, kept

No voice in this!

So this has me thinking about discernment, words of knowledge or they ended to?? Iv had people come out with something that God had truly been dealing with me (or visa a versa) floor me cause no one knew. I can't stand when people run around asking others "do you have a word for me" that's foolishness I think, but God is God and if we are not listening or struggling with something He does send someone to encourage us, wouldn't He??
Surely there are valid testimonies of this occurring?

Ephesians 6:17
(17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Matthew 4:4
(4) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:7
(7) Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Matthew 4:10
(10) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

I dont necessarily look for anything in particular like a prophet or anything, but
that verse that says we close the door of our closet and ask Him in secret, and then leave and He will answer
us openly....pretty awsome.

yes, the most important test. A prophet would not say anythign contrary to scripture. Scripture trumps all things.

If someone is speaking a true word from God, and you have the Holy Spirit, then it should confirm itself in your heart.
