There’s certainly a fine balance, but I steer more toward scrutinizing the finer details. The Bible is very wordy with a lot of information packed into short sentences. Every word counts in the Bible.
Even the smallest strokes, i.e. jots and tittles. For example, a the yod is made with a jot, if I'm not mistaken, and tittles are the "crowns" on certain placed on certain letters, again, if I understand them correctly. And each might require a whole sentence to explain, or even a paragraph, or might be explained in one word.

I can see why you constantly question the validity of yourself.....you make no common sense.

she actually makes a lot of sense to me.
she's one of my favourite posters, and i've learned a lot from considering her perspectives. i find God has given her a certain wisdom.

frankly i think you're wrongly criticizing her, where you should be pausing and thinking a little deeper on what she said.

@crossnote i am sorry for taking up your nice thread with this nonsense -- i won't mention it in public any further.

And by "God's word" I'm sure you meant to say King James version.
that's a great example.
can we engage in any honest textual criticism with someone who is KJV-only?
or anything potentially disparaging to the textus receptus, will they immediately reject on principal?

it's genuinely hard to talk about nearly anything objectively.

2 Timothy 2:22 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant[e] must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth..... https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Timothy+2&version=ESV

The new age religion folks...pay no attention to God's word if it does not fit their narrative.
i don't see this attitude as being confined to 'new age religion' at all.
Sounds like Peldom is engaging in some of that leftist projection he is always talking about :giggle:

Has nothing to do with the point at hand.
God was gentle with the world but....flood was needed.
Good was gentle with Lot's wife...but she stands as a pillar of salt.
etc.
Your point is?

Honest textual criticism means HONESTLY admitted that a small number of Greek manuscripts -- Aleph, A, B, C, D are in fact the most corrupt in existence. Not subjectively but objectively. Once the textual critics will be honest about this key issue, we could proceed further.

Help us...are you #1 or #2?

Just for clarity.
To what do these numbers refer? In regards to you, I have multiple times witnessed
you deny, contradict, and/or ignore God's Word when it does not fit your narrative.
