A tweet a girl made from a girl I'm following on Twitter:
Believe it or not, showing genuine kindness in place of bullying or hurtful words and gossip, can potentially save a persons life one day.

She is 100% Correct

One day more Christians will hopefully follow this example.
Let's let that maturity develop ;)

Dad got released from the hospital late yesterday afternoon, and is back home. He's quite sore but is otherwise okay. Thanks to all who prayed. :)

I was reading through Genesis 3 this morning and was wondering about verse 14 - The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life.

I see this imagery of eating dust as symbolic of a creature low, despicable, abhorrent, and degraded. I heard a preacher say that "eat dust" is another way of saying "bite the dust," as a wounded warrior in death ends up biting the dust. Any thoughts?

I have heard don't remember from whom or where that it is thought that at one time snakes were one of the most beautiful creatures created and may have had wings which might be the reason we see winged serpents in some Chinese restaurants?...

So God making them crawl on the ground taking the beauty away and making them live life on a lower level than originally designed? I guess more questions than real answers...

It certainly seems to point to a "lowly" position. I guess that's one way to say, "low life."

Paul writes: "they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize, so run, that ye may obtain."

In a physical race everyone runs as hard as they can and yet only one person gets the prize.

This gives the model for how we are to run the Christian life: we are to run as if only one person will win (an get to heaven). Of course, the spiritual race is different in that everyone who is "in Christ" gets the prize.

The imagery in 1 Corinthians 9:24 reminds me of the Olympics. All the runners run, but only one receives the gold medal.

If I remember correctly, C.S. Lewis, in his Sci Fi trilogy described an unfallen serpent. It might have been the book about Mars.

Good afternoon everyone! Yes, even on the west coast it is finally afternoon!

A Happy 90th Birthday to Queen Elizabeth. Apparently she and Philip will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary next year, provided they both survive. He is 95 and the Queen is now 90. Hanging in there for the longest reigning monarch ever!

Please pray for my surgical foot. The pain is really bad, which it wasn't two days ago. I am worried about infection -my wounds are not healing well elsewhere on my body - probably from the two chemo drugs I take for RA. If it isn't one thing it is another!

Prayers continue for you Angela and also for Lady bug's dad...sorry I only saw that post today.

Yes happy Birthday to the queen - I'm not a fan of Philip.

I so love seeing the queen in pastels..shirt, cardigan and skirt. This look is so flattering in comparison to her public image wearing gaudy-coloured boxy suits which do nothing for her. Sack her stylist I say!
