Re: ion

Basketgirl the age you are is a very confusing one, and much more so for a Christian trying to be living as one thinks jesus should. one problem is hanging out with your non christian friends will possibly lead to situations sometimes where you will have to stand your ground and say no to activities they do.
If your friends are doing things contrary to our beliefs Isololation is ok if temptation is to much. Trust god to give you advice on this.

Always remember a christian is an unbeliever who at one time enjoyed the company of someone who told them the message. The lord still loves us both the same, he wants them too.

Personally I made the mistake of turning my back on my non Christian friends as a teenager now as an adult I carry the shame of what i did. I made those people think i thought i was better than them and this also
reflects on thier opinion of christianity.
sometimes if you are there as a mate for non Christians they see a difference in you someone who radiates unconditional love is such an attractive thing. if you are lucky you earn the right to sow a seed through your love
This is very true- good post.

2 Cor. 5:18-19 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespass against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
John 17:14-18 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.
John 17 is Jesus' prayer for us!

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

2 Corinthians 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

2 Corinthians 6:3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

2 Corinthians 6:4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

2 Corinthians 6:5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

2 Corinthians 6:6 By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,

2 Corinthians 6:7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

2 Corinthians 6:8 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

2 Corinthians 6:9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

2 Corinthians 6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2 Corinthians 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

2 Corinthians 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

if we isolate ourselves from them, we won't be like influenced by them, right?

NO! HOw are you supposed to lead someone to Christ if you isolate them from you? That's not right at all. If Chrisitans isolated themselves from non believers who none of us would be Christians. Just be strong and don't spend all your time around them. Its called balance. :)

Insulating ourselves against the world is one thing; isolation is another.

Being salt and light is nigh impossible if we are isolated.

Evangelism is nigh impossible if we are isolated.
