Icky is a nice way of putting it. There are whole swaths of the forums that make me want to turn my shower on pure hot water and play out the scene from The Crying Game. I kind of regret joining these forums, and I think I'll do some looking around to see if there is something better, but somehow I think I'll find the same type of stuff anywhere I go. Too bad because I'd really like to find some people to learn from so I can grow in my faith.
Wherever there are people, there will be disagreements, misunderstandings, and arguments.

There are good people here, though :)

hi :)

i first joined in 2012 and was SO intimidated by the BDF. i read a lot, and never posted there.
after a while you get a sense of who's trustworthy, even if you have to wade through some... er, stuff first.

when i rejoined after a little hiatus, i knew which threads would be sorta disastrous by who began them, or what they were about. i don't wander into the contentious threads much.

you know, it's the internet. some good; some not so much.
when i'm ready to say 'when' in contentious parts of the forums, i go straight to the prayer requests.
pray about it for yourself? CC may or may not be the right place for you, and either way is fine!

i laugh when i read part 2 of your sig (it's so me! haha!)... but i do think if you can hang in there, you'll soon learn whom you can trust here.

oh, and this thread is pretty much the safe haven of the BDF... please visit often :)

Christian Singles and Miscellaneous are about the only two on these forums that don't give me the heebie-jeebies or make me want to claw my eyes out or blurt out very profane things that a Christian ought not to say.

Good evening friends. Rest well.

Hope all of you had a Happy Easter.

Christ is alive! Let christians sing!
Let streets and homes with praises ring.
His cross stands empty to the sky.
In death, His love shall never die.

Goodnight everyone.

1) I can assure you, that (as Internet Forums go) C.C. is pretty much the best to be on. There is one more I enjoy, but I keep it a secret, that way it stays a Forum of Christian Fellowship. :)

2) There are very Godly people on C.C. And there are others. Such is the way of Internet Forums. Not only that, such is the way of the World in general, AND even in Church Congregations around the world. Seek and ye shall find.......can't remember who said that, but He was pretty smart.

3) Seeking people to learn from is a bit of a gamble. Believers have the very best Teacher there can ever be. The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. If one relies on the wisdom of man, one is doomed.

4) Still, one must do what is best for them.

5) As people grow here, learning the various functions of the Forums, (those truly seeking Christian Fellowship) learn the value of the "IGNORE" function we have.

Certain parts of the forum can get icky. I tend to avoid certain topics because all others do is argue. This thread is safe, though :)

On another note, 2 people got baptized today at sunrise service!!! :D
Woulda been really, really cool if they had been baptized in the Corpus Christi Bay!

:)

True that. There are a few churches here that do use the bay and the gulf, and there is a church that holds Sunday morning services on Whitecap Beach during summer months.

Having been born at the Naval Station there, I have a special place in my heart for Corpus Christi. Were it not so very expensive to live there, I would..........well, that and the depths of my current roots here in Bama with family and whatnot.

Be happy to............in 2002 I ALMOST moved to Refugio. Actually drove around looking at places, but, in the end, I returned to where my family was. Still kinda miss it though. Refugio was far more affordable, and not that far from the Coast.

This book I'm reading is making me cry rivers. T_T Books usually make me weep because they're boring and take forever to finish. But this one speaks to my very heart and I'm shedding honest tears this time T_T. It's the one about the life of Ravi Zacharias. Darn, must be so hard to be a missionary on mission trips. One can never easily admit that, this whole following Jesus thing, is larger than life itself, until they're at the brink of death. T_T The next book that I wanna read and I think will absolutely tear me apart, is called Eternity in our Hearts.

Do you mean Eternity in Their Hearts? Or is this a different book? Because I've read that one and it's very good, but it's not an emotional story. It's more a look at different world cultures and how many of them have traces of God's truth in them.

I think that's the one! The one with the story of William Marcus Young and the Lahu tribe. I once read it referenced in one of Charles Stanley's books.

I think that's the one. Sounds very familiar. I wish someone did something similar with the Australian Aboriginal Dreaming stories and the Bible. That would be cool.

This book is a great read on how God can change things in another culture. This woman went to Hong Kong to minister to the drug attics there.

Sounds interesting! I'll check this out. The last one I read was about a Muslim's conversion. God's presence in cultural differences is really interesting!

Good morning EG!
