Last night I was watching Late Night Stephen Colbert on CBS, and Oprah Winfrey was his guest. Oprah was promoting a new series on OWN called Belief which will start airing this Sunday. It documents other people's beliefs such as Judiasm, Hinduism, Atheism etc.

She stated, "We should be accepting of other people's beliefs."

That statement made me cringe. Should we be accepting?? Help!!

What do you mean by accepting? It has many definitions...such as accepting it as true and some use it as a synonym for tolerant....If they mean accepting as true, then no....that is trying to bring subjective truth- what is true to individual people, so two contradictory claims can be true at the same time....which is obviously wrong. On the tolerant definition, we can disagree but respectfully like 1 Peter 3:15...do so with dignity and respect.

Thank-you!! That makes much sense to me.
Obviously we're going to meet people with many different opinions and religious views; but I know in my heart Jesus is the only way. It's truly a black or white concept; either you are for God, or you are against God. (Or Maxwell the driving pig, lol!)
