when is the time for unity.
Read it more carefully. It's in there... often. As is a time to break down, a time to refrain from embracing, a time to castaway, a time to speak, and a time for war.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Solomon (Eccl 3:1-8)

...what time do you have?
I hope I'm on God's Time.....Thank You Jesus!

try context, something you seemed to have mist.
you read more carefully, when was the new covenant started when the buititudes were spoken, and when did you get to read them.

and when in the new covenant did it say make war.

Is that a statement, or a question?
when did a new covenant start. and what was that purpose. if paul calls it to be of one body. (when is the time for unity) and what date in history call all believers to one body,and unity. etc.

when did he say kill. we already know about the lost generation, in the desert. and who they claim who told them to fight. at no point in the new covenant did it project kill.

Either way, it seems problematic at times.
quoted out of context has made it problematic. there is one body, in the new covenant, ware even paul said how can you make war with one body, or say to any other part you dont belong. etc
it would be more translated to a time to believe in god through jesus christ.
for example..
16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body.17 1 Corinthians 12:

y'all can have unity any time you want

Jesus never prayed we would be united in doctrine...however, Christians are supposed to be known by their love...and love for each other

and that's a big problem...cause the onus is always on us personally....no finger pointing
when did the new covenant start. again there is the problem doctrine in context to.

not for me there isn't...I simply believe Jesus when He says Christians will be known for their love

He did NOT say they would be known for their doctrine

Love is cold like ice in outer space and pride at and in doctrine is what steers this ship way too often

Could be the love of many waxing cold perhaps?

its call a new covenant. no matter what you call it. it a bit hard to write and convey love at the same points of reference. when context is taken out of context.

34 And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." And they cast lots to divide his garments.Luke 23

I've been pondering you for quite some time. I finally get it now. You're a red-letter-only "believer." God changed specifically for you. I've wondered about you, and now I get it. You invented a god you could deal with.

Not effective. God never changed. You merely dismissed the bulk of him.

A time for war...

Ephesians 6:12-17 (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (KJV)
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Gotta remember that.

I think that is a good observation (blue) that (sadly) would fit too many folk

I don't have a clue what ye olde Scot is trying to say
