i was perplexed, since i drink it black, and he said, you know....like maybe meth?

I'm jealous. Wish I could join you. Use to like to muck around in old outhouse pits....I do mean old, old, old.
:) ... The lil' adventurous boy in me refuses to go away. For my small group, it's all about the history. One of these days I may just get around to posting a few pics of the kind of stuff we find. It's a terrific hobby for history nuts :) Never know what lies beneath :) And you're bang on concerning old outhouse pits. Have a few buddies that have made some remarkable recoveries doing just that :)

Lol .. it's true John. Everything's decayed into soil after 150 - 200 yrs. or so. Old bottles, clay pipes, early coins ... you name it. :)

If you don't mind me asking, what detector do you use? Since I am retiring in short order, I have been thinking about getting into this and have seen some favorable reviews for the Garrett ACE 250 and ACE 350.

Keeping the property clean, no garbage pickup, the outhouse was a perfect disposal spot unless one was a bachelor in which case the garbage sometimes was just thrown out the window.

Well who'da thunk it, one learns something new everyday. I have never heard of this before but after looking at the link, it doesn't look bad at all.
