you know how Hebrews makes the argument that the priesthood of the Law had to keep making the same sacrifices over and over, showing that it could never actually take away sin?
but Christ died once for all?

something eats at me every saturday - if i truly had rest, why do i have to do this again next week?
Because no relationship can survive without spending quality time together and God is no different. He gave us 6 days to get all our works and labors done Exo 20:9 and only asked for one day back dedicated to Him Isa 58:13, the seventh day Sabbath Exo 20:8-11 so He can bless and sanctify us Eze 20:12 Isa 56:1-7 as we can't sanctify ourselves.

Seems like a similar question posed to Eve in the Garden. His ways are above our ways and through faith we should live by His every Word. Mat 4:4 even if it doesn't make sense to us.

In God's rest there is no rebellion to Him, just peace Isa 48:18

how sad that you are only with Him once a week, no wonder you keep seeking rest!
Where did I say that? These appear to be your words, not mine.

We should worship God every day, but that doesn't mean we don't have a moral obligation to obey God's commandments.

This is where it pays to understand the difference between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law, and what is required of the covenant under which you live.

Yes Jesus spoke of it in Mat 5:19-30. The Spirit of the law is greater than the letter, not lessor. If one is following the Spirit of the law, the letter is automatically kept. For example Jesus relates anger with murder. Jesus can change our thoughts and feelings from the inside out and anger should turn to compassion and in doing so thou shalt not murder is automatically kept. Jesus is not teaching it's okay to literally murder or break the least of His commandments. Mat 5:19

If one is breaking the letter- which is how we can see our sins Rom 7:7 Rom 3:20 and is hostile to God's law its not a good sign 8:7-8. If Jesus is in us we would be keeping His commandments John 14:15-18 through faith and love.

The spirit of the law is its actual fulfillment. Outward activity may accompany inward reality, but the outward activity must be reflective of what the law actually requires.
A good example is fasting. Most people believe it to be a time of deprivation and a time of inflicting the soul. Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't constitute a fast...Isaiah 58. God has a whole different set of expectations.
The Sabbath is the same way. It's not about a particular day. It's about a real and vital relationship that leads to peace with God and satisfaction in Him through the Shepherd. This is what Psalm 23 is all about.

Our Creator wrote this personally:

The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God Exo 20:10

He said it’s about a particular day. My faith is in Him.

God is particular. He was particular about a certain tree in the garden, He is particular about the day He deems is the Sabbath, His holy day, that is a commandment.

And why was it established on the 7th day? What does it signify? What is God revealing?

in post #121 you clearly imply that sabbath inactivity is the only way to spend "quality time" with God.
God set aside the seventh day Sabbath as the only day He blessed, sanctified and made for holy use to spend time with His children to sanctify and bless us. Eze 20:12 Isa 58:13-14 Isa 56:1-7 It's a full 24 hours where we put all secular works aside and spend holy time with God. He gave us 6 days to do all our works and labors. Exo 20:9. That doesn't mean we don't worship God daily, but if every day was the Sabbath, no secular work would get done and God made us to work. He only asked for one full day back and was particular about the day He asked back. The day He claims is His holy day Isa 58:13 and we are also commanded to keep the Sabbath day holy Exo 20:8 as we are made in the image of God to follow Him.

God worked 6 days and rested the seventh day. Gen 1, Gen 2:1-3 He sanctified the seventh day, made it holy and blessed it. He commanded man the same cycle- work six days, rest on the seventh day Sabbath and keep it holy as we are made in the image of God to follow Him. When we follow Him the way He asks, it shows our allegiance is to the one true God, the God who has the power to create heaven and earth Exo 20:11, the same God of Judgement Rev 14:7. The Sabbath is a memorial to His creation and redemptive power. Keeping the Sabbath shows He is the one who sanctifies us Eze 20:12 and its a sign God gave to show us we are His people Eze 20:20.

God tests His people, just like Adam and Eve were tested in the garden. Eating from the tree of knowledge it was more than just a tree, it was to prove who their allegiance is to. The Sabbath I believe is our test for today as it is more than just a day, it shows who we are faithful to. Keeping God's commandments or following popular traditions in lieu of obeying God which Jesus in His own Words said is false worship (worship in vain). Mat 15:3-9 Its why there is so much controversy around it. God said Remember- man says forget, my faith is in God.

You answer alot of questions I don't ask and leave undone what I do ask.
Let's go one at a time. Why was the Sabbath on the 7th day?

God answers this question...

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

On what days did Jesus not spend time with His Father?

So God doesn't live in you by His spirit. Got it.
These are your words, not mine.

Without the power of God, we could never obey God's commandments. Removing the one commandment that reveals the Author of His commandments, the Creator of Heaven and Earth and removes His seal, without Him there is nothing we can do.

What does that have to do with God giving us a commandment to follow. We are not equal to God, its something Lucifer wanted and the reason we are in this mess.

Christians live under a new covenant. (fundamental!)

The 10 commandments are part of the old covenant, God's contract with the OT Jews.
