Melita, when my son was in kindergarten his teacher called to inform me that he was telling his classmates that Santa was just a character and not real, and that Christmas was really Jesus' birthday. He had some of the kids in tears!!! I had to help him understand why parents teach their kids in different ways. Oy vey!

Ho ho ho.
Ho ho ho.
We are Santa's elves.

We are Santa's elves,
Filling Santa's shelves with a toy
For each girl and boy.

Oh, we are Santa's elves.
We work hard all day,
But our work is play.
Dolls we try out,
See if they cry out.

We are Santa's elves.
We've a special job each year.
We don't like to brag.
Christmas Eve we always
Fill Santa's bag.

Santa knows who's good.
Do the things you should.
And we bet you,
He won't forget you.

We are Santa's elves.
Ho ho ho. Ho ho ho.
We are Santa's elves.
Ho Ho!

I don't know what would be worse, showing a kid that Santa was arrested or telling them that he isn't real.....
Wait a minute.....Santa is not real. Why am I always the last to know. LOL

R, or H, or D, (hard to follow your names)

This came out in a very dramatic way here 30 some years ago.

One of our friends had to cross a toll bridge on the way to work (165 feet high). On the morning I am speaking of, he had no money, and had to rob his piggy bank for change. It took several minutes to shake out the money.

That morning, one of the biggest tragedies of our county's history occurred. A violent storm blew a ship into that bridge, wiping out hundreds of feet of the high center span. Thirty some people fell to their deaths in the water below.

Our friend, because of the delay with the piggy bank, and having to count out nickels and dimes at the toll booth was now five cars behind the gapping hole where the bridge used to be.
Was your friend on the Skyway Bridge the day it got hit by the ship and the span collapsed and people were driving over the edge in heavy fog cause they couldn't see the bridge was down? I remember that horrible day.... What a blessing he had from God....

Whew! Just made fresh pork chops, mashed potatoes, cream corn and then whipped up some red velvet cupcakes for dessert .. they are currently in the oven baking. Going to put the cream cheese icing on them when they cool off ... mmmmmmm!
Sad part? The cupcake mix says yields 12 ... well I only got 11 because I ate quite a bit of my batter! LOL Ah well ...
